posted a message on Please can someone explain to me why play the same game as last season?????

Please don't make nonconstructive low-quality threads that keep me from playing the game I like just because you dislike it: This is bait, and you got some people who jumped, but please don't do this. Enjoy whatever you play, whether it's Diablo or anything else. Have a nice weekend. Locked.

posted a message on "MY BUILD/POST/THREAD DISAPPEARED" - report in here please!

Interesting. It was indeed marked as spam - but only when I went to the link; there was no way for me to find it somewhere else in the system.

It's fixed now. I'd advise to wait 10-15 minutes before making any edits as the spam system is a bit of a slow learner sometimes ;-)

I don't see those builds. Not in the spam system, not on your account. Do you maybe still have the links in your browser history? Otherwise... I have no idea what happened.

posted a message on Brainless Builds Comparison: Sage's set builds (with videos)

I tried the Tal EB build on HC yesterday, but since in the beginning you have no In-Geom/Goldwrap up and I have really bad gear for it right now, I procced almost immediately and chickened out. Went back to UE MS DH which wrecks T13 (on HC, unbelievable). I'll probably also start a DH in S12 (though I might only play a few hours, barely any time these days) - so that's really the main reason why I personally have neither time nor interest in doing this all over again. But if anyone feels like they need a time filler until season start, give it a go an re-test all the builds ;-)

hey bagstone any chance to see an updated list for 2.6.1? arent you running short of DBs yet? :D

I'm running out of mats, not DBs :P

I need DBs on HC, but can't really test there for multiple reasons (not enough gear, no DBs... oh the irony, and obviously every death means end of testing :P).

So no update planned - also because it took a ton of time and I don't have that time right now, and I couldn't just test one or two builds but I'd have to test them all. However, as pointed out I think running Sage's on T13 isn't worth it anyways (you'll always sacrifice more power than the small increase in DBs), and on T10-T11 now all those builds are insanely viable. So basically: either run non-Sage T13 on your preferred class, or try any of the builds, including the "lower ones" that are now much more powerful even on T10+.

posted a message on Challenge Rifts - A missed opportunity or an unfinished mode

I just hope it doesn't mean it's the other way round next week - I don't want to have a CR to eat 20 minutes into the season. For me I only do challenge rifts if I can one-shot them, just for the mats; if they take more than 15 minutes I may as well do a bounty so no benefit anymore.

Let's see if CRs come up at Blizzcon.

posted a message on 2 man meta 2.6.1

2 man competition is really low, so there's never really a "meta". Really far into the season you even sometimes see two DPS combining their forces and playing together - if you can solo a high GR, you can also do a 2 man high GR on a similar level, especially if one forces on trash and the other one single target (and the trash killer can drop Stricken for Esoteric or so).

In several seasons everyone quit and we were only 2 people left so we just played the two classes that we enjoyed most. I think we've probably tried about every class as zDPS (maybe except for necro and DH because didn't like them) and every class as DPS... and just continued to push with what we enjoyed the most. Then you filter diablorank.com 2p rankings and see if you're #1 "without class X" or whatever the meta is. At the end of the day, rankings are about paragon anyways, and that's impossible to combat since Blizzard hasn't banned botters recently and paragon is absolutely skyrocket in S12 with the power creep - so instead of focusing on "what's best" and "how to get rank #1" I'd strongly recommend to play whatever you enjoy most and set your own goals and satisfy yourself with "well, we were #1 legit players of this combination" rather than "yay, we made rank #253 with the cookie cutter combo".

posted a message on Season Journey Tracker

Holy crap... okay, this is awesome :o

I actually received an inquiry a while ago about localization, and postponed it to almost indefinitely due to time issues. However, this might force my hand now. I'll see if I can spare a minute, probably on Wednesday or Thursday, to add proper localization. Not sure how exactly - but hey, this entire thing only came up because I wanted to get back into web dev, so I might as well keep doing so.

In the meantime (or the event that work permits me to add this promised localization): Awesome stuff, thanks ceving!

