posted a message on Will you play seasons now there will no longer be season-only items?

as far as i understand it, there will still be 1 class set tied to the season...

Each class will get one guaranteed class Set for their Season
granted, that Statement is up to Interpretation :)

Akkhan's set first....but the question is not Akkhan's or weapon, ist acctually both :P

by the time i had 6 pieces i found 5 darklights and (Sadly only) 1 crappy fate of the fell + pretty much all other crusader weapons multiple times

without the set i managed to go up to t5, so it is possible...ever since i found the last two parts and a half ass decent soj i jumped to t6 and can do it much faster then t5 before ~_~ so the difference is huge

started of with a holy hammer build + Bombardement (the crit hit dmg law, justice, judgement and steed Charge), found a cindercoat, magefist and maxximus so i switched to a fire hammer build + bomardment (switched out justice with provoke)

this Combo offers huge burst dmg and even with crappy gear you can one hit a lot of stuff

    DAT FOTF! I need it!

I'm with ArosRS on this: Wait until 2.1, reroll socket to CDR and add a socket with Ramaladni's Gift.

To be honest, your weapon is the best Item you've got. It won't help you much to reroll anything on it. You need lots more eDPS, and you get that on other stuff.
dont wait. if you acctually get a gift (do not know the Chance of that yet) i wouldnt waste it for just vit (i know 1k vit is very nice, but there are better stats to roll for on a weapon)

    Hi guys,

I've just found my first Darklight and unfortunately it didn't roll socket with it.

It came with Strength, VItality and Life per Wrath spend.

Just wondering if you can help fellow crusader on this.

683 Vitality vs 308 Life per Wrath spend.

If I am keeping Vitality, my HP is around 392k and if I reroll Vitality my HP will be down to 319k

    Thanks
Re-roll wrath per spend - with 6 piece ahhkan and sufficient cooldown reduction 40% + you will rarely run out of wrath as long as you have cindercoat and reapers wrap which surely you will with darkligh since it's a fire build.
That logic makes no sense whatsoever, sry :o

Ist not wrath regen ist life per wrath spend, so ur Argument is "you will habe plenty of wrath and spend alot" which supports to Keep life per wrath since you will benefit from it a lot :)

it wouldn't make sense to exclude weapons from that rule....so yeah, it will probably Count towards the cap

more interesting would be whether +APS Counts towards the cap (in a sense, +aps is nothing more then atk Speed put in a different Container)

we have no idea about moster powers (hp, dmg etc.) yet.

So simply judging from skill changes yields nothing.

I think they are smart enought not to overdo it again this time. I also don't think they will nerf xp/hour
As for loot...we are getting loot 2.0 if all, it will be much much faster than every before until we acctually FIND updates for our chars

They just want to add more deepth to the gameplay rather then "aw sreew that puddle of posion, i just Keep Standing in and heal myself up"

    lower mps first.

    i found king/maghda very easy
    larder+raka easy/medium
but for kulle/siegbreaker i wa sa friggn two hit, nerv wrecking ^^ so i choose to go down one mp

once you know alle the mechincs you can probably also do it on the same mp but i would reccomend going lower

edit: or find someone to carry you through mp10

1 vs 1 it still would be viable. You can block most spells, even ae, and with proper gear nowadays you can go up to like 50-60% block Chance with ease? (of cause they might nerf block Chance over all)
so you can have all the fun talents while still putting out good dps.

leap, Charge, rend, hota, frenzy/Smash/cleave/throw + battle rage or some defensive skill
    plus you would be indestructable

I would proably go with weapon throw for those pescy Little fellas that always run away :P (of cause for effincency you could put sprint/Marathon in. but hey, i aint giving up my leap again...)

although the new hurricane rune might rock as well :) especially if Mobs still attack while beeing pulled towards you.... that would just be another Variation of the current build. run through all Mobs, collect a few, start hurricane non stop while sprinting through the Zone. Blocking will take care of resource Generation. damage might be a litte low but since you are invulnerable you can just drag them till the end of the Zone ^^

As much as I like Diablo to be very action packed, I don't think they meant to be that much, with WW Barbs.

After playing a bit more slowly in the console, it pains to me the PC version in its current state, with a group of 4 people just sprinting like mad and running around, not even caring about small skirmishes or single monsters/chests/etc.

In my very humble opinion, D3 could use "some" slowing down :)

totally agree ^^ ist not fun this way. so i am acctually looking Forward to the changes.
But i assume there will be a lot of whining if they don't compensate for that otherwise (if it leads to half the xp/hour that we have now for e.g. ist a huge penality)

they might tweak something with the apoc and / or crit stats in General. (maybe diminishing returns like with ls)

cause giving current stat allocation crit Chance and arcane power reg would go completly of Charts :)

so that might reduce the potential use of this playstyle.

Infinite resources create too many problems from a game design standpoint, and invalidates a huge part of combat design and balancing.

D3 Vanilla's first whole 1,5-2 years was ruled by infinite resources, and using those to fuel only the more powerful skills of the class. I don't want them to have to equalize every single skill cost and % damage just to solve the "infinite resource" problem, because that doesn't solve it, it just ignores it.

I sincerely hope they review that crappy gameplay experience instead of having us stuck in the same thing for the next 6+ years (for all I care, they could rebalance skills and change the metagame every couple months).

