posted a message on eHP vs Resist/Armor
    Thanks for all the replies.

I have further read that found something like what unReality said.

    There are:
    Armor Damage Reduction = A%
    TotalArmor / ((50*(Creature Level)) + TotalArmor)

    Resist Damage Reduction = B%
    TotalResist / ((5*(Creature Level)) + TotalResist)

    Total Damage Reduction = 1-(1-A%)*(1-B%)

Of course increasing both will definitely be better, but when you are put to a choice to increase ARMOR or AR, then you might want to whip out the calculator and see which is better for your total DR.

The above definitely helps me, hope it will help others.

    Quote from unReality

EHP is a combinatino of your total life (HP) and total damage reduction (DR).

Total DR is based on "DR from armor", "DR from resists", and "Other DR". Other DR are stats like "reduce damage from melee attacks by %". So, to answer your question, you want to increase BOTH armor and AR.

10 armor = 1 AR if you have armor and AR at a 10:1 ratio. If you have 5000 armor and 800 AR, adding in 100 AR will provide more total DR than adding 1000 armor. If you have 2000 armor and 300 AR, adding 1000 armor will provide more total DR than adding 100 AR.

posted a message on What do you look for when farming
    I picked everything except whites.

I think it will be taking too much time to look through the items for ilevel before picking them up.

Identifying them is faster now compare to previously.
So I TP and vendor them all, unless there are good stats that can be sold in AH or upgrade for me.
    I need the GOLD !!!!

posted a message on eHP vs Resist/Armor
I am new to Diablo and new to DiabloFans forum.

I have read quite a bit about D3 mechanics but I still have doubts and do not understand the above.
I would like to ask some questions regarding the above topic.

I am trying to built my char for survival and I read that I will need to add to the above stats.

    So my question:
    - when I upgrade 1 of my item, my Resist/Armor stat drop but my EHP increase

For the above case, EHP increase, must I also increase resist/armor on the same item to be consider an upgrade?

On a different topic, which are better or are they about the same?
    example
    - 800 AR and 5000 Armor
    - 1000 AR and 4000 Armor

Bottomline, if I cannot find items to increase my ARMOR stat, can I upgrade my AR to compensate the ARMOR?

    Thank you.
