thanks all for the replies, i've swapped out a bunch of MF gear for more DPS and survive-ability. up to 72K DPS, ~36K life, and ~200AR. still died to stupid stuff in act 3 but noticed a big improvement of not dying. haven't had a chance to run much so not sure how the drops compare so far, did notice less rares on the couple of runs i did do. so i will keep working towards this and getting those PL to make up for the MF
I would stay in Act2 with your gear and keep the MF. If you are dieing regularly on the packs, you are not ready for the act. Dieing often will cost you a lot of gold on repairs and you wont be farming efficiently.
If you can afford several good upgrades, then by all means do it and farm Act3 with less MF. I would aim for 65-70k dps, 35k HP and some 200-250 AR to start with. Unless you can achieve that, you should probably stay in full MF gear in Act2.
i've kind of stayed away from act 2 as i'm usually playing with about 300+ms pings and there are enough ranged mobs in act 2 that avoiding projectiles is near impossible, so i end up dying about the same as i do in act 3. or i just need to find a better area in act 2 to farm.
i can almost get to those stats you listed with what i have but i lose almost all of my MF, still worth it to be able to farm act 3?

anyway, with that gear i can kind of do act 3, and i say kind of because on most champ/elite packs i usually die at least 3 or more times trying to kill them and with normal mobs i die every once in awhile. with my follower and 5 NV stacks i'm at 354% MF, even with that high MF i'm finding jack..... would it be worth it to sacrifice MF to get better survive-ability and DPS gear in order to not die so much? or should i just go back to act 1 easy mode? do i just need a good spec and L2playbetter?!!!
i do have some pieces i've found/bought that i can do various combinations of more DPS/glass canon or less DPS/survive-ability, all at the cost of MF. the highest DPS combo i have gets me about 68K DPS without SS.
352% MF after 5 stacks, did 5-6 act 1 runs (at least 20+ elites and 2 bosses per run) and keep depths lvl 1 and 2 in act 3 (killed about 10 elite packs), all on double digit even servers and nothing..... i think this game hates me.....
