posted a message on I hate that anything below i61 is not even worth picking up.
I think people are losing money by not picking up blues or sub 60 yellows. I should probably sit down and do the math before I comment, but its just my opinion based on farming Act 1 for 200 hours.

You're spending more time hovering over an item to see the tooltip than you would be to pick it up. The only thing in my inventory at the beginning of a run is a stack of healing potions, so I have a good bit of space. I pick up everything and when my inventory gets full... TP to town, dump all the yellows in my stash, run to the merch to repair and sell all blues, go back through portal and continue. It can't take more than 30 seconds - 1 minute.

I probably pick up 150 blues during a run and this really adds up (150 * 500g) = 75k/run. That's only 13 runs to pick up 1 million worth of blues. (I think my 500g average estimate might be a little high, but I'd say it's close).

posted a message on When does farming with no MF > with MF
It used to be a simple matter of calculating how many rares/hour you could get in Act 1 vs. the number of rares/hour in Act 3 and using the drop % to see how many 63's, 62's, etc. you would find.

Since we recently learned that MF also effects the chance for greater # of affixes, this calculation is out the window.

I think that most people have come to the conclusion that racing through Act 1 with max MF is the way to go.

posted a message on Help!! Suggestion needed for my DH
I think stacking crit chance is better if you're going to use a bow. Xbow = big burst damage so the need for high crit damage. Bow = multiple hits for steady damage so you want your chance to be higher.

You can pump up your MF to get more legendaries, but you're not missing anything by not getting them. It's more of a letdown when you get one and identify it.

^ Ok ^ he should be fine then, that's just like what, 150 million in gear? ;)

Add to that the very real possibility of still being owned by Shielding/Reflect Dmg/Extra Health-teleporting mobs even with SS+Prep (and white mobs whenever you're careless), and I'd say pure glass cannon is not really the best build around for farming A3/4.

The good luck part of it is to get the drops that will sell for 150 mil? :P

it's actually not that expensivem 50/60 million i'd say but to be honest.... i'm always in smoke screen when someone comes near me... and then just run back a bit fire a few hits and if you get dmg but don't die, get nether tentacles with over 150k dps they will heal you 2/3k per hit and with prep and 30% cooldown rune you might be able to activate it 3 times haha but that's just luck.

There is no way in hell that the build you described is 50/60 million. The xbow you descibed (1200 dmg, 100+ dex, crit dmg + socket) is twice that amount, alone.

If you can find me a cheap dead man's legacy with 100+ dex and 18+ IaS, I'll buy it.

If that build was 50/60 million, I think there would be a ton of DH's using it. I don't know anyone that wouldn't want 150k dps and 30k health.

Sure the xbow with Crit damage is way to expensive, thats why i said, if you have the money but just a 1200dps 100 dex xbow is about 2/3 mil you just gotta play the auction house a bit and don't expect to get all that gear in a day.

I bought the dead mans i discribe for 1,2 mil. and a xbow 1231 dps 49% damage, 121 dex. 50 vit. for 1,5 mil. the andariels visage is the most expensive and a buyout will be atleast 2.5 mil. But you can get one for 1.5 mil if you bid on it and win.

How long ago did you buy them? I've sort of hit a wall on upgrades and can't find anything for under 20 million, now. Part of my problem might be that I like my current build and don't want to give up any of my stats. My current quiver only has 15% IaS, but I don't want to give up the 100+ dex, MF, and crit chance to get one with 18-20.

don't understand why more people don't use this
    Because they use SP/Gloom. :)

SP/Gloom certainly works well. The only issue that I have is that it takes a skill slot from something else. If my method works and frees up a slot for something else, then that's what I'm doing.

See some good advices here already. Here's a rather crazy one. I have around 15000 health orb pickup. What I do is quickly dps down some of the minions, SS to pick up the orbs, instant heal, then continue fighting. Its actually rather stable, and has good synergies will vengeance rune.

Not crazy, at all. This is what I do and don't understand why more people don't use this. Unless you're a glass canon using sharpshooter and have a huge DPS burst, this is easy and doesn't require many resources.

I normally spam attack until I'm down to around 30-50%, pop a potion, spam again until I'm down, smokescreen and run through the mobs to pick up the globes that they dropped.

posted a message on Demon Hunter Act 3 Inferno help
It's not Act 3 that you're having trouble with... it's Ghom. Getting a few resists isn't going to help with this fight. Most people are severely struggling with this fight and I spent 2 million in repairs trying to beat him.

There are a few videos on Youtube that give some decent tactics. I went with the Entangling Shot, Caltrops, and Flying Strike to slow him down. You have to try not to run too far each time and just move to the edge of each cloud that he lays down. You just need to slow him down enough so that the first clouds start to dissolve by the time you move around the room.

Spam flying strike on him whenever it is available. The 2 second stun will keep him from casting a cloud.

The rest of Act 3 is a breeze compared to this fight.

posted a message on Best act to farm gold?
There is a post around here somewhere detailing how to farm 500k an hour from NM. It involves getting all new gear with maxed out GF and as high a pickup radius as possible and then nuking entire rooms. Each run takes about 9 minutes and you can do them forever.

posted a message on 60K dps no SS and I still am bad?
Searched AH when I got home. Didn't go with 200 dex, but used this in search...

    100 Dex
    50 Vit
    40 AR

There are 3 pages listed under 200k and there were 7 items listed under 100k.

I also did a search for...

    125 Dex
    50 Vit
    Crit chance

There are 6 items listed for under 200k and 1 at 85k.

I need to stop salvaging them if the price is going back up, but I do find them all the time. Let me know if you're on the US server and maybe I can hook you up.

Is it still possible to jump ahead in the game? I'd like to get the plans for the Inferno Staff of Herding, but I just don't feel like finishing Act 3 or even bothering with Act 4 because I hated it the first 3 times.

I'm geared pretty good and should be able to handle it, and I'd rather just farm rather than progress any further.

The picture shows 8% IaS instead of 9.

Any idea how long you'll take offers? I won't be home for another 4-5 hours, but wouldn't mind taking a shot.
