posted a message on NV Feedback given during beta.... u joking?
    Quote from Noladrew

    2) Valor buff. Diablo 3 was advertised as having a wide variety of skills that can be swapped in and out at any time, even in battle (with a small delay for use). This allowed greater variety in the abilities that champion mobs could have and provide greater challenges for the player. You also then provided a Valor buff that is supposed to encourage players to kill more champion packs. But oddly you choose to have the valor buffs be removed if the player changes their skills (or even moves a skill on the hot bar from one position to another). This goes against the entire design of the buff and the goal of having players kill as many champion packs as possible, Why was this decision made and with what logic?
This was actually a decision we made based off player feedback. On the one hand, there's a lot of enjoyment in being able to swap your skills at will and tailor your builds to the environment around you. On the other, there’s also gameplay to finding a build that really works for you in a variety of situations.

During beta, we received a lot of feedback from players who wanted to be able to swap skills any time. We also had a large number of players who wanted to have a sense of their characters "build," or some sort of build identity -- especially at later levels. We understood both points of view, so with Nephalem Valor you can still swap a skill out at any time, but there is a penalty for doing so (i.e. losing your stack).

As sort of an aside, we know that it can be SUPER frustrating for players who use Elective Mode to lose an NV stack due to a poorly-placed click near your Skill bar. Because of this, we're looking to add an action bar lock for Elective Mode in an upcoming patch.

During beta you received a lot of feedback? Last I checked, beta lasted what felt like 20 minutes. How much feedback could people give on NV stacks during beta? This a completely absurd statement to anyone else? My gripe is that they are saying that beta feedback resulted in the decision. Shouldn't beta have also given them insight on major problems to fix before retail release?

Yeah.... I dunno how they could get feedback related to NV buff from a Beta where the best you could do was to hit lvl 13 and kill Leoric. That statement amazed me as well but I let it slide. I will assume there was a beta for employess and F&F that went through the whole game and that's where they got the feedback. But either way, I completely agree with how NV works as it stands right now (1.0.3). I hope they leave it as is with the exception of maybe increasing the GF portion of it a little bit.

Also, the second thing you said about beta giving them insight on the major problems prior to release is more than a bit foolish on your part. Not at any point during the beta, even the stress test, did their servers get the load they got on release day. I doubt they even got 1/10th the load during the stress test that they got on release day. That being said, they had no ideas how hard the servers were going to crash since they had not been capable of experience that load volume prior to release.

    I'm sad :(

What kind of stats do I want to be looking for? I had no idea it would make that big of a difference.

Flat damage on your weapons is always your number one concern. Then your dexterity (for DH and M) will increase your weapon damage by 1% per 1 point of dex. Then IAS will further increase your DPS by making you attack more times per second. Although, IMO, IAS is worthless if you are constantly running around kiting. IAS is great for spots where you can stand and spam, but its pointless when kiting a lot as you are generally doing in D3 later difficulties.

posted a message on MF gear seems to be pointless in A2
This is a known issues, it seems like there is some kind of DR on MF past A1. That's why a lot of people are tellign Blizzard its pointless to farm anything but A1.

I wish Blizz would remove their head from their ass and just use the D2 methods that are tried and true for this shit. I am personally sick of their constant changes to MF and item drops and gold drops at this point. The IAS nerf still has me a little upset, but now its getting a bit ridiculous.

That would be true, if there was no basis for calling this childish. This definitely meets the definition though. There's not anything else to honestly call this.
There are plenty of other things to call this beyond "childish" - Enraged, upset, delusional regarding value of an item, impulsive, not called for, stupid, destructive - the list goes on. To actually base that this has anything to do with childish is kind of.. uncalled for actually.
As very few facts of what can be seen, is even remotely related to the mind of a child, more then someone who could be of any age and relate to a lot of different factors then just simply "child".