    Quote from Mr_Gordons»

Apparently the datamined primal droprate is something like 0.3% instead of the 1% Bliz stated. The ancient droprate worked out to basically 10% as promised

The 1% droprate never went to live, it was only 1% in the very beginning of the PTR when ancients were introduced. Some people kept track over hundreds of drops (there were spreadsheets shared a while ago on Reddit) from which we believe it to be something between 0.2% and 0.4%, though it seemed to have converged towards 0.2%-0.25%. Do you have a source for the .3% datamine? That'd be interesting.

posted a message on Wow 3105 bounty mats gone forever..

On average. one in ten items is ancient, so when using 3105 bounty mats for re-rolling you should've gotten (on average) 62.1 ancients. If what you say is true you're really really unlucky. Is it impossible though? No. We don't know the exact primal droprate but it's probably something like one in 200 or 250, so not getting a primal is also slightly unlucky but not at all impossible; out of 20 people who spend 3k bounty mats one is expected to not get a primal. So you were just the unlucky 20th person here. Not unreasonable at all.

Regarding ancient droprates we could speculate if they're higher or lower this patch; I have my own opinion here but to be honest, this belongs into the RNG thread. I'll be monitoring this thread here but for now it looks like there's not much constructive talk going on.

In an attempt to be constructive, I have to say, using bounty mats to re-roll a Karlei's Point is... the worst possible use of bounty mats. Karlei's Point is an exceptional item for one specific reason: it's by far the easiest item to acquire through the "upgrade rare" recipe as there's only two daggers a DH can get. As bounty mats are far more precious (at least to me) than "normal" mats, I would use the upgrade rare recipe in an attempt to get a better Karlei's Point. I know there's no mathematical equation for which is better; it depends on what you have available. But that's my suggestion for anyone trying to get a better dagger.

But at the end of the day it's all RNG and there's NEVER a guarantee to get any item.

If johnstone can be retroactively nerfed, the likelihood of the above explanation with technical issues, is weak or being addressed only to those items that actually benefit from previous versions.

That is true, normal legendaries can indeed be changed retroactively (see Rimeheart and Furnace a long time ago). It's *different* from a technical viewpoint, but not impossible, so my "the technology isn't there yet" is more to be taken as a meme. After re-reading Nevalistis' post I actually realized that it leaves some room for interpretation, so maybe it's just also a deliberate decision to not tamper with existing items (anyone who has ever done coding knows that changing one variable can cause 10 others to break). Or maybe there's something in the implementation that truly makes certain changes more difficult (some of the items were semi-retroactively changed, like Dead Man's Legacy which looks like the new version but just with a lower roll).

I still can't believe that UE MS is now a viable speed GR build. So much fun to clear an entire screen in GR90+ in a few shots :)

posted a message on Is this for real???

There was a long debate about this on the official forums.

    https://us.battle.net/forums/en/d3/topic/20758567953

Basically, they were discussing this internally but decided to maintain their current approach (retroactively buff sets, but not legendaries). It's safe to say that it's mainly because of technical reasons, and whether that's normal legendaries, ancients, or primals, makes no difference - "the technology just isn't there yet".

For me personally, as someone who has never been a "season pushing player" but likes the continuity of non-season, it gives me new goals to farm. I've already gambled/cubed the new DH weapons yesterday (speedfarming GR90s with Multishot is just SO MUCH FUN) and now I've got some things to do on other classes as well. To be honest, I always complain about the loot hunt being so quickly over, at least compared to D2, so it isn't all that bad in my opinion. Also let's be clear - the list of items you have to replace isn't that long, it's about 5 per class and usually 1-2 per build or so. Some builds even didn't get any changes (like MH wizards) and some got changed a bit more (like the new SWK mechanics or the 3 items we need to re-acquire or UE MS DH). It's not like you're salvaging your entire stash.

RE: OP - just ask for the "Malthael quest" in a public community and people will help out (I've done this recently myself when I had to unlock adventure mode on NA+Asia). Takes one minute. No need to play through entire campaign if you don't want to.
