Hello everyone, I joined the site about 10 years ago. I'm pretty sure I'm the oldest member of this community :). With the release of Starcraft 2 beta I've decided to get involved in the Blizzard community again!
I'm looking forward to getting to know the cool peeps that call this place home!
I have been lucky enough to play the Starcraft 2 beta for a few weeks and let me say you will not be disappointed.
The game feels very much like the original which of course is a good thing. It's very fun right now because there are many new units and everyone is currently figuring out what strategies to use against X unit build ups and so on.
The new battle.net system is very cool, you play 10 qualifying games and it will put you into a league. There is currently 5, copper, bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Every with the limited number of users I have found it is VERY good in setting you up with people your skill level. My current win / loss is basically 100/100. I'm currently in the top end of the silver league up from the bronze league where I started.
Right now a big part of the game is not only the best unit makeup but scouting in order to properly time a rush. If you go for higher tier units the trade off ofcourse is the fact you need to dump more resources into your buildings and tech, allowing the other player to mass a few more lower tier in order to try and make a push while your resources are being spent on buildings.
They of course are evening things out which is the entire goal of beta but I must say, for a game in beta it is incredibly fun and I don't see people being disappointed, so good luck getting into beta!!
We are looking for a few members that have experience posting gaming news on other web sites to come help out @ DiabloFans.com.

I would like to take this time to remind everyone that Diablo3.com has its very own IRC channel on the irc.gamesurge.net network. The channel is #diablo3 . It would be a good idea to drop by and learn how to get to the channel in case the web site ever goes down... like... if... 200 gaming web sites suddenly linked to diablo3.com and 200 thousand visitors made our servers crash.
Umm ... Medievaldragon is a bummer that stays all day long at home. Umaro is a hard-working person who gets home tired and randomly is able to visit the forum past midnight. So ... there goes why he may have posted far later than me. =)
Actually, what MD says is correct. I am usually on far later then he is, or he is on much earlier then me. Either way, there would be huge gaps between our posts.
I'll be promoting it more and setting up java chat and what not again. It would be good for any regulars to start hanging out in the room. It's a good way to keep in touch incase the server goes down, for example, if you take the amount of sites that linked to us today, and say, multiply that by 10 or so.. our server might go down due to the surge of traffic.
Though I hate to say it, I don't think they would buy that many servers for Diablo 3, yet... that seems a bit overkill for a game that wont see open beta for probably a long peroid of time.
I'm not sure you can call them idiots since the game they did end up making broke every single sales record known to man lol. They have 5 million people playing, thats ilke 70 million a month.... they pretty much have the license to print money now.

Once installed you need to type in /server irc.gamesurge.net at the command line then /join #diablo3
