Thanks for the reply I will work on those things. To do higher torments what resists and specific skills should I be aiming for? I've heard you want a 1/10 ratio for res to armor so I have been using my paragon on armor seeing as it in the 8k and res is in the 900s

Hello everyone I play a lightning monk and am in some need of help. I have been researching and from what I have seen I think I've focused to much on damage and let some of my toughness go to the way side. My battle tag is

    Darkadian#1675

Any advice would be greatly appreciated what to upgrade what to change if I'm going after some incorrect stats, even changes in build. I have heard wotf is better damage now than deadly reach. Thank you in advance and I look forward to reading your replys

quick update on my character profile, I upgraded all my gems to the highest i can craft atm and spent most my gold im down to about 1m but i have a ton of amulets and rings to sell on AH just gonna take time to post with the 10 at a time limit.

Anyways I will keep a look out for a better LoH weapon and I did beat the first boss/quest in Act IV with no issue but after that I called it quits for the night, I will be going back into Act IV this afternoon when i get home and hopefully i finish it out today. I just want to beat it i dont really care about farming just want to complete the game so to say. Then I will probably go back to farming act I inbetween playing alts.

Now quick question, Inferno Whimsyshire could i encorporate that into my farming of act 1? or would the mobs be to hard? I know they are of act IV quality but people say they are all melee mobs I was just curious do you think with my gear set I could put them into my farm runs for the chance of better gear/upgrades?

Thanks for the input both of you, great help. I will try to run Act IV and probably spend most my cash on upgrading my gems. I was saving it for upgrades on gear but if thats only gonna get me say 1 item id probably benefit more from upgrading all my gems like you said Shinna. Again thanks for the information I do some gem cutting when i get home i have over 300 tomes and the gems/money to upgrade several gems for sure.

posted a message on Gear Help for Act IV
Hey guys im new around here as you can tell by my post count but I have been lurking for a few weeks and I must say this site has given me the most and best information out of everything ive looked at for monks. I main a monk and dont have a ton of time to play maybe half hour most days some days a few hours, but besides all that I have made it to Act IV inferno with my monk following information from this site. It wasnt easy in act III (act I and II were pretty simple for me) but i managed to make it to Act IV. Now I havent tried Act IV yet but I figured it couldnt hurt to get some input. What do you guys think i should upgrade? I have about 3 mil gold, I know its not much but i have been starting to farm act I and selling items I get to make more money.

    Here is my profile:

    http://us.battle.net...5/hero/15128422

Few things to note here. I logged out in a build for farming Act I, in progression I run same build only instead of MoC i run MoE/Hard target, and instead of fleet footed i use resolve. I have better boots (more res more armor more dex) but they have no run speed, also i have a 700 dps 588 loh mace offhand, and I also run Enchantress.

But besides that I would greatly appreciate some input what is my weakest gear i should look at upgrading next, what i should look for on each items. I have looked at the guides on the site but I always say more information is good information. Like how much IAS should i be looking for, I know i have none now but everything I have read says you should have some.

    thanks in advance!

posted a message on Gear/stat advice needed - it might help others too
Im so glad i found this post this morning, I have been struggling and getting frustrated with trying to do act 3 and playing the auction house to try and get good gear cheap and flip my old gear. I have done ok i havent lost money yet but i still cant do act 3. But with all the information from this thread on what stats to look for on which items etc I think i can start doing better in my upgrade searches. I have been making several foolish mistakes just seeing peoples stats posted like oh he farms act 3 and has 25k health i should slack off on the vit or oh his dex is lower than mine i should slack on dex etc.

Thank you so much for this topic and everyone's help, I dont have the time to log like some people and every second counts for me. I have had D3 since launch and only played my monk and he has like maybe 70 hours played. so all this information is so valuable to making every minute of my play time count.
