posted a message on The Real Reason for Gold Selling / PVP Delays
Thread title is a bit hyperbolic; this thread is about some potential reasons for the delay of RMAH commodities and PVP delays.

    Short answer: gambling laws.

Technology reasons are not adequate to explain the delay of RMAH gold selling. Legal reasons are; once gold can be traded for cash legitimately, a grey legal area arises given the randomness inherent in the game. A summation of gambling is: put something of value in, play game of chance, get something out. Finding gold in-game is almost completely a game of chance, especially when it comes to smashing pots.

The item RMAH was probably delayed initially for similar legal reasons, but it is a bit more divorced from a game of chance; the legal point is that players are selling content, and that content is user-generated.

The delay in PVP is also possibly due to legalities; game elements such as gold or item wagering would make PVP big, but run into legal problems as well due to the RMAH. If gold selling on the RMAH goes live, it could permanently prevent such wagering; however if they decide to never enable gold selling, it could make gold wagers in PVP viable. Another reason for the delay thus comes up: testing to see whether adding gold selling or PVP gold wagering (combined with item RMAH without gold) would bring the most profits.

This truly is the troll thread that keeps on trolling. OP hasn't even replied, nor needed to.

I'm updating my score to a very solid 9/10.

A quality troll. Follows the first rule of exploiting emotional investments well by showing real-life destruction of said emotional investment. Troll has a two-pronged hook; you win whether one rages at the outrageousness of the act, or from the value-destruction itself. Bonus points for having no words, merely three images.

Hilarious thing is that even if he is legitimately banned, nobody will believe him! That's what you get for crying wolf, I guess.

All those words and nothing said. The information to content ratio of your post is abysmally low. It doesn't read is if you have formed (and are presenting) clear, well thought-out ideas, but merely have some nebulous haze of feelings you are trying to convey.

I'd probably agree with you, if I knew what you were trying to say.

I always trust the calculations and numbers of individuals who cannot even write a coherent sentence. You are in serious need of English tutoring, OP. Perhaps you should take a summer course instead of playing Diablo.

what do you think your whole set has run you so far? or would be worth in gold even?

No clue. I do know that 15 million wouldn't buy me a single upgrade. So uhm, at least 150 million?

    My gear:

Love my sword, even it's name is awesome.

    Enchantress:

I actually spent 3 million gold to upgrade 2 gems to give her 8 more intel merely to bump her past the 7000 DPS mark.

Have similar awesome? Post it here!

It is funny how insanely ******* majority of posters in this thread are. You guys are all upset because to him Diablo 3 sucks sack and to you it is the only game you could ever witness a "hard" difficulty in a game before.
Starting with a bigoted slur against disable people isn't the way to curry favor. Reported.

Diablo 3 is easy, it is brain dead, and it does not require skill. It is VERY VERY gear dependent, if you don't get super lucky, get fed, spend all day MFing, then you do not progress. Your skill has little to nothing to do with progressing in this game.

There's strategy involved in planning your gearing, selecting your gearing, and having it work with your build. Your gear should work as a cohesive whole, and this take planning.

There's tactics involved with positioning, ability use, managing cooldowns, crowd control, and balancing DPS with damage mitigation and healing.

There's skill involved with appraising your items and other's to make effective trades, and getting the most bang for your buck. Diablo has always been focused on items, and the GAH merely facilitates the important trading element by providing a currency to streamline trading.

The definition of skill is arranging the situation in such a way that you get "lucky" more often. This is mere statistics; you can do a soft version of this via learning and trial and error (figuring the best ways to farm), or supplement this with math (timing runs and figuring rares per hour.) Switching to MF gear before finishing off an opponent involves risk (I have died many times to this, and on some enemies forego it to avoid risk) as well as reward.

The patch, while making the game much easier for me, has freed up a larger range of build considerations; I am in the process of balancing DPS with defense, which takes skill and learning.

    Where's this "no skill" now?

Then again, this is Diablofans. The land where all the children who are brainwashed by Blizzard come here. Should of seen it before release haha, oh the stupid bull shit they would say and try and pass off like this game was gonna be the greatest game ever. Funny how many of you pathetic spineless losers vanished or won't even comment on how shitty the mechanics and core game function is when I bring it up to you now where as before you an avid Blizzard fanboy who would die to keep their honor.

...And you finish off with trolling and flaming. Way to make a serious point. Protip: if you don't like it, get out.

posted a message on 1.03...more bad than good???
As barb, I went from 20k DPS to 15k. Thankfully I stacked a bit of crit in addition to IAS.

I facerolled an Asmodan run. I didn't die one, nor get close to dying after killing 5 elites, then Cydaea and Asmodan. After hunting and killing 6 additional rare packs in Keep Depths 1-3, I still didn't get close to dying. I fight 2 champ packs at the same time at one point.

I can tank and stand in plague and molten patches, and fire chains as long as I am attacking and getting LoH. I didn't even worry about being dinged by arcane beams, only if the source balls spawned directly beneath me.

I'll kind of miss the challenge, but at the same time, I can now begin to experiment with different builds and gear stat configurations now that I can afford to be more offensive. I've already swapped out 2 of my vit gems for strength.

Fighting additional packs after Azmodan runs makes things a bit more interesting, and a bit more rewarding as well. It also makes things more adjustible in terms of how long I want to play for a session.

IAS truly was overpowered; now it is on a par with crit stacking and feels right. After browing the AH and getting a modest upgrade for my previous IAS weapon, weapons seem a whole lot more balanced, and with more variety. In particular, weapons with more interesting affixes like damage bonus to elites and chance to immobilize are mixed in with others among the top items in various price tiers.

Here's a link to the weapon I picked up: http://i.imgur.com/qvWBV.jpg Has a whole lot of character to it in my opinion. The increased elite damage makes it behave like a 950 DPS weapon against such enemies, while the immobilize chance gives an interesting ability. Can't beat the name "Silver Standard" either :)
