Well What a lovely thread to my my first post (in quite some time on) Diablo 3 just like diablo 2 has been a loot hunting game. The game ends when you get bored of it. I've abandoned the notion of any sort of worthwhile PVP for this game but again diablo 2's PVP was driven by the community not the developers. If you want an ''end game'' such as you suggested go back to WoW. I absolutely hated Diablo 3 when it first came out due to the terrible imbalance, bugs, RMAH, AH and last but not least.. Jay Wilson. Today Diablo 3 is worlds apart from what is what and compared to the ''updates'' you were given in diablo 2 they've given us MUCH MUCH more with Diablo 3 and RoS.

TheTruthAbounds posted a message on D3 has no endgame.Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionI think there is a difference between no endgame, and an end game that could use some additions.
There is certainly an endgame in D3. For some it's great, and for other's, it may be a but lackluster.
Things like trading and pvp *can* be part of an endgame, but aren't required.
For me, I'd just like to see them build on what they've been doing. 2.3 brought a reason to do regular rifts besides grift keys, and a reason to do bounties up until a certain point. I think continuing to encourage players to do different objectives is the best way to extend the endgame. -

Thornagol posted a message on Lvl 50 Gem Effect IdeasPosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionI think that adding a lv 50 effect is good. I would like to see the gems be more balanced though. I think all legendary gems should have 1 DPS benefit, 1 survival benefit, and 1 improves a secondary stat. On that note, I would like to see more legendaries that incorporate the use of secondary stats to help change the nature of end game builds.

This is way too powerful. IMO it would be the best gem for almost any build that utilizes ATS and CD. Just movement and increase the stacks to 20.
GOGOK OF SWIFTNESS
-50.0+x% chance on hit to gain Swiftness, increasing your Attack Speed by 1% for 4 seconds. This effect stacks up to 15 times.
-Gain 1% Cooldown Reduction per stack of Swiftness.(Requires Rank 25)
-Each stack of swiftness grants 1% Movement Speed, 1% Critical Hit Damage and 1% Critical Hit Chance. (Requires Rank 50)
- This would be a nice bump to the gem, allowing it to be more widely beneficial, but not too overly broken
Other than that like already mentioned the idea itself is good but your suggestions need alot of tweaks -

Zamaze posted a message on Lvl 50 Gem Effect IdeasPosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionBANE OF THE STRICKEN
-Each attack you make against an enemy increases the damage it takes from your attacks by 0.80+x%.
-Gain 25% increased damage against bosses and Rift Guardians. (Requires Rank 25)
-After applying 20 stacks you gain a 1+x% damage buff and 15% movement speed while active. (Requires Rank 50)"
this makes no sense the only time your stacking sticken is elites and rgs when you dont need additional speed. It also doesnt really fit with the theme of the gem (killing high hp targets)
BANE OF THE TRAPPED
-Increase damage against enemies under the effects of control-impairing effects by 15.00+x%.
-Gain an aura that reduces the movement speed of enemies within 15 yards by 30%. (Requires Rank 25)
-Reduces the amount of damage enemies affected by the aura do to you by 10+x%. (Requires Rank 50)
This is already a op gem giving it dr would only make it even worse. If the lvl 50 perk was going to be defensive it would make more sense to reduce attack speed of enemies to keep with the slowing theme.
NVIGORATING GEMSTONE
-While under any control-impairing effects, reduce all damage taken by 30.0+x%.
-Heal for 20% of maximum life when hit by a control-impairing effect. (Requires Rank 25)
-Your Defensive skills now hold 2 times the amount of charges.(Requires Rank 50)
This gem is to broken to tweak, it needs an overhaul. Theres plenty of classes that can block cc so it does nothing. Also not all classes have charges on defensive skills.
It should be more like
-When targeted by a cc spell (even if your immune) gain 10+x% increased damage and take 30+x% reduced damage for 30 seconds
- You become immune to all cc effects
-Gain an absorb sheild for 100% of your hp when target by a cc spell
MORATORIUM
-25% of all damage taken is instead staggered and dealt to you over 3.00+x seconds.
-10% chance on kill to clear all staggered damage. (Requires Rank 25)
-While suffering from staggered damage your blood spills outwards in
all directions, dealing 1000+x% of the amount of damage you are taking.
(Requires Rank 50)
Again needs to be altered
- 25+x% of damage is staggered over 15 seconds
-1% chance on crit to clear all staggered damage
-Clearing staggered damage causes your blood spill thing or alternativly transfers the staggered damage to all enemies in 10-15 yards
MUTILATION GUARD
-Gain 10.0+x% melee damage reduction.
-While below 30% Life, you may move unhindered through enemies. (Requires Rank 25)
-Gain 500+x% Thorns damage and gain a 10% chance to ignore incoming melee attacks.(Requires Rank 50)
Thorns is getting its own gem. Sader builds with the new thorns set are already quite strong so not a great choice

You don't even need to worry about that, either, come next patch. You can convert one of your characters to season, play it, get your rewards, and then it will be merged back into your original one.Quote from Slayerviper

already farmed plenty, the issue is I have to waste months worth of
gaming time on a char that I will delete because it takes up a character

Currently, we can see our best time for the highest greater rift we've completed with each type of character. But I would also love to see my best time for each greater rift level. For example, even though I can complete level 65 greater rifts, I'd still love to see my fastest time for a level 5 greater rift, or level 25 greater rift.
This would make it enjoyable to attempt speed runs on each greater rift level and would promote speed builds that balance speed and damage. It adds a lot of replay value to lower level grifts and makes leveling up gems a bit more enjoyable. Imagine what the Leaderboard times for a level 1 greater rift would be!
It's easy to implement, adds another fun solo goal to play towards, and adds another level of competition to those looking for world's best times.
Thoughts?
