Oh, and a followup...
Thats like saying I have a company called "Blue"
and I have a game called "Blue 1: The Destiny."
And someone out there makes a website called "Blue 2"
Now, my company is never going to make a blue 2, but theres been tons of talk about Blue 2, so, my company is going to go ahead and buy blue 2. So now, my company owns Blue 2, and all the rights, but why?
Because my company is just that stupid, right? I mean, we're not making Blue 2 ever, but we went ahead and secured all the rights. That serves a point, right? It actually makes my fans happier, right? I mean, its not going to overhype anything or blow up any news, right?
WRONG.
Blizzard buying Diablo 3 = Everyone knows Diablo 3 is coming.
Blizzard NOT buying Diablo 3 = After a few years, things start to die, slowly, everyone forgets, and Blizzard never owns the franchise rights for Diablo 3 because they NEVER INTENDNED TO MAKE IT.
So, ONCE AGAIN...
You dont buy crap you arent using!

Blizzard would actually SHY away from buying any domains or doing anything related to Diablo 3 whatsoever AT ALL if they lacked any intention to create a Diablo 3.
You need to learn more about company franchising rights.
You don't buy random domains that have nothing to do with products you own unless you are going to use it. -

Diablo 3 isn't part of the Diablo franchise.
You guys are wrong.
Unless, of course, Blizzard has completely bought the trademark and now owns Diablo 3 and all of its assets to control all the domain names, then that means Diablo 3 is coming.
You have to look at it this way.
Blizzard would not go around buying Domain names related to things they havent nor have any intention of creating or created yet. This is like saying Blizzard would buy "www.dolphin.com" just because they want to redirect people to their website.
In short, Blizzard is acquiring all the Diablo 3 domain names because they now own Diablo 3 and everything associated with it. There is only one reason they would own this domain name, and third game name. They waited until the last moment to snatch up www.diablo3.com, because they knew when they did it would basically tell everyone "Hey, Diablo 3 is coming" so they bought up all the smaller domains first in relation to Diablo 3, and then hit the big one, www.diablo3.com itself.
Why did they wait all this time?
1) Its kept fans together.
2) Its the biggest domain for their product. It is diablo3.com itself. They are probably a few months away from actually announcing the product now, because if they weren't, they would've just waited longer to snatch up this domain.
Diablo 3 is coming. There would be NO other reason Blizzard would buy the Diablo3 domains. -

That's like saying they would purchase "Diablo10.com" and not have any intention of making a tenth diablo game when Diablo 10 clearly has nothing to do with their diablo franchise.Posted in: News

1.) Blizzard North is gone and their game was going to look totally different, albeit more like an upgraded Diablo 2.
2.) The new team had to redesign from scratch Diablo 3 in a next-gen look way back in 2007/2008 - it's now 2012.
3.) The way Diablo 1/2 looked could not be emulated in a game separated by over 10 years of time, so they designed a new style for the Diablo franchise. Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 were released within 4 years of each other.
You can only take the top down angle so far with 2 Dimensions, eventually, things must change or it doesn't look right.
Ultimately, I believe the game itself is much better looking than what we would have had, which is: (respectfully, I do think this looks more like Diablo 2, but not in a good way.)

This is about the Mists of Pandaria Press Tour, incase you didn't hear it in the first 10 posts.

At least it's better than not being able to do shit in Patch 13 though, always playing with like two people and stuff being gltichy.

The facts are: Tristram is blatantly changed from the way it was presented to us in Diablo 1 and Diablo 2. It's not just Adria's Hut, that was one of the locations I actually appreciated.
It's the random buildings in Old Tristram and the placement of those odd stone walls that seem to suffocate and close the town in so you move right through it and can't look around it. There's even an additional water well and some other buildings that were never there. I don't even know what the point of that is when they didn't get the main town correct in the first place.
I'd go through and show you picture by picture, but I don't think anyone cares as much as I do. Even in that comparison video posted above, you can clearly see that Gillian's house is turned... Sideways? I don't even know what the point of changing that was - most likely because they wanted to cram Old Tristram in that tiny stone wall box I mentioned, and they had to smoosh shit in. So it's things like that that irritate me.
Things are added, moved, or changed in ways that are immediately apparent to someone who played Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 as long as I did. I was essentially raised off the Tristram in Diablo 1, that was my childhood. I walked into the Old Tristram in Diablo 3 and got chills at the reminders - And then I started seeing all the random shit that wasn't there before or left out. That's all I'm saying.
"Close Enough" isn't good enough for me. But I'll have to get over it.
Bottom line - If you plan to revisit a major area of the first game, copy it brick by brick next time, then age it 20 years. Tristram is one of the most iconic video game locations.

This video shows how off Diablo 3 is in comparison to Diablo 1 and Diablo 2.
They blatantly changed and added things.

Guess that April 17th stuff was BS. Games not coming for a while.

Yeah, that's one of the things I was talking about. It looks goofy. I thought it was a glitch at first.

Not complaining at all, but thanks 3 posts.
Explaining the failure to properly compare Tristram in Diablo 1 and Diablo 3.
