posted a message on Three Endgame Suggestions
@Morm, if you read my comments again, I'm not suggesting they make another difficulty. I'm simply suggesting that once I've beaten Inferno Diablo, I can farm any act that I want and have the mobs be as difficult as they are in A3/4 and drop the same loot. It would give me some variety when I log on, as opposed to now when I log on and think "Well, I guess I can farm Siege/Cydaea/Azmodan like I have been the last month."

@Ed: I'd also be in favor of a save state, for sure.

The first one is more of a suggestion to make farming much more interesting.

    1. Blizzard obviously put a lot of time and effort into making Acts 1 and 2 fun and interesting by providing different areas, mobs, quests, and characters; but the problem is, I have no incentive to ever step foot in them again. Once a character is at the point where they can farm Act 3, Acts 1 and 2 serve no purpose (other than Whimsy I guess).

Solution: Make an "Inferno Plus" difficulty setting, where the mobs in Act 1 and 2 have their Level, HP, Damage, Resists, and loot tables scale to that of the mobs in Acts 3 and 4. This makes it so when I log in, I'm not pigeonholed in farming Act 3 like a zombie, instead I can choose which Act I want to have fun in for the night. I particularly care for Act 1, but there's literally no point to killing stuff there now.

    2. Endless Dungeon: I want a really challenging dungeon, that will give more and more loot the further I go. I suggest that Blizzard create a dungeon where each level the mobs progressively get harder, the % Chance for ilvl 63's to drop gets higher, and I have no way to port out.

Each 1-3 levels would have a change in scenery, and the only way to save loot is every 10 levels I reach a Rest Area. This area enables me to access my stash and store the items I have collected. While I'm in this area I have the choice of exiting the dungeon, or continuing on. If I do continue on, I will have to go another 10 levels before storing items or having the opportunity to leave. If I die, I lose all the items that I have gained through the whole dungeon, including those put into the stash. Friends are welcome to join you, but they can only enter at the start, or during one the Rest Areas. If a friend dies, you can resurrect them, but only in the Rest Area.

I feel this would give a huge risk/reward payoff as I get further and further to the point where ilvl 63's are dropping all over the place, but the enemies are getting insanely hard (possibly having more than 4 affixes at some point). I have to make the choice as to if I want to chance getting more loot, or if I should take the money and run (so to speak).

    3. Monster Arena (lolname): A huge arena where you can join with friends or solo wave after wave of incoming elite/champ packs, for a nominal fee of course! It would start off small, but it would eventually crescendo into more and more elites/champ packs until you or your party are overrun. To make it even more insane, the longer you last the more affixes the elites/packs could have (4+) and/or the Arena master could start releasing storyline bosses like the Butcher or Cydaea along-side elites/champs.

This would serve as a great gold-sink, and the further you get the more "points" you earn. These points could be based off of the number of elite/champ packs killed, or simply the time survived. There are a couple ways these points could be used:

    A) A custom vendor sells ilvl 61, 62, and 63 unidentified rares that can be purchased for points that were gained in the arena. The obvious advantage is that the player gets to choose what items they want. The disadvantage is that most players know what has the potential to sell for a lot of money, and this can potentially flood the market with tons of rares.

B ) A customer vendor sells ilvl 61, 62, and 63 unidentified bind-on-pickup rares that can be purchased with points gained in the arena. The advantage to this is that there is no fear of messing with the economy by flooding it with items, the main advantage is that there is no monetary gain possible. Also, you would not be able to share loot with friends who might be in need of the items.

    C) This is just in addition to either A or B, but both vendors can sell aesthetic items such as custom armor dyes that make your armor look unique, character perks like buffs to followers (+% to damage, primary stats, resists, etc), banner sigils, or things to make your character look different, similar to the CE Wings. I really like the idea of adding "XP-Potions" that can be purchased, so when leveling another character with a friend you can get boosted XP for both of you (Or yourself). This would encourage people to level more toons, or level with a friend who recently started playing.

Please feel free to add any feedback or suggestions, thanks!

posted a message on ww sprint with ll instead of loh
One thing I forgot to think about when trying to decide to go for LL or LoH is that LoH works much better with Overpower - Crushing Advance. I am around 66k DPS with Battle Rage, and the difference between a 650 LoH weapon and a "3%" LL weapon on a molten/desecrate/plagued pack is huge. I'd stick with LoH buddy.

posted a message on Is Blizzard Opening Themselves Up to Lawsuits? (RMAH)
Again, I'm not saying that I am going to sue Blizzard, but class action lawsuits are often extremely profitable for an attorneys office and they will take on several cases at a time know that it will stretch on for years.

I worked for a fast-food restaurant in college and I got a letter from an attorney saying I could participate in a CAL against them for unpaid overtime wages. 3 years later I got a check for $1500. Sadly, most companies just end up settling after years of the legal process has gone by, because it's probably less expensive to just settle than it is to go through even more years of paying attorneys and legal teams.

