For the mid range items (i.e. stuff that looks useful but certainly is not worth millions), I often guess a price and then keep cutting it in half until it sells, or it reaches below 100k, then I vendor it. Imho it's not worth the time to look those items up on the AH, but I like to keep my AH tabs in use.

This generates a few 100k to a mil or two daily for me, and keeps the gold up. Add in gold drops and I make a million per day even if nothing really good drops.

Exactly this. If you're "selling nothing" it's because you're pricing incorrectly or valuing stats incorrectly.

Absolutely prices have dropped as of late for mid-range gear, because at a minimum paragon means better items are being found by more people (to a large degree), and additionally, more people are in higher content because of that and the nerfs to elites and affixes. This is a good thing for everyone claiming they can't afford anything and can never progress. Why? Because you can now buy the gear that gets you into Act 2 and 3 farming for a pittance of what it was just a month ago. This means you can start farming content where you have a realistic chance of getting one of those awesome rares or legendary items you're seeing going for a zillion gold right now (which are also falling in price).

I'm entirely confused when people say they've "never had more than X amount of gold," as well. Are you giving it away? Are you buying random crap to salvage, are you crafting useless 4 and 5 affix stuff? If you're buying "upgrades," undoubtedly you should eventually gain enough power to progress further, gaining even more gold and better items to progress even more. It's ridiculously hard to regress in this game - in fact, damn near impossible unless you're playing with a semi-naked, undergeared character, in a difficulty that's beyond your skill or gear level (player responsibility to determine).

Stop tossing anything you're "guessing" sucks, and start spending a little more time in the AH seeing what's decent. Don't try and squeeze every last gold out of items, and don't be afraid to bid and lose items to get a decent deal.

What these guys have said. Also when pricing I find its easier to sell by searching for items with slightly less stats than your and undercutting those. I dont worry about lost gold from undercutting I am just happy for a quick sell.

Spec shouldnt matter too much for you attacking spells. General rule of thumb is have a good single target and a good aoe damage dealer. I really do however love rain of vengence stampede. I used it before since 1.0.4 for the knock back in act 1 and 2 and in 1.0.4 it was buff for I think twice the damage. Since I have 4 piece natalya's, I switch RoV stampede out for shadow power gloom for act 3 and 4 farming. (I only farm act 3 and 4 with 4 pieces natalya'sand about 170 MF. I wear straight MF for acts 1 and 2.)
Regarding resists, I dont even really worry about resists in act 1 or 2 I think I run sub 100 actually in those acts. Like I said in my first post I just try to keep a bit over 28k health roughly. But that is just my own personal preference.
I know some people prefer using a bow with LoH for reflect damage, but I never bother. I think my dps in my farming gear is pretty high so that might be why. In my experience most elites atleast in solo games are dead before I use all of my available smoke screens.
As far as act one routes I will just give a run down of my route. (which is probably different order than some others)

    - Leorics manor/courtyard/hunting grounds (3 to 5 champion packs)
    - Northern highlands? sorry at work and not quite sure on name. (1 to 2 champ packs outside and chance to spawn watchtower 0 to 6 champs roughly in watch tower alone and a resplendant chest)
    - Highlands crossing (run across bridge and search for Cave of the moonclan, 1 to 4 champs outside while finding caves, 3-5 champs inside, resplendant chest, and great chance for gobby)
    - Festering woods (4 to 6 elites)
    - Cemetary of the forsaken (all of the crypts, if I do happen to spawn development hell I usually skip that crypt as jay wilson never drops anything, but roughly 1-2 champs in each crypt maybe more on rare occasions.)

At this point in my run I usually decide to reset and go again. But sometimes I decide to go to halls of agony and clear to butcher. I have really good luck in act 1 which is why I mainly farm it. Act 2-4 are just to break the repetitiveness. Anyways hope this helps.

