Did you see the patch updates today? They nerfed all meteor and spectral blades.. There is literally nothing left that procs LOH or APOC any more at anywhere near a useful rate.
Yeah, several hundred million in gear will probably make it half work for a few stubborns, but they would rediculously better off to put that time and effort into any other class.
WW is still a viable CM proccing skill. Everyone was jumping on the meteor bandwagon because it had a decent proc rate but did more damage. Now if you choose meteor, it seems it will be mainly for dps whereas WW is used for procs.
I saw some streams with ppl playing metheor/chain reaction... it was insane dps... but felt kinda broken... saw them destroying packs on ml10 in a matter of seconds.
I took a good profit earlier in this patch, and managed to buy those pieces, but I am lacking MS, and it is SO annoying to move that slow. Should I resell the boot, go for a ms rare one and carry on, or just go for lacunis or innas pants? With 50m i wouldn't buy something top ofc, but i would like to get some insight on this matter...
Probably switch to archon afterwards! death to cm wiz
It will not be a "death".
As things are being posted, If you want to play the default difficulty, then you can still do things with ease with cm... the problem is how hard will the mobs hit if you apply a certain number to the /player difficulty.
And about the Purgatorium, it seems to be the same bosses, same mechanics, way more damage.
I hope to see a challenge again in the game, but I don't want to feel cheated with the current nerfs...
no it wont be the same thing, people are saying storm chaser will get a lower proc coeff. since the actual 50% is pretty nuts... try and play with wicked wind and tell me what you think...
Well, I do expect that nerf, but it might stay as it is, just because of the tornado movement that is unpredictable and a little bit unreliable when we are facing fewer mobs... I think blizzard would release a note on it... there are massive talks about SC nerf for quite sometime, and nothing came up...
If they come and adjust its coefficient, it might be under consideration running cm with like, 25 APOC minimum... I suck at the maths, but if we keep something near the cap of regen from crits, it wont hurt that much.

You should give a look at weapon comparison... if you want to compare only the weapon you need to reinform your offhand so it would work as intended... could you give us de option to compare mh with mh, oh with oh too?
I was saying about the Machine Level, where they are proposing to make things CRAZY HARD. If it will be that hard, and we won't be having good defenses via skills, what should we do?
That's my question, but hey, you guys don't read the thread carefully either.
Seems to me that for harder modes, you'd want to keep as much of your defensive capabilities as possible, so you'd likely keep high resists and use Prismatic Armor. Depending how high they tune the damage for, you might even have to just use Force Armor and optimize resists around that. Also, Archon form is getting a huge survival buff if they don't nerf the bonus armor and AR to that, since mobs are going to do considerably less damage.
I know it's not what you asked but the idea behind the nerf to the defensive abilities is so people don't feel pigeonholed into using them, so they can have more room to experiment with alternative skills and builds. This likely will just apply to normal Inferno mode, much like alternative builds mostly just applied to Act 1 Inferno or Hell before the 1.0.4 nerfs. Depending how they implement the new content we'll likely not change much when it comes to gearing and speccing for end game content.
The thing that I don't like on this, is that we will have to add new stats as mandatory when gearing. Getting the new legendaries with the usual stats, plus really high all resist, 200+ armor... those types of gear will have it's price too high... or we will have to hurt like, 15, 20k dps (even more on high end items) + and swap a source for a shield, just to compensate this mess.
I do agree that the actual changes to the game will make it a buff overall, but it is paradoxical... they design two new options to the game, to make it more challenging, and at the same time they nerf both energy armor and prismatic rune, so we get less bonus from armor and all resist.

Energy Armor will buff armor for 35%, and Prismatic Armor will buff AR for 25%.
AR equips should get a big boost on prices...
But let me stop whining and try to adapt:
Based not on inferno level, that will get a damage nerf too, but on Infernal Machine. If it's damage goes like, way back to launch days, where Inferno really was a challenge... what should step up in EA's place, or it will be still a good fit to our class?
PS: don't mind my english please... I'm not native :|
I would really like to try an Archon build. I'm geared for a CM/WW build right now. Would I need to change gear do you guys think?
you could just change your skills, and you will do very well with it. Might have a little problem to stay alive because of your low resists, but that is something easy to get, changing pants and chest for ones with more resist.
Also, is it just me or have they hotfixed the CM/WW build somewhere this week? Untill monday i was able to kill everything in a3 and tank it at the same time, even facetanking Ghom wasnt a problem. (This is all after 1.0.4, with the new WW type where you can stack 3 and cast a signature spell to gain a 4th faster one)
Then suddenly i kept dying all the time.
I decided to upgrade my wand (got a nice 870dps with 95x lifesteal) and up my resist to 750-800+ unbuffed.. And still im getting oneshotted!
I must say im quite low on VIT (18.9k hp) but just half a week ago i had +- 16-17k, less damage, less resist and i was able to do act 3 like a bulldozer!
Did you try force armor instead (I am assuming you are using Prismatic)? Your hp is too low imo, and even with 1k AR you should get some nasty hits sometimes using prismatic. Remember that the ET procs were cut in half and this affects LoH too.
I am trying to get a new wand and a socketed storm crow, but the patch is still fresh and the values are too damn high!
But the thing is, CM barely procs with spectral blades... the only thing that I saw proccing CM was WW, Meteor. None of the Signature Spells, Arcane Obs... nothing triggers it.
I got 40%crit, 1.5AS and 17APOC, and I really don't know what to do... I really don't want to play CM just to make archon up faster...
Deep Cuts is the best rune for CM proccing with spectral blades. It has a 88.9% coefficient while the other runes, like the one you have in that spec, only have a 66.6% coefficient. Arcane Orb coefficients range from 25% to 33% so it is barely noticable and not a good passive for AO builds.

I would have a question, btw...