Oh I'm sorry, I was under the impression that there was a hardcore RMAH. Okay good to know, so what about #2? Nerfs to things people spend RL money on?

Please don't mistake this for another whine-fest thread about how the RHAM is unfair or unbalancing, and I'm not suggesting people start a lawsuit. I was talking with a friend last night about the legality of the RMAH, and we were wondering about 2 possible scenarios in which Blizzard may be open to legal ramifications.

    1) People buying items on the Hardcore RMAH, dying to server lag, and losing hundreds, possibly thousands of dollars that was out of their control. I realize that when you create a Hardcore character you agree that you cannot have the character restored due to latency, but when Blizzard's servers go down or severely lag, I have to think that people could have legitimate legal recourse.

If I have an Etrade or Scottrade account and I go to place a buy/sell, their servers work and I (ideally) make money. If I bought stock, then it disappeared a few days later due to "server issues", you can bet your ass that company is on the line for the investments that I lost. If the Blizzard servers are performing poorly and kill my character, I have to think they could be subject to legal action. Again, I know these are different scenarios, but it makes sense that if Blizzard is charging fees for selling items that they should be on the hook for some expected levels of service.

From the EULA which was in all caps, which I find ironic because Battle.net forum mods seem to take great offense to threads or posts in all caps:

"BLIZZARD IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR YOUR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. IN NO CASE SHALL BLIZZARD BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, PUNITIVE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, THE BATTLE.NET BALANCE SERVICE, ANY GAME OR ANY GAME CLIENT. IN NO CASE SHALL THE LIABILITY OF BLIZZARD EXCEED THE AMOUNT THAT YOU PAID TO US DURING THE SIX (6) MONTHS PRIOR TO THE TIME YOUR CAUSE OF ACTION AROSE"

Sure, people agree to this, but I really think there's an attorney out there somewhere who can get around this. I'm not an attorney/paralegal/whatever, but the line where it says "DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE" makes me think they could be open. The problem arises when we CANNOT use the service as intended, thus losing a character.

    2) People spending money to deck out a toon, then Blizzard nerfs something like IAS. This one is a bit weaker, but it makes more sense if you think about it. Say I spend $500 to gear up my character with 5000 of stat A. Next month Blizzard decides that stay A is too strong, and it needs to be nerfed. After the nerf, stat B is much more appealing. I then have to go back to the RMAH and buy that gear because I'm no longer as strong as I was before.

Don't mistake this for an expansion reset, because that's not what this is. Blizzard is sanctioning the purchasing of items in game. In the past, if people wanted to buy things with RL money they would have to go to a 3rd party website, and if in-game things were changed, that's too bad. Now, with Blizzard taking a cut of all RMAH sales, they can possibly manipulate the market creating sales by lowering/increasing the usefulness of certain stats.

I'm not trying to start a flame-war or a petition to sue or anything, I just want to get other's opinions on legality of the RMAH. Thanks!

posted a message on Price Check on 30% Stormshield
Just go to the AH and check what current prices are. I've seen poorly rolled 17%-20% block ones going for 4m-6m. That one is likely in the range of 15m-20m but I can't tell you for sure because I'm not fortunate enough to own one or to have gotten something rare enough to sell for one. I will say this though, if you're a barb in Act 2, save it for yourself. You won't likely be replacing it until the xpac or if they buff another legendary shield with the buff patch coming with the PVP arena.

Thanks. I'm able to farm almost any combo in Act 2 with my super boring tanking build, so I think I could probably do it just fine with this. I'm so bored of A2 though, really hoping that 1.0.3 hits next week so things will be smoothed out more.

Thanks for the post, Gulaji. I tried this today and it's a lot of fun. My stats are similar, but I only run 30.5% crit with an Axe, but I can still make it work just fine as long as there are enough mobs for my tornadoes to hit. I do have one problem though: in Act 3 I find myself unable to kill some Elites before the super annoying rage timer starts to hit. Do you ever run into this?

posted a message on Need help on what to do next
Honestly, normal mobs in Act 3 are insane right now. I can't handle any Soul Lashers or any big mobs either. I don't have the greatest stats but I'm at 9.7k armor with Enchantress, 900-1000 resists, 12k DPS, 48k HP, 34% Block and 3k-4k blocked, 750 LoH, and I get tore up really hard. Act 2 isn't even a challenge anymore, but going into Act 3 is stupid at this point.

I took a Wizard buddy with me through Act 3 last night and we cleared it, which would have been impossible for me to do alone where I'm at stat-wise now. I'd recommend getting a ranged glass-cannon friend to come DPS while you try and distract mobs for him. With Ignore Pain (Iron Hide) and Leap Rune you can tank for 15 secs or so before being forced to kite. Other than that I'd wait for the next patch and see how things turn out.

On the bright side, if you do happen to make it to Act 4 you can probably farm the first boss. I did that solo for a while last night and sold some of the blues for a good amount.