The easiest and cheapest way on a demon hunter will always be glass cannon. I personally like to keep around 28k to 30k hp so I can survive a hit if I am being careless. For stats I am around 240 MF (260 with Templar) 115k dps with SS and 50k without. I usually roll with SS in magic find concidering I lose so much crit. As for spec I believe your cookie cutter ball lightning spec is most popular. As far as routes in Act 2 I try to farm as many elites as possible and then bosses at the end. For act 1 I just do elites. If you are looking for specific routes I can elaborate later as I am at work. Hope some of this helps. My armory should be in my sig and should reflect the spec I normally use for Farming runs. Although I may have logged out in my normal gear.

posted a message on Price Check - Ring with 17% MF / LoH / CritDmg
The lack of str/int/dex hurts the value some. I am at work and cant compare ah atm. But I did buy some just mf rings for my templar the other day and they werent that cheap. So with the 17% magic find I am guessing you could get 1 to 2 million maybe more if patient.

I cant see this being worth much sadly. That being said there is always some idiot out there buying a piece just because it is a legendary.

posted a message on Trouble killing Diablo (inferno)
I have been looking all over for different strats, but cannot seem to find any. And most of the videos on youtube seem pre 1.0.3 or with godly gear.

    My stats :
143.9k dps with ss and around 65k without
    300+ crit hit damage
    30% crit
    29k health
    300+ resists

    Spec:
    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#aRYjXV!Yea!YabcZc

I do fine until one unlucky moment he teleports to me when I do not have enough discipline to ss. Any advice or links to good videos would be much appreciated. I easily kill every other boss and elite pack with my gear and feel I must just be missing something.

posted a message on DH need help with Inferno Ghom
    Quote from ZcyTeck

I'm sitting on an old computer, and it stalls when entering heavily graphical sites (such as battle.net).. so, no links, sorry. Anyway, I'm below 10 post, so that wouldn't be possible.

    How I did it.

~300 Poisonresist; 200 allresist (physical etc.).
~25-30k hp. (Life% helps alot vs. pure Vita)
2x 1h Crosbow with ~7-800 Life On Hit EACH. (Dual Wield)
(Ignore weapon dps. I used 487 and 502 dps(!)). Cheap weapons for about 50k each; one had Int, the other had vitality)

Enchantress follower (with charm/armor/pool of purple stuff/attackspeed).

    Keys:
1: Caltrops (any version. I started with tortorus ground the first time; and are currently using the last in the line (cant remember name right now, but gives +10crit for standing in the trap)).
    2: Shadow Power (gloom).
3: Preperation (...The one that slowly ticks your dicipline back up).
    4: Sentry Turret (Guardian Turret).
    M1: Grenades (Gas Grenades).
M2: Any. Chakrams (shuriken) / Ele arrow... Doesnt really matter. You won't be using it.

Custom Engineering; Nightstalker(random of your choice); Numbing Traps.

Run in his face and place yourself just next to the coloumn on the right side. Place your turret and a Caltrop. Target him and start casting grenades. His first few hits will hit you very hard, so be ready with Shadow Power.

Keep counting to yourself to 3, then place a new caltrop. Over and over. Only use grenades. You'll likely hear your DH saying "I need healing" -cryouts, but don't worry.
When his blobs spawn, your Life on Hit will gain the bonus from both Ghom and blobs.
    - I personally tried with Stun Grenades in this fight, also later on with higher LoH and Resist... Didn't work. Only Gas grenades. (I assume the ticks from Gas works with LoH).

You can easily feel if you've forgotten to place the caltrops. At some point during the fight, you'll need to replace the turret... Do so, if you feel you have enough dicipline for it; else pop the preperation and use it there.

*Edit: With your stats... Just get two 1h crosbows and the above talents... You should be fine this way)*

--- This is how I did it. I had 0 NV buffs the first time, as I ... Like you, just hit a wall and tried almost everything.
Oddly enough, this works. Low resist, but somewhat higher life-pool than normally; ~8k dps(!); ~1700 Life On Hit.

    Hope you'll try this.

Was stuck on Ghom for ever so I skipped him and cleared up to diablo. Just read this post and 5 mins later Ghom is dead... Thank you very much. I have tried so many other strats and specs. This one was by far the best.
