Is it just me, or is forum traffic slowing down? everytime i come around people just view threads and leave, or just dont post as much. especially around weekends. cmon guys, lets get with the posting, and make some input!!
weekend traffic is in low in all forums...because there is something to do for those of us not out of high school yet on the weekends. cant get drunk on school nights.
the reason our education system sucks is because for some reason they insist on putting money into building new prisons before putting it into schools. and the NCLB act, which basically is intended to make the children of the US into one mediocre, mundane mass. and no art/music/phys ed programs, because of the funding they dont get. and no books in the intercity schools, because they dont get funding because they get horrible test scores. they get horrible test scores because the intercity kids have more shit to deal with and their schools are shitty. and bush is like just pay for your kid to go to private school, thats what daddy did for me. heh heh heh.
that actually reminds me of something that i found sort of morbidly humorous. i saw this thing on the news the other day, about how there are bills all around the country with people in this huge uproar about making "salvia" - a hallucinogen that was never popular enough until recently for people to care enough to make it illegal - illegal. their reasoning was that it has effects much like the drug lsd, only to a lesser extent and only lasting between 10 minutes or an an hour, depending on the dose (when you take it you feel like its been hours though). they claimed to have evidence of how dangerous it was, and their "evidence" was that it was implicated in the suicide of one teenager in...rhode island i think?
as i watched this, i became enraged. why? well, consider this. how many people does smoking cigarettes kill yearly? or, even more so, how many people die unexpectedly in accidents directly caused by alcohol abuse? i cannot come up with specific figures for either, but i will say cigarettes and alcohol kill thousands upon thousands yearly. and there was this huge issue spreading all over the country because ONE KID may have killed himself due to salvia.
the media has some incredibly screwed up priorities...and the government does, too.
just to offer another opinion.....at least espn still rocks socks. excluding the NBA, watching sports on tv is just as great as it has always been.
and 'los: given a choice between a random catdog cartoon or a random ren n stimpy cartoon, i pick catdog hands down. when i was 7 i happened to get up in the middle of the night, turn on cartoon network, and adult swim was playing an adult ren n stimpy cartoon...i have never been able to watch it since.
did you guys know that ren n stimpy and pinky in the brain both have massive amounts of "adult themed" cartoons, to go along with the ones we watched when we were little? its some f***ed up stuff. and let me add in that ren n stimpy was never my thing anyway...it was, i dont really know, i guess too big on stupid grossout humor. i never liked it a whole lot even before the fateful night.
this is my view on polotics. the biggest waste of time, money, and intelligence in the United States or anywhere else. All its about is greed, power and more greed its that simple there no other way to put it....plz make no more political threads they are annoyin.
while i have to agree with you that politics have become a waste...you are reacting to them in exactly the opposite way of what you should be. by giving the attitude of "politics are stupid i dont want to hear about them" you shun the issue, and that will never get anything done. all you accomplish is forfeiting your right to an opinion.
just out of curiosity....do you vote?
because im going to be honest...there is nothing more wasteful and useless than someone who complains about politics but doesnt vote.
im not much of a bush fan....i dont really know how we are supposed to discuss him as a president without opinions. opinions are about all there is, as far as politics go.
i can still say positive things about him, though. in the state of the union address he not only didnt say anything incredibly stupid (well besides claiming that nclb actually works but thats beside the point), but he didnt make himself out to be a monkey! :-D
well yes, they will fall....however, chances are one format will take complete superiority well before prices fall. i cant say i expect both to be around for 2 years or however long it will take for the patents to run out on the best/cheapest ways of making the players so we will see a coby hd-dvd or hitachi bluray player for $100 :-p
so therefore the issue is you will need a drive of whatever player dies out before they stop selling them due to their dying out.
and the point would be that you would need both a bluray drive/burner and a HD-DVD drive/burner in your computer. thats gonna still be a wee bit pricey by the time the race is decided (last i knew an internal bluray drive for your pc was about $500+ and i dont believe that was with a writer. well it might have been with a writer, i dont remember)...so i doubt many people have the money to invest enough in one that they are willing to buy both drives for their computer, get the software to rip change and burn...and then a player of the other type. this is a LOT of money we are talking.
ferret, do you have any idea how that will compare the the 360....numbers-wise?
and in case you didnt see before (rereading the thread i believe showed that you were talking about bluray being superior...correct me if im wrong)...sony signed the death certificate on bluray by banning commercial releases of porn on it. therefore, we are probably going to see hd-dvd mop the floor with bluray...
of course right as i typed that i was looking for some statistics i saw, basically pointing out how huge the porn industry is in terms of movie sales...and i saw a few articles with sony refuting the claim that they banned porn so we may have to keep watching this.
i agree that they wouldnt because it would be a stupid idea...but i think that in this forum we would end up with it all figured out and wayyyyyy more information we didnt need far before d4 came out
i think it is just a personal preference thing. i read it for the action...once it turned into a bunch of stories that were, as far as i could tell, go more into politically backstabbing each other, all working towards the same positive cause, i decided i didnt care anymore.
