posted a message on What items do you pick up, how do you price them?
There are several topics on this already if you do a search. Basically it depends on what you're trying to do. If you're looking to mostly just paragon level up then I would blow through everything and just pick up legendaries, ilvl 63 weapons, and jewelry. If you're looking to make money at the same time I would pick up every single yellow and orange you see. ID'ing and selling crap legendaries is still a more effective way of making money than blowing past all of them.

As to pricing, just go into your sell tab and right click on the item and do a "search for similar item" and remove the useless affixes and sort by lowest buyout price. If you really want to sell your item, list yours for 60% of the lowest buyout price. Even then some stuff doesn't sell.

Rings/Amulets/Gloves need to have at least 2 of the trifecta stats (Crit chance, Crit damage, Attack speed).

Anything with base stat+vit+armor+resist all will sell unless the numbers are low

Weapons need to be 900 dps or higher for 1h, 1200 or higher for 2h and they have to have good stats. If you don't have a couple of : life steal, high life on hit, crit damage, base stat, socket then 99% of the weapons are trash.

Bracers, Helms, and Off hand items almost have to have high crit chance (6, 6, and 10 I think)

Helms, pants, and chests almost need to have max sockets (1,2,3 respectively) to even be considered.

Did I miss anything? If you have a specific question let me know.

^exactly. Also, fyi, I have an amulet and a ring that both have about 4-500 LOH that I swap into when dealing with reflect damage. They also have the unintended consequence of dropping my dps about 40k, which actually helps quite a bit because with the lower dps, I'm taking less dmg from the reflect mob as well. It's quick and easy to do so it doesn't take much time and when you're done with that mob, swap the two pieces back and move on.

    Quote from Bagstone

You're right in saying that Storm Armor is always better in terms of DPS compared to Energy Armor, but there are two things worth mentioning:
    1) Storm Armor only makes sense if things ever come close to you
    2) Energy Armor with Pinpoint Barrier is less about the dps and the armor bonus, but about the 5% more crit to add on your CM procs.

Storm armor hits things barely on the edge of the screen (I've had it attack mobs on the other side of a tree that I couldn't even see on my screen, so I'm guessing the range is farther than that). Are you talking about the crit proc rune? I use the extra dmg (100->130%) rune so the range of enemies doesn't matter.

The bolts can crit as well, so I'm assuming they will have a chance of proc'ing CM. I haven't tested it honestly.

posted a message on WW conversion help
Trying to get my wife able to switch over to a WW build, but I don't have a whole lot of barbarian experience. Suggestions?

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/GrayWorm-1278/hero/3952412

We will be switching the shield out for a 3% LS/Crit dmg weapon and the helm will be replaced with something that has Str/RA/CC.

Abilities are obviously still on her old build, but the passives are the same.

posted a message on Storm Armor Proc Rate
I think the extra attack per second always going to be better than 5% crit change from pinpoint barrier. If you figure your dps at 100k and your crit dmg at 250% and attack speed at 2.5, then a 5% crit chance is going to add about 12,500 dps. With those same figures tho, you're adding 40,000 per second with each storm armor hit. If you add in the damage from the rune that shocks enemies based on crit proc, I'm sure the number itself is quite higher and I know the lightning has a chance of hitting a crit as well. I think the real difference here is the armor bonus and whether or not you need it.

(for the mathematically inclined, I took the dps multiplied by 2.5 for crit dmg and multiplied by .05 for the addition of the extra 5% crit chance. It's been a while since I took a math class and admittedly the diablo system of figuring damage is a little more convoluted than I care to figure out. If you feel my numbers are off, I would appreciate an explaination into where I did my math wrong)

posted a message on Elemental damage on weapons.
^ you wouldn't be royally screwed, you would just get less added from your bonuses since the +x% dmg only applies to your physical weapon damage and not the fire portion of Chantodo's Will. All weapons have some dmg portion that is not based on elemental damage.

you should check out elemental arrow-ball lightning if you haven't already. I think it's far superior to supression fire since it deals with mobs and elites equally as well.

here's a link to the profile: http://us.battle.net...I would upgrade your boots first since you aren't wearing any ;)

I dunno if this is where I would start, but MF on your gloves is something you can/should lose in favor or crit damage and attack speed. Each MP you go up gives you a 25% MF bonus in addition to other stuff, so I really think you should be shooting to get your character as powerful as possible rather than focus on MF on equipment. Dropping a piece of 20% MF like your pants for something that gives you a lot more Dex/RA will end up better for you in the long run if it means you can do mp4.

posted a message on How much resists will I need for low MP farming?
That's a little low, but with your LOH it should be fine as long as your dps/armor/vit numbers are ok.

posted a message on How much resists do you need now?
It's a lot easier (and cheaper) to get to 70-80% resist all, 70-80% damage reduction from armor, and get some LOH/LS and dodge/block than it is to just stack RA and ignore the others.

Don't underestimate DPS either, your RA, Armor, and Vit scores are meaningless if you can't kill quickly. Having a higher DPS will increase your survivability a lot more than any defensive ability when you get to the point where you can take several hits from elites.

posted a message on What rare items do u leave on the ground?
the BASE stats on the item are still based on the item level, only the affix ranges are at monster level

I've done several run analysis scenarios with different MPs and acts with my 300%GF DH and ID'ing and vendoring rares is by far the most efficient way to make money (money made/time spent). Of course from a statistical perspective, the number will be inflated greatly because it takes very little time to ID and sell rares, but still, the numbers may be insignificant from a single sell off perspective, but they add up a lot in the long run.

This story is exactly why they needed to increase the drop rates for legendaries... you have to find multiple copies of the same thing before you RNG into something that's *Actually* useful. Vile Wards with vitality and/or MF still fetch a ton of money.

    Quote from Westy357

Radiant Stars cost 400,000 gold plus the extra stuff to craft. Yes the prices have come drastically, which suits me just fine.

Not sure why they came down so fast, maybe more people up farming in areas they never were before ?

Radiant Stars from Perfect Stars maybe, but if you're combining for yourself, you have to start at flawless sq which is considerably more than 400k. Unless you are buying Perfs on the AH, but to make money, you're still going to have to be selling the Rads for at least ((3 x Perf cost)+400,000)*1.15 otherwise why combine them?

(PS, it costs 15,400,000 to combine a Radiant Star from Flawless Squares)

posted a message on What happened to Gem prices????
Multiple theories abound... I think the three most likely are:

1)The RMAH conversion has more to do with the price than the craft cost.
2)People are quitting and trying to liquidate stuff to sell gold and don't care about losing money on the combine costs.
3)Someone somewhere has figured out how to illegally duplicate items.
