posted a message on HC barb skill set help
actually I use rend-bloodlust instead of sprint on ubers and MP7+. I love it. LOVE it. I just dont think it will work with the HC build im thinking of. Im gearing towards 60k+ health and only like 20k dps. my MH weapon will most likely be in the 700-800 dps range. I just dont think rend will be healing me for as much as revenge will be, or am I wrong?

posted a message on HC barb skill set help
Hey everyone, my barb is about to ding 60 on HC. I want to have a similar playstyle to my SC barb, but with a bit more survivability. My question to you is what skill set I should use? I dont know what i should sacrifice to ensure i stay alive. My gearing of course needs to be different, and I pretty much know what to do there. Also, it should be noted, I have no desire to uber gear a HC character. I am just doing this for the achievements and to say I did it, nothing else.

Here is a link to my SC barb skills:

Here is what I am thinking of doing for my HC barb:

The thing is I really want to use revenge and I have no idea what to use as my primary attack(fury generator). Do i really need revenge? My dps will be low, so i wont use LS, instead I will be using LoH. With such a large health pool, should I be using revenge as my main source of life gain, or will 800-1500 LoH be enough? Again I will most likely never leave MP0, so I am probably worrying about nothing, I just dont want to waste my 20-30 hours I spent leveling. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

posted a message on help please! cant keep up WOTB
Ok, I still need to improve but i fixed my problem. Kinda silly but it was the first comment that solved it. I never took into account the fact that if i was at max fury, i technically wasnt gaining any fury, so no bonus seconds. After about 30 minutes of getting used to spamming battle shout to stay under cap i was able to keep up WOTB for an entire run. I appreciate all the feed back, suggestions, and tips. We can consider this topic closed!

MP1 is way too low for your dps to maintain wotb. With your dps you should be at least MP4-5 or else you won't be able to generate enough rage because you will kill things before tornados have time to tick much at all.

I choose MP1 because I can just roll through once and my one WW hit and tornados kill off everything. I do this to get as much XP/hour as possible. With the new XP bonuses to paragon levels, is going up to MP4-5 in my gear going to be better(in terms of XP gain)?

When pursuing low MPs Ground stomp outranks WOTB by quite a large margin, it has some pretty cool effects. When you reach a monster power more suitable for a permanent WOTB then I warmly suggest introducing both Whirlwind and a main nuke (HotA) for a more fulfilling experience.

I used to play with other barbs who used Ground Stomp. I liked them having it, but never preferred to use it myself. It has a lot of cool uses, I just dont prefer to use it, and my higher MP key farming/uber spec uses WW and HoTA and I LOVE that build. It makes me happy i picked barb as my main.

while youre whirling, spam sprint and battle rage. you gain bonus time by fury GAINED... you dont gain fury past 100 so you have to keep using and gaining and using and gaining. Also i reckon you may be playing on an mp level that's too low for your gear. what mp do you farm on?

That explains a lot. I'm constantly at full fury yet never gaining any bonus seconds and was wondering why and was also wondering why barb videos i watched people were spamming battle rage. Thank you.

Also, i usually play on MP1 when farming.

    Quote from IcepickD

What he said + Don't pickup all items. You can't have WOTB up all the time and pickup everything. So basically only jewels and legendaries, or say goodbuy to WOTB.

I also do believe your Crit chance is too low. You should get at least 50 with passive.

Yea when im going for high WOTB uptime i pick up almost nothing. I am getting no luck crafting a hellfire ring with crit% on it. that + i am saving up to buy an IKT helm will give me another 8-9 crit which will push me past 50. More crit definitely = more fury gain, but i think the first post about making sure im not at fury cap is where im going wrong. Thank you for the input though.

I have read the guides stickied here explaining the mechanics of WW, sprint, and WOTB and how to maintain 100% uptime. I BELIEVE i am following them correctly, but i just simply cant keep WOTB up. I can only gain around 3-4 bonus seconds. I do not have a clue what I am doing wrong. Is there any tips or suggestions you can give me? I do not have any way to record my gameplay, so all I can do is post my profile and hope my problem lies in my gear. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

posted a message on Which MP level to farm XP on
I am no expert, but the general opinion before patch 1.0.7 was the most efficient paragon farming was done on MP0 or MP1(as long as you can still 1 shot monsters). With the changes to the way XP scales in higher MPs, does this hold true?