I would rate "childish" as a light insult compared to "delusional regarding the value of an item." People generally learn as they grow up, not to do useless things like venting your anger through destroying inanimate objects. Especially over something as inconsequential as a video game. In my opinion, that is very imamture. Immaturity equates to childishness. You are entitled to your own opinion, but don't waste time trying to devalue mine.
what he was trying to say in a polite way is that obviously your opinions should not be taken seriously.

Why not take it seriously? The OP is obviously extremely childish with sever anger management problems. I think the phrase "raging man-child" fits the OP perfectly. I mean, for you to get that upset at a video game to destroy its physical manifestation as he did you have to have some pretty serious deep seated mental problems. And then to post pictures of it on the internet as if he is proud of it is just another level to his problems. I find him quite pathetic and I think he needs to find a vagina (that doesn't belong to a family member) to play with.

    Quote from Jack00

I'm sick and tired of farming act 1 for shitty loot. I try to go in act 2 but I get the shit kicked out of me. I do better since the difficulty has been reduced, but i still die dozens of time and now it costs me around 25k every 30 minutes to repair my shit. HOW THE FUCK DO THEY WANT US TO PROGRESS IF WE CAN'T EARN GOLD AND IF THE GEAR WE NEED ONLY DROPS 2 ACTS LATER ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I wish I could post all my stuff for you to see what i'm dealing with. While it's not the best stuff around, i think it's alright, makes me handle act 1 with ease. But forget about act 2, and I don't even want to think about what kind of gear you need for act 3-4.
I play smart, i evade and dodge (or at least try to with the shitty hit detection that we got in this game) I use spells that will slow enemies, hex them (im a WD) and try to have a good combo of dps and support spells, all that to say that I don't think it's because I suck at microying that i'm doing so poorly in act 2. I have 32k life, 3.6k amor and 300 res and 19k DPS.
I am this close on dropping this game. Can't find the gear i need to progress, don't have the gold to buy the 30,000,000 gold items on AH, this just sux right now. Looks like 10 years is not enough to make a game, way to go fucking blizzard...

So because you are either a poor player, have poor internet, or are too stupid to properly gear your character you are having less fun? Sounds about right. Your a WD in Inferno with 19k damage trying to do A2, that speaks volumes.

    Quote from SolTheDruid

I don't understand why IAS gear becoming crap turned out to be such a surprise for so many people. It was clearly stated in the Blizzard's designer blog weeks ago. Then there was a datamining summary report that clearly stated that ALL IAS gear (except quivers) will be nerfed by 50-55%. I mean, you don't need to be Einstein to figure out it's time to sell IAS stuff, when you see a huge red "!!! You gonna lose shit tons of DPS due to IAS nerf in 1.0.3 !!! Get rid of IAS !!! Stay away from IAS !!!" sign.

I personally sold all my IAS gear last weekend. It wasn't hard. I didn't even have to lower the prices on my items. Quite opposite, actually - got like 8 millions for 5 pieces of my mediocre gear without too much effort and now can invest into something else. Will probably end up with the same DPS I had pre-patch, or higher.

Every single one of you guys, reading these forums, could avoid being screwed by this nerf. Or even benefit from it. If you didn't, it's totally your own fault.

Well, IAS is not crap that should be stayed away from. It is still the best DPS increase in the game as it was prior to the nerf. There is just less of it per item. Selling it all I think was a massive mistake on your part and you nerfed your DPS tremendously for no reason at all.

Although, I agree with you that the "price" on the items has dropped and it is less cost efficient than it previously was. Though it is still the top DPS increase in the game.

Yea, yea. Well some of us actually have real jobs and don't dedicate our lives to video games... So when I do play, I don't wanna waste time on the respawn screen. And I understand I didn't pay Blizzard for the item and they only got a % cut from it. The fact is items that are bought with real currency need to retain stat value. And to Mr. HoobaGoblin and Slayerviper - I did read forums bud. Never did I see a 50% nerf announced. I was expecting more of a cap/deminishing returns on % attack speed. Regardless if it was a $250 item or a 10$ item, item changes should have been performed WAY before any real money auctions were implimented.

and a cap / diminishing returns would have equated out to the same loss. gg

So you're saying I get just as much life on hit when I attack slower...k next

Thats not at all what I said. Maybe if you stopped raging and actually read what was said it would get through your thick skull.

