I like how you make it out as their current hardware, setup, network and what ever involves around gaming servers of this scale, is a complete joke.

It doesn't matter how much money or time they've spent on their current setup, it's obviously not sufficient to get the job done without excessive lag. Their setup, their time, their efforts.... that's all on them. The end result is what we see, and what I see is huge amounts of lag and rubberbanding every time I play... and only on Diablo 3. Every other online game I play (including WoW) I get minimal latency and no noticeable lag spikes. The other day my wife participated in the stress test of the Guild Wars 2 servers, and she only saw 2 lag spikes over the course of the entire test... the rest of the time her latency stayed below 200, and was usually below 100. But she hops on D3 and all of a sudden her latency ranges anywhere from 150 to 900. So honestly, I don't know exactly what kind of a setup they have, but I can say that it's obviously not good enough.

And no, I don't have an answer for how they can fix it. I don't work for them. I also don't know how to repair plumbing, but I would certainly be able to tell that something was wrong if my toilet flooded everytime it was flushed. You don't need to know the answer to be able to recognize that there is a problem.

When I read ignorant rants like that I feel like I just called up Comcast tech support and they're telling me my router is broken before they've even done any diagnostics.

GUILD WARS WORKS SO LAG HAS TO BE BLIZZARD.

Sorry, bub, that's not how the internet works. There are other possibilities beyond "Blizzard sucks" even though I know that's really hard to get through someone's head who just wants to tell us how awful Blizzard is.
What isn't ignorant or rant about your post? Please tell us how the internet works oh wise one ... if one program has an issue that no other program has where does the problem most likely reside? Battlefield 3: Works fine Borderlands: Works fine FireFall: Works fine FFXI: Works fine Blacklight Retribution: Works fine Crysis 2: Works fine Diablo 2: Works fine Command & Conquer Red Alert: Works fine - - - Diablo 3: Doesn't Work fine ... I am simply tired of blizzard not addressing this issue as it has been brought up multiple times, and if all i wanted was to tell people how awful blizzard is it would be a lot easier then asking for the game to be fixed so I can enjoy it, all I need do is link the plethera of bad comments from various forums. I have a legitimate complaint, your comment is irrelevant because it has no backing, no structure, nothing supporting it other than your attack, maybe if you could post something to back up why and how the internet works and his specific computer works well on GW2 but not Diablo I could then see myself willing to give your opinion any weight, but the fact that you even call Comcast support to begin with makes me doubt your ability to educate us as to why some games work (all but d3) and not others ??? Here's a hint, it has to do with ports ... usually a good place to start anyway ... updated your firmware lately ?

Good gear that is bound to account but can be sold to NPCs only to circumvent the AH ... lets face it, Blizzard LIED to us during the beta testing, they want the game to be AH dependent to make more money ... problem with that equation is the human factor, we get sick of tedious BS fast ... and at this point no expansion can make the game as it is worth playing ... the lag and loot scales are so bad that more time is spent perusing the AH for gear than actually playing ...

Done appealing to Blizzard, honestly I have yet to see Blizzard do anything that makes the game worth playing. The focus has been to make it HARDER to play to meet the upper managements requirement of projected real money auction house profits. I am not the only complaining about connection issues, so it would be reasonable to assume that the issue is SERVER SIDE not at the ISP or my network ... Either Blizzard is having coding or hardware issues, but the point remain the same, the fault lies with BLIZZARD, tired of people insulting me for my opinion, that is based in FACT, from the experiences of others as well as my own experiences with lag, horrible gear scaling (obviously designed to force the use of the AH to progress @ rate to prevent being completely bored with the limited content), lack of offline/LAN/single player game play, progressively adjusting character abilities in a negative fashion, the game is nowhere nearly as playable as Diablo 2, the limitation in gameplay as well as the lack of the dark diablo feel only draw further away from the game, if there is anything that is a complete joke is my hopes for a fix that makes this game fun, if the RMAH is optional and the GAH optional why are the loot drops so horrible? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Blizzard needs to spend some $ on new servers, a better ISP backbone and maybe some QoS software, this lag BS is making the game unplayable ...

Blizzard has failed to maintain a playable connection, My character rubberbands randomly, not always when the game connection is being stressed by a mass of mobs, I am so frustrated with Blizzards inability to to provide adequate customer care ... It's not like they lost their shirts on the sales of D3, they should have enough $ to make this game work RIGHT ...

My point is that they worried about something that doesn't mean as much as the game being fully functional on release. Did they use beta to see if people liked the game or to see if the game worked as close to "functional" as possible? I know that optimally, both should be achieved or should at least be the goal, but were either of them even near achieved?

What part of the game isn't functional? Out of the box, the game works. It may not be what people were hoping for, but from a functionality standpoint, it seems just fine. Being a Software Test Engineer, things like this peak my interests.
You haven't noticed the hits killing you from 90 yards away? You haven't noticed the animation lag, you haven't noticed the level 50-58 item drops in Inferno, where you can't even possibly need gear that low a level? The scaling is swayed to support the AH, instead of making a fun game that people want to play and farm gear, they made it more like work, tedious tasks that have little reward because you're working for someone else's profit... The replay-ability of Diablo 3 is next to zero, half of what made Diablo 2 fun was being able to play it BACKWARDS, go to any point and run in any direction, no limits, and the gear, it was all good, you could actually kill with white gear and not get killed in ONE shot ... so the only thing that really changed (other than a majority of the real development staff jumping off a sinking ship) was the AH, and the need to feed the greed of a new corporate slave master ... This game sucks, Torchlight 2 is going to be what this game should have been. Twenty+ hours into playing Torchlight 1 and I see so very many similarities to Diablo 3, things that look stolen from Torchlight and slightly modified for Diablo 3, all of course to suit the RMAH, which in itself sucks because of how limited the search features, and the sorting features, and the functionality of the entire AH sytem to begin with, the # of complaints warrants an investigation into wire fraud ... BROKEN is BROKEN, fix it or start dishing out refunds ....

posted a message on No Longer a Fan
I am no longer a fan of Blizzard, since patch 1.0.3 and the rampant mistakes the patch has, over and above the "bugged" equipment stats (yeah as if that wasn't done to sway AH prices), instead of dealing with poorly timed animations causing rubberband death, laggy servers and super crappy loot drops the development team is busy banning people from the forums that disagree with the brown-nosers who are DIRECTLY insulting those of us that are frustrated. Maybe Blizzard needs a third party to come in and FIX their game for them, it's become obvious all they are concerned with is whether or not the RMAH makes $. The real reason die hard diablo fans didn't get a real diablo 3 is simple, the team that actually put it together and made it great all left when a French company took it over and changed the corporate agenda, to pure profit, no fun for you, we decide whats fun, aren't you thankful?
