Just out of curiosity, do you know roughly how many bloodshards you got from exploiting this issue?

about 70,000 or so over 5-6 hours

Cheers.. I'd be interested to know how Blizzard would have reacted if you had demonstrated the exploit far and wide but not personally profited to such an insane degree (with that many shards being nearly 3000 gear rolls = roughly 300 legendaries, 30 ancients?)

Can't honestly see any way not to expect a perma-ban with that level of exploiting though.

    • If you are a higher level player - bring along a gem of ease. it only takes about 30 minutes to get one of those to lvl 25.

OK, I feel I must be missing something here. How do you get a legendary gem to level 25 in "about 30 minutes"?

I've had a bit of a habit of "forcing" Blizzard's hand when it came to issues that I felt were important and felt were needing immediate attention, probably not the best way to go about getting things done but hey it has been effective :P

Just out of curiosity, do you know roughly how many bloodshards you got from exploiting this issue?

It's my first and only account, which I created to shine light on this whinne fest. That doesn't equal a fake account, oh you clever people.

I was going to ask if the name "exploitwhine" was already taken, but then I realized that you genuinely don't know how to spell "whine".

    Yes, this is correct.

But only some self-righteous Social Justice Warrior...

12 words into your response and you've already proved that there is nothing coming up that any intelligent person would want to read.

Look, it's really simple. Yes it's the developer's fault if a game has bugs. But if you don't enforce any consequences for players who deliberately and repeatedly exploit these bugs to gain as much as possible, you're sending a very strong and clear message:

"If you find a bug, exploit the shit out of it, as fast as you can!! Get as much loot as you can before it gets reported and fixed"

And it is not good for the health of the game to send that message to the players.

Blizzard will do nothing, they never have in the past

What a moronic statement. Blizzard may not have taken the action you like in the past, they may not have caught as many exploiters as you would hope, but it is simply a ridiculously untrue statement to say they have never done anything in the past.

Anyway, we get the point, clearly there is not NO profit in catering to the most hardcore 5%. There is SOME profit, a small amount which, if it is pursued by a small number of companies like From and CCP, can make those companies comfortably successful. But I don't think that really changes Demonmonger's original point.

Seems reasonable. When the current system launched, Paragon Level 800 seemed incomprehensibly distant, but of course it is not, and adding another selection to each tab would give the uber-grinders something to spend their points on besides primary stats, whilst giving everyone else a little more choice.

Vanilla/BC/Wotlk servers for so long and that is much easier to implement than this and it wouldn't affect the population or the players almost at all and it is not happening, doubt they will implement such a thing in diablo.

Whoah, there is no way it would be easier to implement a Vanilla WoW server than a 1.0 Diablo III server. No way. We're talking 7.5 years more drift with five expansions, not one, and countless significant patches. Not to mention that a WoW server has a lot more going on than a D3 server.

Having said that, everything else about your post, I agree with entirely.

Seriously.. if you want more challenge in D3, you're going to have to do what you did if you wanted more challenge in D2 - dream up some self-imposed restrictions. Take Hardcore as a starting point, combine that with the "self-found only" system we've had since RoS dropped, and add whatever you need. Rares only. Blues only. No crafting. Whatever.

Yeah I totally agree RiffSphere but the thing is will Blizzard ever listen to what the community want (HUGE CHANGES) ? Not simple item or spell changes.

lol, they listened to what the community wanted and made HUGE changes, and what did they get? You started a thread asking for a mode where all of those changes were undone.

posted a message on "Sets Appeal" achievement in patch 2.2

Does anyone know from the PTR what effect (if any) patch 2.2 has on the "Sets Appeal" achievement?

Complete one of the following level 60 unique item sets.

Immortal King; Inna's Majesty; Natalya's Wrath; Tal Rasha's Wrappings; Zunimassa's Spirit

Do you need to "complete" it by getting all of the pieces including any new ones? e.g. all 7 pieces for Tal-Rasha's?

Or by completing the 6-piece set bonus?

Or just by collecting the original pieces?

posted a message on Is there a reason to keep old seasonal characters?

If you have 2 of the same class in softcore non-seasonal, there is absolutely no benefit to it. Delete one - if they are different gender, pick the gender you most want to keep, because that is literally the only difference between two max-level characters of the same class.

One solution, make the gift something you can gamble for with bloodshards. Have a 'trinket' option for 25 blood shards that can give you a random gem as a basic reward, or a chance a a legendary non player gear item, like a follower trinket, or legendary potion, or gift.

    Best idea proposed so far.

Not 100% sure about the tuning, but you could certainly come up with a blood shard price that would be fair.

posted a message on Please Blizzard, take seasons seriously.
    Quote from Bleu42»

    Quote from Kinfet»

The problem with seasons is that they have to make a choice between focusing on seasons or focusing on getting patches out in a timely manner. 2.1 came out recently, but 2.2 is almost ready to ship. Lots of people are really looking forward to that patch coming out, as it will put new sets into the game that might get them to play again. Seasons on the other hand are very niche feature. You want to hit top 50? Well, only 50 people can be in the top 50. Should Blizzard be catering to 50 people or the masses? Why should 1000s of people who want to new sets and such wait so 50 people can try to hit top 50 on the leader boards? it really doesn't make sense.

Actually, what doesn't make sense is what you wrote. There's no choice between focusing Blizzard resources on seasons or patches. All a 'season' is is an exclusive leaderboard. Everything else they do, from items to class balance is applied to both. So no, they aren't spending any extra time because a new season needs to start.

If what he wrote didn't make sense to you, it's because you completely failed to understand it.

He wasn't talking about scarce resources being divided between developing patches and developing "seasons".

We're talking about the decision to synchronize patches with season rollovers, to avoid seasons being disrupted by game-changing patches mid-season.
