Set up a pet heavy spec.. goofing off in Act 1 inferno right now with it, but eagerly look forward to the buffs to take it further...
Left Click - Dire bats
Right click - Locust Swarm - Devouring rune for mana return
1 - Zombie dogs - burning dogs rune for the aoe ticks
2 - Garg - Big stinker, again aoe ticks
3 - Sacrifice - next of kin, big dmg shot with a common respawn so you can blast 1-3 shots of it off before burning the CD re-spawning all the dogs
4 - Open (i personally use Corpse spider - spider queen for another aoe with fire and forget aspects
Passives - Jungle Fortitude, the reduced dmg will be handy with no defensive CDs for ya and the pets wont mind even less dmg
Fierce Loyalty - bonus regen for the pets, and some thorns dmg dont hurt
Blood ritual - extra regen for the pets and yourself and little easier to keep the dire bats going
Pretty straight forward play, locust swarm on big groups, and then dire bat, on bosses it is dire bats with swarm and pets doing the majority... It is really a more lazy man's play style.. if you do not want to spend all the time running around and hiding and kiting and just wanna kick back and collect loot then it will be ideal for you.
Gearing for this will be not that bad, you will look more raw stats, and less crit/crit dmg.. so tons of Int, Vit, and resists... Add in regen and thorns where possible for an extra fluff and you will do good. Now the key thing that will make it a bit nicer.. proc effects... the pets can trigger them and so you will want them.
Try for some freeze or stun (stun can be pricey on some items) get around 4-6% and yours pets will take even less damage since most the things will not be moving much.. add in some Life Steal on the weapon and you are getting tougher.
of the legendaries i have seen procs listed the Gidbinn looks quite promising for this kind of spec since it procs the fetishes and would give you even more pets to keep things away from you

The drop in subs are not so astronomical thing for WoW, their revenue has gone up not down (pre-D3 sales figures too), they make content for the majority not minority.
I got bored playing wow, so guess what... I unsubbed and stopped playing. That is all, it is not a bad game, neither is rift, AoC, or the dozens of other mmo's... They all have their thing and can be quite fun. D3 was not some shit game that no one likes... You do not like a game that you paid for? Well next time do not rush into buying something, wait for a demo, or for a friend to pick it up and try it. Seen all the vids of DH doing the gold farming with high GF gear...so i decided to try it with a monk.
Popped on the GF gear, got up to 192% with 21k dps... activated a Air ally, and Mantra of Conviction - submission rune... then i went to Nightmare act 1 just to see how it would do.
Well nothing ever touched me... it fell dead just walking past it.
Which got me wondering, so i dropped game started a fresh Act 1 nightmare up at imprisoned just like a normal farm run, and i blazed through with Tempest Rush to speed me along more. Took about 20-30mins (was alt tabbing some), and i got a few dozen socketed weapons that will sell easily (level 27-30 with 60-80 stat rolls) and 200k gold....
So yeah, if anyone else out there is bored, you should try this out. I am sure with higher DPS you could do Hell just as easily, i personally havent tried it yet but yeah overall it is quite amusing and decent cash easily.
heh be nice if soul harvest became a 5min buff that would siphon the souls of the dead to the 5 stacks... and would gradually wear off 1 stack every 30sec that there is not a corpse around to refresh the stack
then you would have to keep killing to keep the stacks up but it would work passively for ya...
mmmm you have some horrible RNG luck Thomas... i have my WD for Act 3 farms and my DH is my Act 1 farm... my DH is packing 341% MF at 5 stacks and gets gear that sell for well over a million commonly... made a few hundred bucks selling on RMAH as well and get upgrades for my WD sometimes too...
But i have noticed like my friend.. he claims to have farmed Act 1 a ton, but you check and he only has 3k elite kills... i have over 10k and i do not farm 8 hrs a day like he claims to do...
That is a problem i think most are not acknowledging, that they do not farm as much as they claim and their kill counts show it pretty obviously
it is funny how many people instantly jump on the "damn blizz and they unfair ban me!!" and then never do a damn thing but bitch about it...
I use to run 2 wow accounts, and one got hacked... guess i was lucky it was an oddball hour (around 2-3am) and took 5 mins to get everything restored and fixed right there... No refusal, no drama, just a quick "sorry it happened get an authenticator"...so i did for both accounts...
Most of those screaming and whining that blizzard will not restore their account when they did nothing wrong are full of shit. Blizzard has zero problem admitting a mistake on their part, if you point it out... Sadly a majority of those claiming unfair bans were botting, scamming, harrassing, or the myriad other ways to get banned...
Hell just look at how most talk in their post "fuckin blizz ni**a fucks" and worse... if they cannot type a simple forum post without resorting to racial slurs then a good chance they are responsible for the ban.

