posted a message on Quick 1min Strafe DH Build
    Hey everyone -

I wanted to share a 1 minute guide with you, we call it a Speed Run. It features the Strafe Demon Hunter, and is fun and a great way to farm MP0-1.

Just so you know, a "Speed Run" show is a quick format show in about 2 minutes or less, this one is 1 minute. It is designed to give a quick build for you to use and explore, it is not a deep lengthy guide.

    Check it out and enjoy:

    Quote from ProzaicMuze

As someone that has participated in a Diablo-based podcast, I would STRONGLY suggest adding visual elements to your YouTube videos that follow what's being said. There really isn't a purpose to posting to YouTube if you don't and the traditional podcast options like SoundCloud or iTunes make more sense.

I listened to part of this episode, but a flashplayer crash forced me to reload the video. Unfortunately, I wasn't looking at the timestamp and with YouTube's terrible time scrubber and no visual guides I had no idea where I was and didn't listen to the rest. Doing this would also make it easier to create the summary timestamps people asked for on your previous episode.

    Hi ProzaicMuze -

Thanks for the input, much appreciated. The static background is very much a temporary placement. I have some plans in place to move to a much more interesting format, much more like what you and Sixen typically do in terms of being present on camera. Of course, many others do this also. I would love ot have gameplay in the background, but it is too long. I think augmenting the conversation with on camera and other images will help. Work in progress, I appreciate your patience as I develop it.

Speaking of iTunes, the podcast will be appearing there shortly.

I a still debating the timestamp part, but I like the idea.

So much work to do, all I need now is like 100 people to help me lol :)

    Thanks for the feedback.

posted a message on Positive Things - The State of Diablo 3
I am working on a summary but for now here it is:

I think the community has already beat the negative horse to death. As someone on these forums reminded me, it would be good to see some positive. I agree 100%.

    I love:

    - Graphics/Environmental details - like Act 3 Siege breaker from the battlements
    - The tiny details on spell effects, like energy armor
    - The awesome detail of the Act 1 ferryman holding his shiny lamp on the dock
    - The spinning wheels of the broken carts in Act 2 Fields of Slaughter
    - The Audio is amazing, with outstanding sound effects.
    - The physics engine is out of control good - skeletons flying across the screen as you smash them with HOTA :)
    - The combat engine is amazing. The game has the best combat engine I have ever seen in any ARPG or even in most MMO
    - Foundation - I think the game is an amazing foundation from which to build an awesome game. Add more systems and support that foundation.
    - I think we as a community should allow Blizzard to move away from the shadow of Diablo 1 and 2 and become its own game, and let's see what it can become.
    - Dueling is not really PvP proper, but it is a move in the right direction.
    - The PvP blog is an attempt at community interaction and should be rewarded with some trust and positive hope.

Those are the basics, if you want the detail, please check out the video. There will be some collaboration on the channel and Diablo Expressions website in the near future (read next week), so stay tuned for that also.

    Thanks for watching and commenting.

What do you guys think of the upcoming dueling patch? Do you like it? Do you think it will come with more than just dueling. I have a feeling it might involve new crafting recipes. Any thoughts?

You're changing the concept of value here to obfuscate the point.

When I use the word value, I am referring to economic value, not personal value. The point I was making many, many posts ago were all referring to economic value, not personal value. The topic was in-game gold. A person can own a picture of a long lost loved-one, but unless that person was famous in some way, it likely has no economical valuable at all. This is not the value I'm talking about, and that should be obvious I think but is going over everyone's head it seems.

I tire of these conversations though. It's not like anything I post matters anyhow, so I don't see the point.

That's how forums work when you have to debate things with many other people instead of mainly agreeing with one more. :P

And is also the reason almost no streamers visit or write in forums. Sad.

This is a very good point. Alas, I am here for fruitful debate :) I cut my teeth on forums, ready to roll :)

I think you all raise some very good points. It is also interesting that so many different views exist to the same topic - personally I love that.

It's easy to get frustrated when you are passionate about your stance, which is all good :)

I can see the AH tax making sense to some, I just feel it is a lazy way of implementing a gold sink. I would still love to see other systems in place to make that better. Now, that being said, I would rather keep the AH tax in place of nothing, as it is better than nothing, but not really creative.

I think it is fair to equate real life currency with gold in Diablo 3, as Blizzard does this directly on the RMAH, and therefore, items in game have a relative value to users, buyers, and sellers.

    Bring on more thoughts :)

Love it, appreciate all the input. Great stuff.

Good points all. I don't like the arbitrary taxation on the AH, mainly because I think it is a poor gold sink that takes away from the feeling of risk/reward, rather than say gambling or crafting, which reinforces it. I prefer positively reinforcing game systems.

With regards to movement speed, I would not mind the base speed staying as is, if only the cap was higher with gear. That would be good, as again, it would create the need for decision on the part of the player, or specific gearing. I just think overall, a lot of the current systems are dumbed down and appear lazy. Richer systems would be welcome. Let's see what happens.

Thanks everyone. We will for sure aim to get as much of the content expressed in text also, do please understand it can be difficult to compress an hour + podcast into a few paragraphs. I do enjoy interacting with all of you on the forums here though, and those that do make the cross over and can enjoy both text forums and video, are much appreciated.

We never have to agree on anything, so long as we do so maturely, politely, and with sensible debate. Glad those of you who have listened/watched are enjoying the shows. Do also keep in mind, there are many other shows I produce on D3 which are as short as 1 minute long, so something for everyone's time constraints.

    Hey Diablo Fans -

I want to thank you as a community, and part of the larger D3 community, for allowing us to post these community interest videos here. I think video is an evolution in communication, and in conveying ideas to a large audience. As a lover of text, I was amazed to discover how much I now depend on video for my information feed. I want to thank the mods and community members for participating in these discussions from the videos, and I encourage the conversation to take place here, and on our YT channel.

I don't expect everyone to agree with us 100% of the time, I do expect a polite and interesting discussion about ideas that will forward and develop Diablo 3, as a community, and as a game. I love to read everyone's feedback, both constructive criticism and positive feedback.

Going forward we will commit to providing a text list of the topics covered and main points in the thread here, for those who cannot avail themselves of video at that time. We will also do our best to contribute to the discussion here.

Thanks again Diablo Fans, and community. Here's to a stronger Diablo in 2013.

    Cheers 0/