ALL IAS WAS NERFED BY 50%. Your formerly 15% IAS item is now 7% like every single other 15% IAS item in the fucking game. Therefore it is still as powerful as it was when compared to every other IAS item in the game. Do you get back as much health from life on hit? No. But is the item worse than other IAS items? No. You still need IAS to reap as much benefit from LoH as you can get so it still serves its fucking purpose. I don't know how to more clearly say it. Dry the tears from your eyes and actually read what people say.

qft, just look at the name he picked. The guy has to be laughing his ass off at the number of replies he's getting.

If he's a troll, it's quite an interesting point he's raised, intentionally or unintentionally.

A $250 item always has the potential to become heavily devalued by nerfs. Due dilligence is king I guess.

Unfortunately, no I am not trolling like all these children are quick to claim. But thank you for being apart of the bigger picture of my post. It's obvious I am not going to be refunded. It's a tough lesson learned, but well worth addressing when it provokes constructive thinking.

Sad thing is that its not a lesson you should have "learned" it is simply common sense. Items and stats in videogames, especially MMOs are ever changing. Why on earth would you think Diablo 3 would be any different is beyond me.

Edit: and this is me just now realizing that these forums don't automatically compress multiple posts in a row into a single post. My bad, I know better for next time. Sorry guys for what looks like spam.

I would not spend a whole lot on RMAH right now for a lot of reasons. You said its a set item. In 1.1, they are patching all legendaries including sets, and teh changes do not effect existing items, so any legendary purchased now will be one of the weakest of its kind in a few weeks.

Plus, the economy is new, and the number of people sucessfully farming act 2-4 areas are low. As they get time to farm more items, and more people become able to farm, items will become more readily available and prices will drop.

Also, after this patch, high ilvl items can fall in act 1 and even late hell locations. That's going to open high level item farming to more people too.

This game is early in its lifecycle, and the economy is new. Buying high priced items is a very bad idea right now, and buyers excepting those prices make it possible for sellers to continue charging those prices. Wish people would realize that the game's longevity is limited, that games systems are new, and changes will probably effect gearing decisions for several months, that the available item pool is growing, and stop accepting these prices.

I viable high end item should be 10$ or so, and a near perfect one should be worth something like 30$. Stop saying yes to overpriced sellers.

Your right. And I agree with people saying yea it probably was not a good choice. It was a poor impulsive buy. For those who do not understand (and it is clear that there are many) the reasoning behind buying an item at such a high price, it is to be able to make that money back in the future. Being able to farm act 3-4 puts you at a great advantage. More chance to get better gear means sooner or later those % should show. The purchase was an investment in the game with high hopes that I could make it back.

And the nerf to IAS on it still makes it as good as it was. You still want IAS and 7% is still close to the best you can get on an ammy. Sooooooooo.... your ability to farm act 3 & 4 really wasn't hurt as bad as you are making it sound with all your crying.

Putting that aside, as you actually seem to have a lot higher income than 99,999% of the playerbase, you are now saying that after the RMAH is live, Blizzard can never ever tune the game anymore? If your item would have become more powerful, would you be willing to give the buyer more money as your item would be better? And if Blizzard would have nerfed those stats let's say after a year when you bought it, would it be satisfactory to you?

My point is that no one can say the exact good time for those tunings that Blizzard has to do to this game. There is allways someone that loses and someone who wins, this time it was you.

Blizzard can tune the game in many other ways than changing stats on current items. How about changing the effectiveness? or capping quantity? And you said what if the item became more powerful. When has Blizzard ever (so far) buffed anything that has significantly helped us out? Second of all, $250 is capped....

And again, that would have equated out to the same thing. Are you trolling bro? You can't be this stupid.
