May 14, 2013Rhye posted a message on Addressing Security Issues, AH Exploits Still Under Review, Preparing for D3's First Anniversary, ZzEzZ's Proc Coefficient List,I find it hilarious that they celebrate the games first year live, and at the same time talk about security issues and AH exploits. That's something they should have been done with 1 month into the game. Also, I really thought we'd have some kind of random dungeon generator or custom maps by now. Maybe some kind of survival mode or a few more uberbosses.Posted in: News & Announcements
Nono, it's all about "finding players near you" and "now you can have a message next to your name to broadcast to all your friends". Stop making this game into facebook and give us some content
May 10, 2013Group is by far better for reasons already stated, but also because in a group you'll farm more intensely. That is my experience at least. Everyone wants NOT to be the one holding the group back and will therefore avoid going afk, spend time on AH in between runs, etc. When I solo I tend to lose focus which in turn will nerf my xp gain.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

If you don't even need all your fingers to count up to your rank I hardly think there is a need for a search function. Diabloprogress is a unnecessary poison for this game that enforces players to both pay and compete for the absolute wrong reasons, had to be said.
I have no problem understanding where you are coming from. I understand that this may "force" people into feeling that they have to pay to win. But you don't have to. I sure didn't. Not a dime has left my credit card. And believe me: my motivation for playing doesn't come from "how high is my ranking". I love to smash monsters, just like everyone else. Also, if I was rank-addicted I would have gone for DPS ranking. But 450k ub monks are unplayable at MP10 (in my eyes). And MP10 is where the fun stuff happens
No reason for such a list? I just want to see the top 100 or so to see how players evolve and to see what's going on. I can see that now as well, but I would have to search manually since there are a lot of shield wearers. The "need" is in the eye of the beholder.
Apr 18, 2013Hello there!Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I've recently found myself in the top 10 list on diabloprogress (pvp dummy, which is eHP and DPS combined) and I'm kinda proud of that to be honest. Pride is relative ofc., it's only a game, but still...
Now, my question is this. There are only 2-3 in the top 10 that dual wield. The others use shields. I would like to know if there are rankings like this where you can add "dual wield" as a search option to weed out the shield wearers. Is there such a thing? Are there other sites like diabloprogress?
Thanks in advance!
Top 20 EU monks ranked by PvP dummy. I'm Neph btw
Mar 1, 2013I would start by upgrading the other ring. Your Hellfire Ring is not worth using in my opinion. Use it when you want to grind out Paragon levels, but find a ring with crit chance. You will most likely lose some dex and some average dmg, but there are some very nice rings out there for your budget.Posted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary
I would also suggest that you use Mantra of Conviction: Overawe instead of Mantra of Retribution. It's one of our best skills and using anything else is a dps downgrade.
Echoing Fury may increase your character sheet dps, but when you run after a feared mob, you aren't doing dps. Those on the top 10 on the dps rankings use Echoing Fury, but those of us that use weapons with no fear-proc will do more damage since the mobs are standing in our Sweeping Wind aoe.
Jan 18, 2013I've got 15k Flawless Square Rubies/Emeralds on my "bank alts". Just waiting for the patch to go live. I couldn't care less about the extra 4 dex on each gem. I look forward to cash in my gems and go nuts on the AH.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Hopefully the increased prices on Radient gems will increase the price on Flawless Square gems as well
Account bound gems? Sure. Fine. Account bound crafted gear however? Not fine. A part of the thrill of crafting is the chance to get something to sell (if you can't use it yourself). Gems that cost THIS much if just for bragging rights. I know I won't craft them for myself right away, but maybe further down the line.

Mar 7, 2013I motion officially changing Turtel's member title from a simple Cantor to M.I.A. or Master of Items Affixes.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Because I feel like everywhere I check, any questions regarding item properties, rolls, quantity of affixes, etc. are singlehandedly answered by him.