I was running 8000+ thorns and 1200+ regen... the grasp is easily changed for locust, soul harvest, or bears if you want, or if you use the Scoundrel with a cold weapon..
The self reviving dogs were great for some big hitting shots on elites and packs... just do rush it cause they do not respawn right next to the target
heh i sometimes get bored and just do a full clear of all 4 acts on nightmare then throw some gems in the socketed weapons/armor and they all sell fast.. at least 10k a pop and when i get those 100+ stat roll on an level 27 item i can get 50k+ with no effort...funny how insane the stats are on that stuff when rolling it with a 340 MF lol
Well i got all 5 classes at 60, beat inferno on the monk, the WD/Wiz and DH are Act 3 and the barb is Act 2 (not good on barbs at all)...
I farmed a ton with no MF gear at all (bout 100-150hrs on WD) and managed to snag over 20 legendaries and enough ilvl 60-63 to full gear all 5 classes... then i did some farming on the monk and finally said screw it... tossed a little bit of money at GAH and got the DH a MF set... only running 294% so nothing huge... just wanted to test it..
heh loving the dramatic improvements on my loots, and selling things for a bunch more then previously... I also think some are just being insanely critical of items as well. That 750 dps 1h may not seem great to you but throw it up on GAH for 20-50k and make some one happy with a decent weapon for a cheap price... made you some money, got them some more gear..win win imho
oh.... well im on the Kulle quest with the build right now lol.. as for the molten/plague the pets stand in that and dont die with my Regen now... the life draining dogs with 1200+ life per second just keeps them going np
Only time they die really is if the mob can 1 shot them... i die much more frequently then the pets lol
one thing that helped the dogs live a ton longer was the dps increase.. since they get life back based on your dmg (just like % life convert) so the dps boost i did made them much tougher... now if i was to have some very nice gear with say 40-50k dps and good amount of life regen and thorns... yeah im betting you could plow through the stuff in Act 2 easily and act 3 slowly lol...
Dont really see the spec making it through Act 3 though... the stuff just starts hitting way to hard per shot to clear it with pets...
But hey they did say they had a lot of buffs planned for WDs in 1.04 so who knows, maybe pets will scale with player stats then things get really fun lol

I am well past 300 hrs (working from home has its perks), and yes i still enjoy that game...course i only see it as a game and nothing more...

I have a Monk i leveled up just the other day and am currently in Act 3 inferno...not bought a single thing for him from GAH or RMAH... just got some big loving from the RNG goddess (i did some things i am not proud of and i need bandages on my rectum but by god i got my gear from her)...
So yeah...just play the game you enjoy, stop this whole "oh this game is better cause i like it"...seriously you sound like a small 3 yr old child whining cause you are not getting your way.
If you do not like diablo 3 then do not play it.. if you like it then play it...Personally i find it a blast, a game that i paid 60 bucks for, already made all that money and more back on (free game) and i get to do it while goofing off with friends smashing in the face of hordes of demons...works for me
Course i dont like FPS games, any of them...find them drool and repetitive...but oh wait...i am not going to their forum boards or what ever and trashing on the game saying how much it sucks and then playing it and complaining more...that damn common sense is just so rare i guess...