In case noone remembers the change here it is:

The experience bonus rewarded for killing monsters on Monster Power levels 1-10 in Inferno has been increased:
    • MP 1: 25% (up from 10%)
    • MP 2: 50% (up from 20%)
    • MP 3: 80% (up from 30%)
    • MP 4: 120%(up from 45%)
    • MP 5: 165% (up from 60%)
    • MP 6: 215% (up from 75%)
    • MP 7: 275% (up from 95%)
    • MP 8: 340% (up from 115%)
    • MP 9: 420% (up from 135%
    • MP 10: 510% (up from 160%)
I can farm MP5 rather quickly(no longer than 15-20 for elite packs) and i never die. Is it still more efficient to farm on MP0, or with the increased XP gain is it more efficient to farm higher MPs even if I am not 1 shotting everything? Thanks in advance

I got this pair of IK Gloves today, and I know they are valuable, but not 100% on the actual price. Id like to get opinions as well as offers if I could, either for gold AH or RMAH. Any opinions on price ranges would be appreciated so I can know exactly what I am working with. Thanks in advance.

posted a message on Another what should i upgrade topic!
So I finally got a good drop, and the bid ends in 3 hrs with the winning bid currently at 10.5 mil. I am a casual player so this is the most money i have ever had. Id like to use it all to boost my monk up as much as possible. Any suggestions on 10m worth of upgrades that will get me the most bang for my buck? I seem to be fine on survivability up to about MP5 only dying to nasty combos(plagued, molten, desecrator for instance), mainly I am worried about dps at the moment. Oh, and switch out fleet footed passive for resolve. Thanks for the help!

posted a message on I want to find a good build for me
there are some good common builds that destroy MP farming, as well as some not so well known builds that do pretty well. all depends on if you want to play efficiently, or do what you think is fun.
The ones i know about that i would suggest looking into is dual wield WW, 2h WW, weapon throw, 2h rend/merciless assault, and 2h HoTA.
All of those should have very detailed guides out there and they all do well, with dual wield WW and weapon throw builds being the best for paragon farming and higher MP farming

posted a message on Throw Barb. Criticize me. And Tell me how I can improve
Right off the bat i see very little crit hit DMG. i woiuld switch out the rings for ones with crit chance and crit DMG. Boosting that up by another 100% should increase your overall dmg by a lot.

posted a message on smash (hota) build guide, simplistic one
I see some very high lvl barbs using HoTA with a ranged barb, switching out ancient spear for HoTA. I am also noticing to play any HoTA build you need a considerable amount of gear. Is it just a common trend that above a certain gear level HoTA is just a must have ability? Does it just scale very well with gear or something so it is a good choice for a fury burner?

posted a message on Now what? More Dmg or More defense?
It's all about numbers. Yes the higher MP can give you a better percentage, but you kill at a slower rate. Is it better to kill 10 mobs a minute with a 2% chance to drop a legendary, or 100 mobs a minute with a .5% chance to drop a legendary? Those are made up statistics just to prove a point so dont quote me on those but you see my point. I only ran at MP0 to level paragon quicker and just started farming keys at MP3-5 and noticed a significant drop in legendaries per day. i run no MF and only do runs for about an hour a day so its not a lot, but in MP0 i could do about 2-3 more runs, which netted 1-2 legendaries a day, compared to 1-2 a week in MP3-5.

posted a message on Upgrading Gear (?)
Depending on how long ago it was that you quit you can find some surprisingly nice gear for very cheap. There is a huge oversaturation of gear available on the AH, just unless its perfect you can get it for <1mil. like baron01 said, look at the rate the DH above thread and notice common trends then search for that in AH. Set max buyout at 1mil then sort by highest dex(or dps for weapon) and you will be amazed at what you can get for that price. Good luck!
