Wow!! Too bad I'm in Tokyo at the moment, woke up at 5:00 AM and got a few hours in before work but it's now 8:58 am......8.5 hours before I can play again.
After completing A3 i sold off all my gear and started focusing on MF gear. Right now I'm farming A2 with 267 MF, 291 with follower without stacks. My gear including follower cost about 100 mil and I still need some upgrades before I can farm A3, estimating 150-200 mil will be the final cost. MF gear isn't cheap but you can buy a few solid pieces and mix them with lesser pieces while you farm for more gold to pay for further upgrades. What I did was search perfect or near perfect MF and super high primary stats vit/str to boost my dps/life to substitute for the lack of AR allowing me to farm while I'm upgrading. Still working on it but getting closer, resist are actually at 430+ which doesn't show in my profile.
I have no poof of course but my experience farming A1-A2 tells me there are a lot of things that effect drops and what stats they roll besides just the ilvl.
For instance, i got my first decent weapon drop a 932dps sword in A1 after a few days farming after that I farmed A1 using that sword for 3 weeks straight and didn't find a single weapon over 900 dps. Eventually I upgraded to a 1070 dps weapon and the very first day a 940dps wand dropped, then a 966dps fist dropped a few elite packs later. After that 900 dps weapons dropped 2-3 times a week, nothing changed except my main hand weapon.
I've done tests with friends where we wear no legendaries and farm a few days, then switch to wearing legendaries and see if there's a difference in drops. I tend to get 3-4x as many when wearing my 3 legendaries (HoC and wanderlust set) This could be just my luck but there have been cases of crafters crafting the exact same item their wearing so I think it's totally possible that there's some correlation between your gear and drops and considering the gear lvl required to effectively farm A3/4 it doesn't surprise me the rolls are better.
Cool, thanks for the reply. That seems to be the trend, I always look extra hard at them but I've only really had a couple usable/sellable legendaries, at least I'm getting a nice little collection of brimstones!
