    I see, makes sense.

I kinda like it more than the other runes tho, it feels like it's more damage and gives me more tornadoes on my Sweeping Winds - Cyclone, could be my imagination but it certainly feels like it.

So, anyone knows for sure how much that skills stacks? It says in the description that the DoT can stack multiple times on the same enemy but it does not say how many stacks it can have. Does it work like Wizard's Magic Missile rune that stacks a fire dot indefinitely?

In 2.0.3 patchnotes there is a following line:

    • Skills that deal Physical damage should no longer benefit from items that increase elemental skill damage.*
If this is true, then i'd assume that other part of 'bug' or 'gameplay mechanics' - physical skills not recieving full bonus from weapon if it has elemental damage - was also 'fixed' (a lot of apostrophese in this sentence, but to be honest i don't know which is working as intended and which is not, but since this is a hotfix, I assumed it is indeed a bug).

BuCan't confirm it at this moment though.
I think it just means that Physical Skills were bugged before and got buffed by stats such as "Cold Skills deal x% more damage", it would be retarded if Physical Skills doesn't use the whole Damage of a weapon just because a part of that weapon damage is elemental.

sometimes you need to compare something where D3 is not showing you the +/- EHP%.
    Like when?
The Toughness stat is really misleading tbh.

Like if I change from Seize the Initiative to Sixth Sense I will raise in Toughness, but I will still die faster.

If I find a new head with lots of vitality and +% health that head will give me more Toughness than my head with lots of resistance, but I will still die faster with that full HP head.

If I were to completely rely on the Toughness stat I would barely be able to survive elites on T1.. Because I would have low resistance, low armor, really high health and really high dodge, but I would die in an instant anyway because I have no damage reduction so the elites basically deals true damage to me.

A good EHP calc will not include Dodge for example, because it's a RNG stat that helps you survive but doesn't really make your EHP higher. It will also tell you that getting more damage reduction and HP is better than more HP.

Toughness is still a good stat because I can use it to quickly see if the item is good or not, but I do not blindly look at only the Toughness.

The Damage stat is misleading as well, I've seen the tooltip tell me that an item is better than another even when it is not, like sure the item gives more Dex and Attack Speed but it gives no CHD or CHC so in reality it's worse. Sure, my whites will get stronger but my crits will get weaker and fewer because of the reduced CHC and those white hits really doesn't do shit, my crits go for 1M-2M while the whites are like 300-400k or something like that.

    Quote from PsyBomb

Gotta disagree with that. I've seen (heck, I'm USING) some very well-rolled Blues. I just think of them as Rares with a couple of irrelevant stats that aren't shown. Blues are legit items capable of greatness, so we can watch them fail just as hard as the Rares.

... that said, the blue pants with only level reduction were some SERIOUS fail...
Like I said, I think that this should be for magic items and over (blue+) but I also said what has been suggested by someone else.
Magic items can have good stats indeed, but in general they suck. Which is why I think those should be in this thread.
Someone else on the thread suggested that only Rares should be posted because of the quantity of the crappy blues.

My point with that post tho was that white and grey items should be left on the ground to rot away and not be posted here, if someone actually found ilvl63 daggers with 92DPS those had to be grey as it is impossible to find a white+ item with 92DPS.

I'm asking this out of ignorance and genuine curiousity. Could the level 63 dagger have been a grey item, causing it to be 92dps?
I haven't seen an ilvl63 grey yet, might be because I don't look at them but still.
This thread is about the worst ilvl63 item you have looted, who loots grey items?

If we are gonna count grey items in this hall of shame then I should start looting them and linking, can't be any worse.

imo, this thread should only be for magic items and over. And it has even been suggested that only rares should be allowed because blues suck in general anway.

Lies, there is no lvl 63 item in the game that can even have 92 DPS. I checked the only 2 ilvl63 daggers (the Veil Piercer and Darkblade) none of them could have under 200 DPS.

In fact, no ilvl63 weapon in the game can be lower than 200 DPS.

    Same here. It is stupid.
I have 3 lvl 60s, with a combined playtime of around 300 hours (it's not that much but meh can't play 24/7) and I have yet to see a set item, I haven't even seen a lvl 60 legendary.
It's all RNG, my brother got like 10 legendaries on his 270 hours playtime DH, atleast 5 of them was at lvl 60.

This game is NOT AH dependent. That is a fallacy. That is a steaming pile of bullshit.

Please interpret Bashiok's own words. PS, this is his clarification statement which previously specifically said that the AH was taken into account when determining drops.

    Bashiok:
What I said, and what is true, is that with far more players and an increased proliferation of item trade, we have to factor in how many items are being found by players and how quickly a player can gear up by 'sourcing' items from others through trade and the convenience of the gold auction house.

It has nothing to do with the auction house per se, but the general ease at which players have access to more items than they would without it and us needing to keep that in mind while balancing drops. It would be rather poorly thought out if we balanced drops completely ignoring all of the ways players can gear up, and trading is certainly one of them.

Obviously everyone wants the best gear possible as quickly as possible, and us attempting to mediate that through design that takes all factors into account is not always going to be a popular notion.

    [source]

PS, I don't think this is a bad thing, except in relationship to SET pieces, which I feel should be more common.

edit: I reread your statement and you're right, the game is absolutely NOT AH dependent. Taking the AH into consideration of drop rates vs. making the AH dependent are two totally different things.
Except that Bashiok is wrong, Wyatt Cheng is right. You should read the blog instead of some CMs faulty posts.
The drop rates are tuned for players that doesn't use the AH.

