It's hard to tell you care about this game when you post that you haven't played in forever and rant about the poe train that noone here obviously cares about. The 8,000th time I ran to an enemy instead of casting a spell at them because of the terrible targeting system in POE plus the 25 hours I spent as a barbarian where I realized that 2h weapons were just terrible and I had to start over to get all those points back made me jump back to d3. My eyes immediately thanked me and my head stopped exploding about all of the stupid item conversions, not to mention the unexplained constant balancing act between spell level and mana cost just made me angry all the time. If you want a good implementation of a very complex skill system, look at sacred 2. You should be able to find it on pc (and console, gasp!) for like $10.

posted a message on Less drops in each playthrough on Normal?
He's talking specifically about boss drops. The "normal first time drops" he's talking about are the drops when you kill a boss for the very first time with that character. When the game originally came out, only bosses on Normal had guaranteed drops.

I've played through several characters including hardcore and softcore and don't notice worse drops the second time around.

MP1 will be superior to MP5 for item finding too. I can throw math at you if you're curious, but you get far more opportunities for drops at mp1 than you get chances at better loot on mp5. The only things I really do above mp3 or so are key/uber runs. My wiz runs 500 RA, 3-4k armor and about 30k hp and doesn't get one hit by most stuff. Of course my life steal is going to be higher than yours, but I think you can reach higher ehp numbers than that pretty easily.

This is such an ignorant post. (please don't take that the wrong way)

Magic find in this game has been explored exhaustively and proven conclusively that if you are killing the same monsters in the same quantity in the same amount of time, the person with the higher MF wins that competition every time over a long enough time period.

The key there is all of the variables that are held constant. If you have 10% less magic find on MP1 than you do on MP6 and you go through twice as many monsters, you will find more legendaries on MP1, that's just math!

posted a message on Quick question about crafting
Brimstones come 100% from legendaries that require level 60 to equip. I believe there is a 1% chance of them coming from blues and yellows that are lvl 61+

From my own personal experience, the number is probably closer to 0.5%

Anyway, you don't want to craft anything right now. When you play anything past Act 2 MP0 (and all of MP1+) every item you find has it's affixed rolled from the level 63 range. Craft items don't currently go any higher than 62. I think myself and everyone else are saving Brimstones for the inevitable crafting patch coming who-knows-when.

Perhaps a lesson in statistics is necessary for those of you that don't think prices will drop drastically?

4.5% crit chance is top now on rings and is an outlier. If rings then suddenly roll to 10% those 4.5% rings become way less valuable. esp with the rings now rolling stats based to the monster level instead of the random drop level. If every ring you drop rolls ilvl 63 stats now instead of the 20% or whatever chance you had a ring to be lvl 63 before, you're going to have waaaay more 63 lvl affix rings rolling around (~80% more). A 4.5% ring was valuable before because it was the max value and now it's going to be less that even half of that high value... i mean seriously, how can that not be a huge reduction in price? Compare the difference in price between two trifecta rings, both with high crit dmg and high attack speed... the one with 4.5% crit chance compared to 2.5% crit chance... the difference is Millions and Millions.
