Since so few of us use bell any more, how about a free bell from the sky as a 4-piece set bonus like the meteor bonus from Tal set.

Moonlight Ward could be rare for monk if never, but my wiz has collected 4 already with one less promising being turned into soul.

Playing wiz is one way, maybe playing in a team with wizards could also be possible in picking up one as I could always found class items of other members in a team. How can Moonlight ward benefit a monk? Fire, light or mixed build? I have already collected enough items to start developing a monk build, including SoH, OS and TG, Magefist, etc.

posted a message on Why is Dodge terrible?
The effect of dodge is already cut to half compared to AR and armor as there are more undodgeable attacks than dodgeable attacks in RoS.

Literally, stun, knock back, thunder and the like should all be dodged as the stroke is so obvious and slow, but sadly it is not the case in reality.

Summing up what all you folks have said in one sentence:

Play at whatever difficulty as you like, suppose you have 100%MF, if you cannot clear the same level within a time only 10% more than without MF, take off all your MF gear.

Pick up rare and rift blood shard to gamble for good rare/Leg. Rare are as good as Leg/Set in status except lack of bonus. Keep the good status ones and ask Mystic to make it perfect. If you know where to put offensive and defensive status in gear, with a close to perfect rare set T1 should be pretty easy. In terms of enchant, rare is even better at low levels as it is cheaper to make it perfect. By the time you're at T1, set and Leg will drop more often at rift runs. For example, make 9+ CC and 90+ CD amulet, 6CC and 45+ CD rings.

posted a message on [Build] Pure Cold Mirror Ball Wizard
I am a cold wizard too. I used to play BH and finish off mods in T2 or T3 with RoF/Black ice + ice meteor from Tal Rasha set. I used tocast Blizzard to soften the ground and apply some cold damage for cold blood, and mobs and packs can be downed by one BH most of the time. Now I'vejust got Mirror Ball and I thought how this could be integrated into a cold built. I tried ice spike as it is AP free and x3 from MB, preliminary results are promising as mobs are killed by one or twospikes and every others got chilled. I'll further beef up my 1M sheet-DPS (2-3 e-DPS buffed) so that packs can be killed by 2BHs at higher torment levels, which is quite a reasonable pace. Though I have 12M toughness, monsters are most dying before reaching me.

It is doable in 300m, and your specifications are quite close, maybe a bit more HP ~50k and a bit of LOH on top.

I direct comparison might not be appropriate, get both; LS on weapons and LOH on jewels.

They are situational too as LS is still effective when SW is up, and in the initial contact with Reflect Damage LOH helps.

I'm still keep 800 LOH when I now have 3-6% LS on weapons.

As for end-game weapon and as far as damage is concerned for DW, EF gives the highest damage.

However, you can only choose 2 out of the 3 stats dex, CD and LS, plus a socket.

posted a message on Monk vs Barb - Have Blizz noticed how unbalanced this is?
Hey, his gear is better than many average monks, and will be doing fine in low Mp farming; maybe a bit more leech and HP for higher MP levels. One or two pieces sub-par gear is not a disaster unless you go for the ranking.

"it works doesn't mean its good", in what way it is not good, able to farm with low-end gear and getting better with high-end gear?

It works always and it is good too just a little bit less so in 1.0.5.

We didn't say monks are useless, but barbs are generally tougher and more efficient especially with low-end gears.

Even with a single target of ubers, barb is still better than monk as there is no cool down for the powerful hammer.

    Unbuff: I am 127kdps, 781 res, 6200 armor, 46 dodge, 50.5 CC, 468 CD, 2.04 AS

Surprisingly, I have recently switched to MoE/backlash (very underrated) and Resolve (20% reduction in damage) which have really helped out. I don't have a huge dps build so the extra dodge and 70% weapon damage per dodge is actually really helpful and has surprised the hell out of me....try it out for a couple of days you may just use it permanently.

Your monk is relatively high in defense. Depends on your leech, you can use MoE for more defense.

Giving up MoC losses a lot of DPS, and it takes ages to bring down the elites in high MP levels even with 127k DPS.

Why many monk skills needs lot of spirit accompanied with a cool down, whereas no cool down in rend and hammer for barb?

Monk will be stronger and more fun to play with a dynamic switch between MoC and MoE.

    Quote from Adhal

    Quote from MONK_P100

    TR the most efficient?

Who is the first character reaching paragon 100?

Among the first 100 paragon characters, there are how many monks and how many barbs?

Nothing needs to be changed, and I accept the challenge and fun playing monk as it is.

.... who was the first hardcore char to hit paragon 100? mage

Does that make them the best farming class? No

Bad point on your part. Also first paragon 100 was pre-MP, when inferno was equivalent to Mp3-4 and less legendaries dropped, making TR much, much more expensive to get started. MP0-1 and mass legendaries evened the gap

I don't know why you had to bring up hardcore, which is another very long story and monk will not be better either.

No match in softcore farming efficiency between TR monk and WW bard pre 1.0.5.

1.0.5 TR monk can narrow down the gap between WW barb farming at low MP levels, but not more efficient to reverse the situation at least in terms of gear set up in speed and spirit.

posted a message on Where do I start for upgrades?
You're sitting at 110k+ dps? And any upgrade will not cheap any more.

The bracer can still be improved, +1 or 2 CC, 100+ dex, vit and physical resist if you use OWE, 5-10M; AR is more expensive.

The amulet is not bad, but it can still be improved by adding dex and damage, about 10M.

NAT ring obviously, but this is costly.

I can't see your weapons and other pieces.
