I'll just leave this here in case someone feels especially creative:

The Lost Jeweles of Princess Reine. (3 piece set, 2 rings and ammy. Come up with any affixes per piece and set bonuses)

That's against the rules, one item per person

I saw no such rules :)

Armageddon's Crux - two hand legendary bow. go!

% Chance (ranges from 30-90) to rain down firey destruction on all enemies in 25 yards. Enemies caught in Armageddon are Ignited. Ignited enemies have lower defense and a low chance spread Ignite to other enemies on contact.

we might see a beta, but It would probably be in December/January depending upon their release date. The reason the beta for D3 was done so early was because they were testing so many new features and functions. With this expansion you won't be seeing nearly as much in terms of new mechanics and game design. You will not see RoS released in 2013 so I don't know why there is speculation on that. Blizzard has given you the year of 2014 and when have we ever known blizzard to release anything early or 'on-time'. cough every game they've ever done, cough.

It may be a huge change in diablo 3 but its still an expansion not a new franchise emerging, i doubt they'll postpone a given release date for an expansion

I didn't really say they would postpone this, but they've done it in the past. Like i said, they don't give release dates until they are 100000000% sure its ready. You will never see them give you a date until several months before release.

The only "official" date that matters is the quarterly projection conference call with investment brokers/stock markets. The developers can say whatever the hell they want "Tomorrow.... When it's ready..... When it's perfect.... blah blah blah" But when the bean counters get on the phone and tell the other bean counters a major revenue source is imminent then you can start believing dates.

That's a good point and something to keep in mind. We could potentially see two major releases from Blizz next year (possible WoW xpac and RoS). Even though they may seem otherwise releases dates are not arbitrary and will probably be in line with lulls in Blizzards' standard fiscal forecast.

From a programming perspective it would just be a "IsExpansion" flag. It's handled at the account level, right? So you either have it or you don't. They still have not announced what all will be available to vanilla customers compared to expansion customers either, with respect to Act V and the new class. They have been doing this same thing in WoW for years so I am confident they have that aspect under control. (Famous last words).

I would also love to see something like the "sell junk" feature too. Send your companion back to town and a minute later, hello gold. That could also solve the "we have a reason to pick up white items now" potential issue as well. I know inventory management is part of the game but having to go back to town frequently kills pacing.

Mutilate, have to disagree a slight bit here, with all due respect.

I've played Torchlight, and although I did find it convenient to have my pet go back to town to sell my junk and bring the gold back, I thought it was a bit gimmicky. I mean, you can do that with a pet, a pet mindlessly/loyally obeys. Followers are actual people, with (dare I say) thoughts and feelings. Not saying it's "insensitive" to ask Kormac or Eirena to drag your junk back to town for you, but...do you see a treasure-hound like Lyndon being okay with that, realistically? ;-)

In all seriousness, I know Blizzard wants to keep us out killing monsters, which arguably is the juicy backbone of playing a game like this. I know I love killing monsters as much, if not more, than any of the next guys...but I do think there's some benefit to heading back to town for a short breather, taking a look over your stash and inventory situation, maybe doing a spot of crafting, etc.

That was the motivation for them taking out the Nephalem Cube and the Cauldron of Jordan. You put those in the game, you almost have no reason to go back to town at all. Except to advance the story, and they could just as easily have the people you need for storylines appear farther up the trail somehow.

However...I do kinda wish that Followers could be outfitted with more gear. I mean, they can equip two rings, an amulet, and they have a main hand and offhand, technically (I think the Templar is the only one that can use two items, though), but I'd love to see the Followers revamped to have as many gear slots as your own character has.

Maybe...even updated Follower models in-game? Maybe Follower transmog? Boy, that'd be too much to hope for.

Disagree away! We're just talking about opinions :)
I get what you mean with it being gimmicky. My concern is more about some of the system changes that would cause you to have to take more trips back to town; white items as crafting reagents for example. As is I only pick up Rare/Legendary when farming and the pacing feels right most of the time. Adding more stuff that "feels mandatory" and it may get too much. Maybe just have a feature that auto salvages your whites as someone else suggested. (Sorry I forgot who said it first).

I would also like to see more customization with followers. I also wouldn't mind them announcing a new follower!

Isn't it a bit early to say "the expansion will be released next year" (check Athene's interview with D3 game director)? I forsee a great decline in RMAH use and even less players online if we have to wait 6-12 months. Why would Blizzard let us know this many details about the expansion so soon, unless they plan on release before christmas?

Just a thought. I don't mind waiting, but it seems a bit odd.

    Thoughts?

Because they also released information on Loot 2.0 / Paragon 2.0 which is a patch that will come before the expansion and the patch may come before the end of the year. The patch itself may come at the same time as the Expansion but nothing is clear yet.

This keeps coming up and will continue until something official is announced. If WoW patching is an indication they seem okay with long(ish) droughts in content prior to an expansion. I think they shot themselves in the foot talking about Loot 2.0 as a stop gap before the xpac and maybe they didn't realize the scope of work and implications when they said something. If we don't see something prior to RoS it's going to be a bit of a gamble for Blizz but I think they feel confident that people will come back regardless. Risk versus reward at this point.

The official site specifically says "Coming 2014". While Blizzard is notorious with release dates I have never seen them release something early. I commented that Open Beta after Blizzcon would be nice but I think that's a pipedream. The game looks to be in a decent state at the moment but I am sure lots of work is still ahead of them. If the game is out by May 2014 I will be impressed.

Good eyes! More space is definitely needed. I do like the TL style of personal + shared so that would be a welcome addition IMO. Does anyone else love how delightlfully awkward Josh is? It may have been nerves, but he seemed so unpolished and all over the place. I get the vibe that he is a fan just like the rest of us and was geeking out during the whole thing too. It was refreshing and made me feel like the game is in the right hands now.