The blue post you linked was posted by Bashiok on 5/29 while Wyatt Cheng said that the drop rates are tuned for players that doesn't use AH on 6/15.

    Who is correct?
The CM who doesn't know shit about D3 and who have said that he rather play WoW?
Or the Senior Technical Game Designer who is one of the people that decides how the game is supposed to be?

Seriously, GTFO and go troll another game's forum, afaik this is Diablofans.com, not DiabloHATERS.com. Point out 5 other games this year that give same value for money.
Now that is not fair, D3 is the only game in which you will earn money instead of losing money.

    OnT:
    *New class/es
    *A few more levels (5-10)
    *Atleast one more act

That's what I am hoping for.

True, my monk is using the same build as like 95% of all other monks (with an exception of the few rare Daibo wielding monks).
Mantra, Heal, Serenity, Blind, Sweeping Winds and a Spirit Generator, the funny part is I really like the build, it's fun to play and I actually did choose these skills before I saw any guides about monks.
I probably wouldn't change it too much even if the 1.1 patch makes the other skills viable, unless they break the build by changing some skill in it ofcourse.

I did buy my gear on AH tho, but the fun in the game, for me, is finding gear to sell. I use my gold to upgrade my gear when possible. And the really good items is put on the RMAH for the chance to earn some pocket money.
The AH overall must be one of the best features of Diablo, but that's just me.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Beating Diablo2 with Fireball is not an easy feat, but it is a proof that anything is possible and I am sure that something similar is possible in Diablo3 aswell. Hmm, might be something to do when bored. Don't buy stuff from AH, don't farm stuff with other characters. Choose a build you want to use and then complete the game on Hell, try to progress Inferno with it, might not be easy/possible but won't hurt to try! :D

Damnit, brb gonna go test out some builds on my characters and then choose the one that is most fun and do it all again. :D

Excuse me, are you saying that Hell is complex?
Hell is just as easy as hell in Diablo2, where you can play almost anyway you want without being afraid of dying.
If you miss diablo2 that much and think that the Skill Diversity is so low in Inferno that you feel sick, then just play Diablo2 or stay in Hell as that is the Difficulty for you.

You could kill everything in Diablo2 with almost any damage skill available (some dude lvl a new Sorc and did Hell with it without outside help with only using Fireball).

Same is true for Diablo3 in hell, you can do it with almost any damage skill available.

I was actually bored of D2 I think four or five years ago, but thanks for making the assumption :) D2 hell mode was a breeze with dupped items and LoD. Play through first time without any saved gear and it wasn't a cakewalk. Same applies to D3, I didn't buy one thing from the AH and I personally found that I actually started to die. I bought some cheap crap in late hell mode and yes it became a cakewalk after that.

I find it amusing you actually think skill is a major factor to play D3, it's mainly gear driven just like D2 and D1. It's sure fun though, just not complex.

I didn't say that Diablo3 was complex, nor did I say that Inferno needed skills. But from most posts I have seen here, official forums and Reddit I can see that there is even people with full ilvl63 that can't beat Inferno no matter how much they try.

I didn't suggest that you go to Hell because Inferno is hard for you, I suggested that you go to Hell because it seems like from that post that you enjoy the ability to use any skill you think are fun.

Your point on using AH in D3 makes it easy and using saved/bought gear in D2 makes it just as easy is true.
But the guy that leveled from 1-Kill Baal on Hell (can't remember what level he got to) on a Sorc and only used Fireball didn't use any saved gear, he got all his drops from farming, if he couldn't beat a boss or complete a quest he went back and farmed up his level and gear.

It's the same for D3 on Hell, you won't have a super easy time the first time you get there without using AH.

i wouldnt say the game is dumbed down that much, in fact its less dumbed down than diablo 2, what do you do when you make a diablo 2 character? click all skills that synergize, no brainer there, with D3 you have to be careful with your skill combos, put thought into it and not just pick the next best synergy, sure you can skill swap, but that doesnt mean that every combo is good., and there are all of the ways skills can change with runes, LOTS of strategy to be had here, how is this dumbed down?

    Exactly.

Str to equip, Dex to hit, and everything else into Vit was hardly the pinnacle of complexity as well.

ATM this game is far from being complex and for the most part most synergies don't exist because many builds aren't viable at the moment. I wasn't trying to state that D2 was complex; I'm saying when video games are created they target teenagers, most fans of the series start Diablo when they were young. The min str max vit approach has been changed to, stack Damage modifier stat (Dex/Str/Int + IAS) with all resistances. They at least nerfed IAS so we have more options in stat distribution.

    As for skill combinations:

Normal - Max DPS/Fun abilities, endless combinations but no need for any CC or defense (Same approach as D2)
Nightmare - Same thing, maybe add one defensive ability and or passive.
Hell - Some thought process must begin and more often than not a balanced build is required (this is the only complex difficulty TBH)
Inferno - Max DPS Glass Cannon or Max defense/CC (High extremes in either spectrum not any different than D2).

Once classes/skills are balanced and addressed maybe there will be some complexity in skill choice, but I don't think it exists ATM.

D3: Find high damage spell + Oh shit button + Resource generator
D2: Max Damage Spell + Deal with immunity Spell + Utility Spell (Teleport)

Excuse me, are you saying that Hell is complex?
