posted a message on How do you farm?
So, I've noticed that different classes and specs farm differently. A TR/Bell monk or Firebats WD will group up a billion mobs on the highest MP tolerable, while a pure TR monk or WW barb will just try to run through as many mobs as possible. Likewise an Archon wizard will probably farm differently than an SNS wizard or a sleet storm wizard. So I'm curious about how the people of diablofans like to farm with their wizards. In particular:

    1) What zones do you like? Do you like to get your 5 stacks of NV and do long runs or do you like to rush your favorite zone and reset?
    2) What spec do you like to farm with and what kind of gear do you have?
    3) What MP do you do? Do you try to push it to the max, go super easy, or go somewhere in the middle?

I personally farm MP5 with a cookie cutter archon spec, 200k buffed sheet dps and 255k eps. I always do super long runs starting with festering woods (to get 5 stacks) then onto fields of misery, weeping hollow, and then I'll run through halls of agony until I hit a dead end. I also go into any dungeons I find. I feel like this is better than just doing one zone because I get to run through the two best zones in the game with a 5 stack of NV, but I haven't timed it. It's also fun to kill elites instead of running past them.

posted a message on What methods do you use to study?
I'm a math major, and I study by working problems. I'll read the relevant chapters until I read a problem that makes me go "Wait, what?" and then I'll solve that one. Getting the answer typically involves rereading sections of the chapter and reviewing theorems, which are both important for the test. Plus most people learn best through action, and things make a lot more sense in the context of a problem than they do when read off of a page.

Thanks guys, I'll look into getting more IAS and the chantodo's set. I don't think I'll need to sell all my gear, since I use it for farming in archon and I realize that I logged out in about half of my MF set. I think my buy order will be this:

    1) Lacuni Prowlers + Tal Rasha's chest (at the same time, since I don't want to loose the 12% ms from Tyrael's Might. First since I can still use them for mp0 farming)
    2) Chantodo's wand/OH
    3) Witching hour (I'm actually kicking myself cause I found a good one of these and sold it instead of keeping it.)
Also I'll look for IAS jewlery as I go. I find that you can occasionally find some really good stuff by just watching.

posted a message on MP4-MP5 is the MOST EFFICIENT way to loot
Wouldn't it depend on gear? If you have enough dps to one shot mobs in mp4 then of course it's going to be more efficient than one shotting mobs in mp3. But if in mp5 you have to use two or three shots, it won't be as efficient. Right?

I typically use archon for exp farming but I only have about 100k dps buffed, so I tend to stick with mp0. I can also do mp1 but the elites actually take more than a second to kill so I don't typically bother. The way I see it, more killing is basically the same as more magic find. Though I run MF gear anyways since it doesn't hurt my dps much and I still see legendaries drop every few runs on mp0.

Yea, I saw that before. What's the best way to get to 2.51 aps though? Chantodo's set is a bit out of my price range.

Edit: Actually, I could buy a cheap chantodo wand and a chantodo OH with no APoC. That would bring me to 1.835 APS. Still not quite there.

    Here's my guy: d3/en/profile/Vuxra-1773/hero/3419164

I just recently got the blackthorne's pants and necklace so I have super high LoH now. I can do mp3 with ease, and I can get mp4 with a few deaths. However I feel super squishy, even with all the LoH. Are there any gear tips people could give me to get into higher monster powers? I'd like to be able to farm 5-6 for keys since I hate low drop rates on keys. I have a seperate higher dps gear set that I use to farm MP0 really quickly, so gear that works for both would be good but really I just want to start farming rings.

It's kind of frustrating that I've spent like 50m on this guy and I still can't farm higher monster powers.

If I'm running the critical mass build and I use cold blooded, explosive blast, and triumvirate; does the cold damage from triumvirate activate cold blooded?

It's funny you mention the Arcane Orb build, it's what I was using to farm up the gold for Skorn. I switched to Archon because it lets me farm act II really fast. I tried CM a while ago, but I didn't like it.

Won't let me post links, but the last bit of the battle net url for my page is /d3/en/profile/Vuxra-1773/hero/3419164

I've been farming act I for ages, and I've had a few lucky legendary drops. I recently used all my gold to buy a nice Skorn with lifesteal and intellect. I'm up to just under 60k dps unbuffed and 120k EHP before blur/archon. I can do act II easily with archon, but I can't seem to get act III down without a lot of deaths.

What gear should I be working on? What would I need before act III becomes a viable alternative to act II as far as speed and ease are concerned? and what farming routes are good for archon in act II? I've been just running the three zones before Zoltun Kule and then killing him.