hold it right there buddy, let me stop you now.
Yeah I didn't peddle anything on AH so as you imagine I'm poor as dirt - 15 mil from farming mind you. So I bought the recipe for the archon armor of goddamned awesomeness for 1.5 mil and 10 rolls later I got something that was ok for my needs. not imba, but... ok. That's 3 mil off the bat. After crafting some 10 ammys and 10 shoulders out of which nothing good came (that's what, 2 more mil?) I noticed that the new IMBA craft mod is just a shitty gold sink meant to part those of us that don't use the ah and most specifically the rmah to buy gold of our hard earned resources.
So don't give me crap about the new crafting, as it is just a gimmick.
If you were poor, why did you go the route where you spent 1.5 million gold for the pattern to start as well as the item with the highest per-craft gold cost? I'm not poor and I didn't even bother with the chest patterns until I had a decent set of gloves, bracers, and shoulders to start. 10 chests plus a pattern is 3 million gold. Instead of 10 crafts for that price you could have had 60 total crafts of gloves, bracers, and shoulders. For someone on a limited budget it would seem that 60 shots at gloves, bracers, and shoulders would almost certainly have a better return on investment than just 10 shots at chests.
I see some severe user error here and very poor prioritization and not the gigantic systemic flaw that you think exists.
Jan 24, 2013Bagstone posted a message on "The Complete Diablo Fix", On Gameplay and The Auction House, TryHard: Witch Doctor Legendary GuideWhat I don't get why people spend so much time on these forums bitching about a game they didn't get. "I love the franchise" is not an excuse.Posted in: News & Announcements
I loved Fallout 1+2, Fallout 2 is probably my all-time favorite game. When Bethesda made F3, I tried it, and hated it. For me they completely killed the atmosphere. However, the game got superb ratings, many people loved it, both novices to and lovers of the franchise. So I moved on, never spend a minute thinking about what F3 could have been or bitching about what it has become.

What are you exactly saying? your totally lost me, How can it not be fantastic to get a 3 week vacation to australia sponsored by a game you play for fun? What does that have to do with football or your irl job? where is the logic in the gibberish you say? Trolling much?
Because it's not fun to me and the fact that you can earn some money doesn't help anyhow.
You called it "fantastic", I say it's not. If we were both playing a football match I'd say that you made something "fantastic" if you made an exceptional goal, not because you were wearing a wonderful pair of sockets. Ain't it?
But if you want to call it "fantastic" because you made 6k € having fun... Yeah! That's great but, again, most of the people that have a job and like it do earn quite as much as you did (at least here in western Europe) and have almost as much fun as you, so I wouldn't say "fantastic".
But maybe it's just me because I'm used to have fun with my job.
And I won't hijack your topic talking about what I find entertaining in Diablo 3.
Those 90% that make loss are the ones the make the other 10% gain. That's the same in Diablo 3. And Forex is way easier than other trading markets, nonetheless it requires education. Just like you need when you play with the D3 AH.
Thank you. And continue doing so with a smile.Quote from Ourumov

I hate to be the guy that brings up the fact that you selfishly purchased underpriced items and manipulated the market to give yours a selling advantage for your personal gain, and thus artificially inflated the economy for whoever was purchasing your goods. But hey. "congrats"
I hate you and your type, specifically since you mentioned AH sniping and flipping.
Don't hate the player? Hate the game? Yeah I hate that Blizz brought out the worst in people by making it seem ok to behave like this.
Grats on your personal gain to the dismay of people who actually want to use those items in game. You're a genuine AH tycoon.
And you hate me, for doing what people do in a game with an economy. I honestly could not care less.

what a load of bliz PR horseshit, the section on pvp and the launch is just crap, "In terms of the actual game, our development team had total say on if and when Diablo III was ready for release, and we shipped it only after we felt it had met our vision for what a great game could be on day 1."
i would barely rate it sub-par on day one, based on connectivity and server issues alone.
So, you have say 2mil people play on your Open Beta weekend, figuring there will be a fair bit more for launch, maybe double that, based on pre-order info from retailers and digital orders + annual pass.
Turns out your estimations were off by about 100%.
HOW do you plan for that? Overcompensate to the point of ridiculousness, only to have to sit with unused hardware (refering to your connectivity and server issues).
I think they did damn well, considering that their servers got so heavily flooded on launch, they had no idea it was gonna be that bad. And Mike Morhaime ADMITTED TO IT. They planned based on expectations from retailer info and digital sales. The fact it doubled that or something crazy was beyond their scope of knowledge. Would you like them to start working with Ms Cleo to determine what the playerbase and customer wants, to try and pre-emp all our demands and interests?