And yet the new sword and board Talent will take care of that :) 20 rage for every block is sort of infite resource with a high mob density.

The changes Overall (not only barb changes) will drastically slow down the pace of the game. If they compensate for that throught more xp / Gold per mob that might actually be a good Change. It also leaves more room to Play other specs then the most effective because everything else in put in relation.

And yes some new Features are really nice! But given the current state of the game barbs will Need more ehp to be playable on higher mp. now you can just whirl throught and be away. in the future you might Need to tank a Little bit. But who is to say they dont adapt other parts of the game to compensate for that :) with loot 2.0 you can probably have good dps AND ehp stats on most items and maybe Mobs aren't hitting that strong anymore.

I guess, my Basic Point ist. We cannot say how These changes will affect the barb at all because we don't know how they will adapt the rest of the game. I for one choose to be happy about all the new possibilities spec wise and believe it will leave us with more possibilities in the end.

@turtle: ah nice, that sounds very good acctually :) just one key away from my first machina ~_~

@zimira: thanks, i guess i will give it a try with hota just for key farming. Don't like ww thaaat much (more the cleave and smash kind of guy) but for paragon i will probably keep the ww for now, just so much more effective.
I guess i can switch some pieces around and get some more survivability in there.

    hey,

    thank you! much appreciated.

I agree with you that 100k ist just an arbetrary number, figured it would be roughly what i need to kill elites with one rend, thats were i pulled that number :)

boosting sounds great, thank you! thats what i wanted to find anyway once i get 3 machinas build.

So basically for hota. it is nice, but it won't let me farm mp5 for keys because my gear doesn't support it yet so i should stick to ww barb for the moment. Thats about right?

posted a message on 100k dps even possible on a tight budget?
    Hi all ^^

Since I have a million thoughts in my head right now - which i will vent later in this thread - let me start with my core question.

Is it even possible to achieve 100k dps unbuffed on a tight budget? If so how would you do it?

    As comparison:
I am sitting at 76k dps atm with this set / build
    http://eu.battle.net/d3/de/profile/Fare-2429/hero/688576
It is purely budget oriented set but it gets the job done on low mps (nothing else though) - spend way less then 10 mio on it
I will explain / justify my gear choices at the end of the thread :)
Let's just say I know what stats i should go for and what to aim for for every slot (stat and item/legendary wise) - they are just darn expansive :D
As for tight budget lets say around 10 mio (sitting at 1 mio atm, but i guess 10 can be done in two to four weeks)

I read a lot of threads in this forum and tested things in game to come up with my personal "progression path" so to speak.

Tried running higher mps, possible but time consuming.
tried running with 300 mf gear, possible, but takes way longer and while it yielded more drops / hour they still all sucked ass
So finally i decided it is probably best to lvl paragon and only pick up legendarys.

Latter is kind of the reason I am asking my question.
I can run mp0 smoothly (even mp1 can be done) but there are two thins bugging me.
    1. Elites: I can kill every trash mob just with my tornados so that is fine, but elites slow me down since i have to cycle. Thats why i switched charge/merciless with rend. First tried the 9xx% dmg rune, works great with killing most elites with one application of rend, but i can never hit all champions with one. So i switched to the higher radius. now i can get most of the elites, but i still have to cycle a little.
figured if i can crack 100k dps without dieing i can improove my time dramatically

    2. Still missing leorics and hellfire which annoys the crap out of me.
Tried farming for a leorics - since i can't afford one. (a2 normal, 300 mf, mp10) Found dozens of low lvl legendary but of course no leorics yet, so i guess i have to keep trying. Could really use that pick up radius :o

tried farming for a hellfire, but with the skorn i can only farm up to mp3 which is very ineffiecient (only found 4 keys so far). for higher mps i need to alter my build (more survivability) but then i am rage starved and need to switch to dw which drops my dps a lot, so no higher mps :) (not crying here, just ventig a little bit before i get back at it)
figured more dps might mitigate that problem a little bit (less incoming dmg more LL)

Thinking about a hota build for higher mps, any advice/experience you can share? Can i go higher mps with hota (lets say mp5)?

I tried different routes and i find myselfe most comfortable with arreat, keeps 2, rakis.
Quick run, decent xp, most action / smashing and you can easily add other areas to mix it up. Sitting at 40-50 mio / hour this way.

    Gear explanation:
I run with a skorn. I know of the discussion and pros and cons vs. dw so I don't want to go in that here :)
For me Skorn is a good budget choice to farm mp0 very fast. tornados and rend ticks are waaaaay better than with dw which works good on mp0. plus i can still maintain 100% sprint uptime with my build
chest: Well cheap run speed, decent str, good + dmg (at least cheaper than lacunis)
Ik pieces: well, when i started again i had this idea that the 5 piece would be awesome for survivability...
But it doesn't bothe rme much atm since the pices i have came cheap. (less than 100k for the belt, around 300k each for gloves and boots) Only the helm was expensive with 1.2 mio.
don't know which bracers show atm: i switched in lacunis (sucky stats) for the pick up radius to test something, usually i run with bracers 170 str, 4.5 crit and some vit/life (found both, lacunis and the others, so no cost here)

so yeah, thats it for now. appreciate your input a lot!
