Diablo is one of the few games I still get childlike excitement for when it comes to announcements. Would love to watch Blizzcon! Fingers crossed for a new expansion! Heck, I'm still pumping hours into this game at crazy rate. Love it.

Jan 18, 2013CorruptCamel posted a message on Message from Jay WilsonI don't doubt Jay did the best job he could. He had the challenge of making a genre of game that hadn't been done really well since the last Diablo. Since then games have changed drastically. Anyone who thinks Jay could've release a game just like D2 and all would've been well is kidding themselves. Jay had a huge challenge and I think he did well. Of course much changes needed to be made, but much of the changes have already been made and many are still to come.Posted in: News
I wish he could be around to direct the game to its final product, but his fingerprints will be on this game forever and I think, for the most part, he did a great job. There are always haters of games, and I'm glad Bilzzard heeds their advice to some extent, but some people are so rude because they've never had or will never have a job this big. Cheers Jay, you did a great job. It's clear you you put blood, sweat, and tears in to this. I played a lot of hours and am not even close to done yet. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I have a HD 5550 and it's a disaster. Constant driver crashes and bugs with D3. It is quite old though, so it's probably time for an upgrade.

Currently, we can see our best time for the highest greater rift we've completed with each type of character. But I would also love to see my best time for each greater rift level. For example, even though I can complete level 65 greater rifts, I'd still love to see my fastest time for a level 5 greater rift, or level 25 greater rift.
This would make it enjoyable to attempt speed runs on each greater rift level and would promote speed builds that balance speed and damage. It adds a lot of replay value to lower level grifts and makes leveling up gems a bit more enjoyable. Imagine what the Leaderboard times for a level 1 greater rift would be!
It's easy to implement, adds another fun solo goal to play towards, and adds another level of competition to those looking for world's best times.
Thoughts?

I'm okay with people complaining about a lack of end game, but only if some valid and well thought out ideas on how to expand the end game are included in that complaint.
I think the constant addition of new and improved content has been great. I play, enjoy for a while, get bored, take a break and return refreshed for the new content next season. I'm still excited for every new season and the changes that come along with it.

I like the idea of a second effect at level 50. They'd have to be careful implementing it as it would definitely change the balance immensely. Perhaps quality of life or minor changes such as gold find, pick up radius, movement speed, chance of death breaths or gems dropping, etc. could make it easier to implement without changing the meta game too much.

Splitting paragons into tiers for leaderboard ranking is a great idea. We could still have the overall rank, which includes all paragon levels, but I would be curious to see where I fell within the certain ranks and if I could even hit the top 1000 as I usually only play to p600-p800 in a season before taking a break until the next patch. This would definitely help create some extra interest in the end game without putting in the 100s of hours the elite players do.
As the OP mentioned, only using 800 paragon points (rather than however many they have) would allow players to compete in any tier lower than
that they've reached. I wouldn't be concerned with gear quality, but rather legendary gem level. Perhaps the gems' level could be capped at a certain level based on the tier. For example p0-p800, leg gems could be capped at 60 or 70 (or whatever makes most sense).
For those who don't want to participate in tiers, they don't have to. They'd still be competing normally for personal solo goals and towards the overall leaderboard. Nothing would change for them. I suppose to indicate this, you'd need to select your tier from the grift menu, with the default being the overall tier (no caps, no restrictions).
I was trying to think of other potential issues, and mainly only group grifts come to mind. Averaging the paragon levels is interesting, as mentioned by the OP, but I assume we'd see people with paragon level 1 in the grift with super high paragon level toons to lower the average. While it's a smart strategy, it's boring. I think holding the group players to the same restrictions as the solo players makes the most sense.
Regardless, I think this idea is excellent and applaud the OP's well thought out post.

Tuesday=patch, Friday night=season start
just like with 2.1 and S1
Thanks, a few days is plenty. Looking forward to it.

Couldn't find an answer to this. I'd personally prefer a week or 2 gap to move season 1 equipment around non-seasonal stash and characters, add new paragon points, and figure out what is worth keeping and what can be salvaged.

He's right, Legendaries wouldn't work. Some EFs are garbage. Gems and crafting materials are consistently the same no matter what.
