posted a message on Bloodshard - quality of life

If I was in Blizzards shoes I wouldn't add this change. Reason being that I bet they get a lot more complaints about "the system selected the wrong class and I wasted my shards" rather than what they receive now for people having to switch characters. They have to cater for simple minds.

    5) Close the rift immediately after guarding or go til the end

    1) Yes. All trash in between packs just get one shot.
    2) No.
    3) DBs always. Mats, salvage fodder sometimes.
    4) Yes.

posted a message on Experience vs Ruby in helm

Will the extra life make you clear rifts 4.1% faster? Doubt it.

An argument could be made for certain classes running the CDR gem that the extra CDR lets them clear faster or do higher difficulties more efficiently leading to more XP per hour than running a ruby.

I think i remember a blue post ages ago saying they didn't want to make stats available as it would cause uproar in the player base with complaints about class balance and lead to toxic behavior in public games.

    Quote from BlackcurseLT»

i would like to ask a question here guys and any feedback is appreciated. i just found an ancient Dawn with dex, vit, ias and only54% cdr. as i havent found a second one yet i was wondering, is chakram marauder that good with or without those rolls or should i just cube it? i'm just asking because the only build that uses it on hand is chakram and i have no idea if that build is worth it. thanks in advance

Cube it ASAP so you can use Vengeance in all your builds for much more efficient farming.
Reroll some of your gear to CDR. Aim for 37% CDR but you can get away with anything over 30%.

Damn I know this feeling haha. I've blown through ~600 FS in the past day upgrading gear and trying to craft the elusive perfect hellfire neck. I crafted 35 Hellfire necks and had no luck.

I'm running a speed farming T8 HotA build with Sages. It gets about 500 DBs and 55 legs per/hour. Use those DBs to upgrade rare items in hope of upgrades, if not DE them so it works out to 75 FS per/hour.

posted a message on This Banwave is a joke imo

This is a video game. I can't stress that enough.

The schadenfreude in this thread is ridiculous. Vindictive comments from people condemning the people who used this exploit as if they had been personally victimised because of this. These people really need to reconsider their life position.

This is a video game. There are no tangible or monetary prizes for getting to high rankings.

I imagine the majority of people reveling with joy because of this weren't even in the top 1000. This ban, has no affect on your position on the ladder. The ladder is a made up novelty ranking system to stroke your epeen. If you care about these ranking that much - once again I seriously recommended you take a step back and reconsider your life.

    This is a video game.

I suggest playing in a group if you can. The advantages for XP gains are exorbitantly greater in groups.

High Level grifts are the key to good xp/hour.

I think WD or DH would be fastest.

Barbs are pretty good as well.

Best I can get on my monk is around 400/hour. I've seen some DHs on reddit claiming 600/hour.

Do yourself a favor and quit the game. You seem to have misconceived ideas of what the game is about and what makes it fun and we can't change those perceptions given your defensive stance when people signify how your opinion comes across- summed up perfectly by others.

You're very unlucky. I'm having no luck on Tasker and Theo Gloves, I've spent 21K shards on gloves and have gotten nothing.

posted a message on TF or Doombringer?
    1. I'd probably assume you're better off using leeching beasts still. My TMF dog crits for ~30M - I'm running no extra dog passives, 19% physical, 28% dog dmg. The big dog does not benefit from 3x the LoH. 1 hit = 100% LoH.

    2. I run a TF for my build and it works fantastic - especially so for T3 or lower. It's up to you but try it out. The TF proc is very underrated.

    3. Zuni's is crap in it's current state. Better items to run are things like:

    Chest - aughilds for 3pc

Off-hand: Thing of the deep, Uhkapian serpent

Boots: ice climbers, firewalkers, blackthrones (if 2pc +), cains (if 2pc)

    Rings: SoJ, TMF, RoRG

posted a message on The Witch Doctor = Best class / Best builds / Best set bonuses / Best at everything?
    Quote from southwick
    So to recap:
You are doing really well on your WD and have 3 pieces of Zuni, after claiming they are your only decent pieces of gear. You have also rolled enough shards to get 3 Frostburns which are incredibly rare. You also state that your Crusader has 0 set items. You do realize that the Zuni set is just as rare as your Crusaders gear, you just got lucky, and have managed to quickly outgear your crusader?

It is odd how my wizard friend, who plays 1/3 as much as I do, has managed to find some amazing items (2 set pieces, 2420 damage Sever) and now does more damage than I do. Since ROS I have found exactly 1 set armor piece, blackthornes boots, so I don't think we should be declaring WD OP based on some very hard to assemble gear (yes getting 3 set pieces in 20hrs is very lucky).

Looking at the drop chances posted, StarMetal and Taker and Theo are two of the rarest items in the entire game. Players who find both should generally be fairly rare.
Instead of reading the first few lines of my post - read it all and you'll see a few of my explanations why I think WD are the strongest class atm.

They are insanely OP. Pets just scale to well and they have an abundance of OP items.

I switched from a Crusader to a WD and absolutely love it. I was extremely lucky and got 3 pc Zunis in my first 20 hours of farming and be able to do T6 in that short amount of time (makes up for 120 hours on Crusader and 0 set items)

    I'm running http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#lcYUPQ!WVTe!bZcabb

Only decent pieces of gear I've got are: Zuni boots/offhand/ring (awful rolls) and a MoJ. I've spent ~13K shards on gloves so far and have got 3 frostburns but still no tasker and theo. Once I get tasker and theo i'll start trying for a starmetal kukri.

With my current shit gear i'm pulling 50M dps and 75M burst with BBV up. With optimal gear this build would be more than capable of pulling consistant 100M dps and having close to 50-75% uptime on BBV.

The items synergise so well and pets scale stupidly well.

I have 8-12 fetishes up hitting for ~7M (~12M in optimal gear). 3 dogs hitting for a pathetic 600K (1M in optimal gear) but with 10K LoH i'm also getting healed constantly for about 20-30K hps which is nice for face tanking stuff in T6. All these pets are great for tanking mobs and proper use of piranhado stuff will never be near you. You'll never die with proper use of spirit walk and the occasional spirit vessel proc. This build is all about staying alive as you can prioritise staying alive without a massive loss to your dps. Not channeling firebats is only a 30% dps loss so you can literally just afk and still be doing 70% of your maximum dps - very OP.

Starmetal Kukri is such a great item - if you're running wth 2 x Zuni WDs with it you've got close to 100% uptime on BBV which is a great buff.

CC from piranhado, pet tanks, 15% dmg (piranhado), 25% AS/30% dmg (BBV) - what's not to love about havign a WD in your party.
