Soo...topics is getting very repetative...Same old Barb asking how to go thru Act 3/4...
Here, from my experience, is what i've notice why did barb die like a bitch and start complaining.
1st. i'm not telling you L2P but here's some fact.
Act1 - Very minimal Range mobs, so barb don't suffer much and smash their face
Act 2 - Bees Bees and more Bees...Mob dies BOOM ACID and you cbf moving and BAM you are dead...
Act 3 - Loads of ADds...FLYING MONSTER SHOOT AND RUN...a bunch of Goad ppl summoning, running away, Range you and lol at your face...bunch of skele archer and minions shooting darts at you...
Act 4 - Breathing dragon...mobs that hits you for 50% hp, and they can range you like no tomorrow...Charge when you least expected, Armor debuff etc etc...
So, you guys see the change in pattern?
Anyway, my point is, range mobs is the one you should be focus on, and use the melee mob as your "heal" to revenge proc.
When i see a range, i will ignore every melee there is, Leap and smash that range instantly, and try to rotate CD if "shit got serious"
Apart from that, there's the Elite.
The most annoying ones for me is Fire chain, shielding. basically a GG.
Anyway, you can avoid taking alot of dmg by moving oppose to the way they are moving. Eg. they move towards you, you move backwards. This is one of the way i find very helpful. Though there is a learning curve, but once you master it, you can chuck away leap/charge to take up something abit more useful.
Anyway, this is not a guide, just from my own experience. I hope this post keeps rolling to share "how to handle a specific mob in a way".
When ppl says Viable, what they didn't tell is that you can't stand and tank adds while you are dps'ing a grp of mobs. SNB > Hit run hit run.
I think what some build is missing is the excitement to feel "Superior" where you stand and surrounded by packs and packs of adds, and not die. Sure, you'll have fun for that short period with Tornado build or hit and run with 2H, but nothing can replace the feeling of tanking with 2H/DW, killing tonnes of adds, not to run away, and killing everything in your path. That is what barb is suppose to do. Hit run is boring,
I've previously done mine with ard 36k hp, 20% block 1.1k phy resist, all others ard 900 to prenerf act 3 with high survivalbility and minimal death (Old gear). Only Act 4 you need abit more HP/block/resist to not skip any pack you've come across.
Have around 1.3k ish LOH with spear.
Passive Tough as nail, Weapon Master and Ruthless.
For me, i always kill Range 1st and try to ignore melee adds for Revenge proc (it will kill them sooner or later). Always kill the ones that hit you the hardest 1st, When you are overwhelm, Leap and tank, and your LOH will gives most of your hp back, if it doesn't Ignore Pain and will be fine, and if you are still stuck, hope your leap is back on, and GTFO, kite, wait for ignorepain again and they will die. But at the moment. Elite tend to stuck on stairs and they heal back to full, which is retarded. Ah well, kill 1 at a time.
Melee can't kill you that easily unless you are really being overwhelm (30:1). or Colossal Elite pack with image Zzzz
Armor 8.5k
17k dps
I also tend to swap to my 2H in the mid of fight when WOTB is up to burn elites down...when my HP is low...pop potion, swap back to SNB just incase i go splat.
Leap and ignore pain is too good to give up, if you are progressing. When you gear gets better (more resist and dps), you can take out leap and replace with Battle rage (30% dmg) if you want to.
Btw, you don't need gear that cost millions and millions, there are many ways you can avoid unnecesasry dmg. However, even with the best gear/high dps, you will still need a fair bit of awareness to not die. Till one day, you have like 1500 resist all, crazy armor, insane dps and charging in to a pack of inferno Act3/4 act and killing stuff that feels like in Hell Mode w/o depending much on CD, you would want to learn how to kite elite/adds better. Buy gear as if you want to clear content, but not BIS.
Not sure if everyone agrees but when a so called ilvl 63 item has really bad stats, does it even deserve to be called a ilvl 63 item?
I know Blizzard buff the ilvl 63 drop rate, but what they didn't tell us is that "YES, we will buff ilvl63 item drop rate BUT THE STATS WILL BE SO BAD LOL IN YOUR FACE!, There you go, WE HAZ BUFF THE DROP RATE"
isn't ilvl63 > ilvl62 ?
What i'm really interested to know is what kind of % are we talking about to get a really decent stats gear (doesn't matter which class). RNG roll has a formula too.
Eg. if out of 1 million drop, 8% is the ilvl 63 item, and out of that 8% drop, only 1% (800) of it is "so so stats" (where you can just barely use), 0.1% (80) of it you can "actually use" or AH, and 0.01% (8)of it is uber stats.
Drop rate is meaningless in this game, and so does logic down the drain.
If i didn't explain myself clearly, please feel free to correct me
Drop rates don't matter? Didn't your false math completely disprove that?
Of course drop rates matter. The more drops (higher drop rate) the better chance of getting the good stats you want.
I am so tired of seeing these posts pop up, it's stupid. People need to pull their heads out of their asses and realize RNG is RANDOM and you can't control random. If you aren't getting drops to upgrade your own gear and you are surprised then you are obviously completely clueless as to the concept of random. While you probably aren't dropping things that are upgrades for you, you are definitely dropping items that are upgrades for other people. USE THE AH. USE THE TRADE CHAT. SELL THESE ITEMS. GET GOLD. BUY UPGRADES. If this is so hard for a concept for people then those people really need to quit.
I sell most everything I list on the AH because I know what I am listing are things people want. I know what other classes are looking for in their gear. I list at a bid with a buy out of double my bid price according to what other similar items are selling for on the AH. I dropped a nice Dez/Vit/%life belt earlier today, ilvl62. I looked it up on the AH and the closest thing I saw was bid/bo or 2mil. Mine was way better so I listed at 2mil bid, 4mil BO. It had a bunch of bids within an hour then someone bought it. Yesterday I sold a ring for 3.5mil. And I have made mroe than 100 bucks on RMAH in the past week. You can't sit there and tell me your not getting useful items.
Ohai...I really don't feel like starting a "Flaming" Topic...btw, if you do read what i'm saying "If i didn't explain clearly, please correct me"....What i'm trying to say is...for example, Price of an item (clothing/car etc etc) cost $100, but due to end of the year clearance, i might just mark up to $200, and give customer's a 50% discount, and this is what i see from this so called "Buff".
And btw, the loot i was getting in act 3/4 pre nerf was at least abit more consistant (stats), guess that ilvl thing gets my hope high...and i think it affects the "logic" in alot of ppl too.

Wonder will i still have to run like hell when i see firechain/fast/jailer/con affix Act 3/4...hmmmm...just hope it isn't Stand, tank and spank in this patch..

There's always a down side in every so called "Viable" spec, no such thing as "Bang for bucks". It all narrows down to what kinda play style you like,
