overneathe posted a message on Kripp and Alkaizer talk about Diablo 3I'm sure there are at least a dozen "top notch" players on our forums. Jaetch being a great example. Don't want to leave out the rest but I'm occupied slightly at the moment. There are absolutely, definitely a lot of great players in our forums, on par or even maybe above Kripparian. How can they be above? Attitude.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion -

AudioCG posted a message on The PvP blog is MASSIVE..."You have no experience in D2 PvP"Posted in: PvP Discussion
Really?
REALLY?
Even though I have clearly stated that I in fact DO, and HAVE played Diablo 2 PvP over the thousands of hours logged into that game? (I don't know why you have such a hard time differentiating "I found better PvP games" from "I never played D2 PvP" ?)
I cannot communicate with someone who does not even grasp the basic concept of reading.
Bottom line, PvP in Diablo 2 was considered casual at best, received FAR more complaints then praise (as evidenced by the patch history concerning PvP directly), and will not, in any way shape or form be making its way into Diablo 3. (no open duels)
The only person beating a dead equine here is you.
(Still waiting for you to show me a single organized cash tourney for D2 PvP, the ONLY Blizzard game(s) (D1/D2) ever made to NOT have several said tourney's for its PvP play....) I know you think linking a couple of small fry online friendly tournaments is the same as a massive organized event, but the cold hard reality is, it isnt, at all.
For easy reference; this is what "Huge PvP" competitions look like:

You say things like "proven wrong", where exactly? Go ahead, so me a single one thing you have "proven me wrong" in, I'll wait. (also, fun fact, in this very thread, the very thing you accuse me of, "blatant insults" you have done 3x more then anyone else in this thread, your astonishing hypocrisy is out for all to see. )

Notice how neither even MENTION PvP? Literally, not even mentioned, in a review, from multiple sources, roflol.
The same sites reviews on SC1, notice the amount of the review focused on PvP;

Im wondering if at some point you will come to the realization that Diablo 2's PvP was hardly even considered a "feature" of the game at the time. It was not even considered worth mentioning in the games reviews.
The things you are lauding about Diablo 2's PvP are the same things that Blizzard is looking to expand upon in its PvP system for D3, teams, arenas, rules, etc. (the very same things people enforced to make Diablo 2's PvP less messy and random) AKA, they are looking to make ACTUAL PvP, instead of just throwing out a "hostile" button and hoping for the best. (exactly what happened in D2)
But let me guess, that's too "Corporate" and "Mainstream" right? (the irony of you saying that about Diablo 3 and NOT Diablo 2 is hilarious BTW, Diablo 2 is considered a massive mainstream success.)
inb4 your inevitable post not addressing anything I have said, random insults, and possibly a new youtube video. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

That's definitely how it works right now, but keep in mind that the NV bonus to exp mechanics has been reworked in 1.0.8; it is now multiplicative instead of simply additive.
What this means is that (with all the standard bonuses of hellfire on self and follower and 31% ruby in helm), on MP10 running on NV0 vs NV5 would mean a difference of 683% vs 1195%.. almost double.
So I guess what this means (roughly speaking) is that if more than half the time of your run is spent getting that 5 NV, it's not worth it, but if it's say a quarter of your time, then that's time well spent - you don't really need elite gear for this.
Also the new NV mechanics result in running MP6 at full NV (679%) being comparable to running MP10 with none, so something to consider if you're not breezing through MP10 yet
Edit: The formula used is the one here:

Sorry, not quite sure what you're getting at here. The increase in health is a multiplied percentage bonus i.e. HP' = HP*Bonus/100 whereas the other bonuses you mention are an additive/added percentage bonus i.e. MF' = MF + Bonus; Items' = Items*(1+BonusItem/100)
I believe an apt formula for loot efficiency comparison (with your assumptions) would be
[(1+BonusItem/100)(1+(BaseMF+BonusMF)/100)/(BonusHealth/100)]
In which case you'd see the following (MF = 0 and 300 resp.):
MP Level MP0 MP1 MP2 MP3 MP4 MP5 MP6 MP7 MP8 MP9 MP10
Efficiency 1 0.84 0.72 0.63 0.55 0.48 0.41 0.35 0.29 0.24 0.204
Efficiency 4 2.86 2.16 1.7 1.38 1.12 0.9 0.73 0.58 0.47 0.378
which shows diminishing returns in efficiency for higher MP's.
The only way in which higher MP's would be better for loot and xp in terms of efficiency are when your damage is high enough that your kill rate no longer scales with monster health (i.e. you one shot all mobs)
