Your 1h are gonna need dex+crit dmg+open socket. Both of each to surpass a 2h xbow.

This is only true if we look at the theoretical best weapons we can get for each slot. The reality of the situation may be much different when comparing items that are actually available. Dex on the weapons will help, but I don't think it'd be necessary in this case.

For me, I have a 2h xbow with 1027 dps and 142 crit damage. My quiver has 153 dex, 15 ias, and 8.5 crit chance. My 1h xbows have about 780 dps and exactly 178 crit each. Despite the terrible dps on the 1h'ers, they are only about 3k dps less than the 2h xbow, not very substantial when I'm already pushing 70k dps. I find the increased reaction speed to be worth more to my gameplay.

Considering R_Y_N_O's xbow and quiver, it is probably feasible to find a dual wield set up that will offer more dps. They probably wouldn't even cost a whole lot, but a 2x xbow upgrade will probably be cheaper still.

You need to fill out a spread sheet. Everything depends on everything else, but in general, hand xbows need to be paired with very high crit damage to surpass xbows.

When I was leveling, I loved vault. I used it as my primary escape skill even though I had smoke screen in my build. I always thought I was dying due to lag, but then I saw a post by Blizzard specifically stating that they designed the game so you can't dodge attacks. You're suposed to mitigate them. If your girlfriend is vaulting away from a blow, only to die on exit, then she vaulted too late regardless of how soon it looked like she vaulted. There is no way to dodge some attacks once the attacking monster has reached a certain point in its attack animation.

While demon hunter is my favorite, I can't help but laugh at how moronic it is to build a class who's defense mechanisms are designed at dodging attacks in a game where you're not allowed to dodge attacks.

I set that in bold because its so ironic, I laugh every time I think about it. My solution to the problem was to switch vault and smoke screen in my build, therefore my muscle memory would trigger smoke screen in place of vault, and I could still use vault to get around outside of fights. In your girlfriend's case, I would recommend swapping vault out for smoke screen, at least for a while. Additionally, if she isn't too attached to Impale, she could put vault there, but I would definitely put smoke screen where vault is regardless. If she isn't lacking too much on DPS, I would switch Cull of the Weak out for Tactical Advantage. This way when she triggers smoke screen, she can still get a fast escape.

As far as your end of the deal goes, I think your build is pretty solid as long as you're trying to help by triggering ground stomp at the right times. You could also try Threatening Shout with Demoralize, it has a slightly larger radius of effect. It's been a while since I played my barb, and I can't remember which skill I favored, I usually used whatever my ranged friends preferred at the time.

yeah I really wish it was that dark all the time..

it makes it so hard to see enemies and other things like that.

also I never see the bubble either with shielding elites..
and the same thing with the chains :x
Are you on a Mac? I am and I think there was an error downloading a patch, probably around a month ago. I've already reinstalled the game a couple of times with no fix. I'm doing the same again right now, but I've deleted all of the preference and cache files located in the user directory. Hopefully this will fix it. As cool as the darkness is, it's just too dark to play with for long.

Yes, OP this happens to me from time to time. It seems to be fixed by loading another zone, or tping back to town. I have a bunch of other strange glitches I haven't seen anyone else talking about either. I never see the bubble of shielded elites, only the glow on the inside of the bubble. The only time I DO see the bubble is when I'm using ferret companion and they randomly pick up a piece of gold, the shield bubble flashes over them. It doesn't happen all the time, maybe once every 3 minutes. Also, when I'm fighting elites with fire chains, the last two elites to die will always have the chain connected between them. As in, there will be the last elite I killed, laying on the ground with a chain permanently attached to the last remaining elite. Even after they are all dead, the chain remains.

There are some unusual bugs with the item, and that may be one of them. If you equip a non elemental damage weapon, then the belt, then your elemental damage weapon, it seems to include the elemental damage into the calculation, thus increasing it's benefit. Is that what you're suggesting? If so, I don't think it has anything to do with the type of elemental damage.

posted a message on Most efficent DH playstyle for high MF A3 Inferno?
I know this isn't what you asked, but at some point farming Act 3 in less magic find gear becomes more efficient than farming Act 1 or 2 with more magic find. My only experience is with glass cannon in Act 3, and with Natalya's set bonus. I have either 70k dps with 2h xbow, and ~280 mf, or 66k dps with 2 1h xbows and ~260 mf. Those numbers include NV and I do not swap out for my magic find, it's included on my gear. I find that my survivability is much higher with the hand xbows, because I am more quickly able to dodge incoming projectiles, it doesn't take any longer to clear trash, and it's faster against elites because I don't die as often.

Again, I know this isn't what you asked, but it's all my experience can lend. I have 4pc Nat's and I still can't imagine affording a tank mf build, let alone speculate at how effective it would be.

Yes, that would be another method of evaluating it. Keep in mind, the +move speed on the pants is also worth something that the dps itself isn't going to show you, but that's subjective and you can decide what that is worth to you.

    179+19+14+27 = 239

    239 * .05 = 11.95 (round up to 12)

Inna's Blessing with +5% holy damage will net you +12 minimum and +12 maximum damage.

If you post your total dexterity, we can calculate how much dexterity that is worth to you using this formula:

    ((item +dmg average)/(weapon damage average)) * (your dexterity + 100)

    ((12 + 12)/2) / ((178 + 298) / 2) * (your dexterity + 100)

    source for this formula: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLpJAQrmPJ4&feature=plcp

I hope that helps, let me know if it's worth it for you or not! I recently sold my Inna's set, it just wasn't doing anything for me anymore.

Silmano's advice is good if you're looking to do a tankier build. If you want to go glass cannon, the biggest hole in your gear is critical hit chance. I'd start by getting a new helm with more dex and crit chance. Also, as previously mentioned, your pants are low on dex as well. Whatever weapon you choose it almost needs to have a socket to be worth anything. In the auction house, you can enter critical hit damage with a value of 101 into the search field to find all items with a socket and natural crit damage, this can help you find the best weapon you can afford. Filling out a stat sheet is definitely worth the time. Some upgrades are hard to spot without it, and you can more easily judge what will be the most effective for the price.
