Just don't use it if you don't want too? At least that's a feasible option now that ilvl 63 loot drops off Acts I and II.

Regarding the updated damage, Blizz quoted it as

    Act II = 33% reduction
Act III and IV = 44% reduction

Interestingly though they've thrown a few enrage timers in now, i doubt i could beat Belial with his new 3min enrage in my survival gear/skill set. I've used to just bludgeoning him slowly to death.

Yeah I just barely beat Belial with my highly defensive build before he enraged. I think I had 10 seconds left when he fell. First try he did enrage and let me tell you... you don't want him to enrage.

And I'm dual wield build so it's not like I had a sword and board... if I did he would have enraged easily.

I think for the next couple weeks.. high DPS weapons will be priced higher than normal until the inferno barbs are all geared up. I know personally I'm saving up for a 900+ dps weapon. These 750/785 dps swords I have just are not cutting it.

    Quote from jth

Basically everyone in a Party .. including Followers - if you have one - has the same MF/GF. 20% (?) of the followers items with MF and GF is added to the total.

I thought GF/MF is averaged in for all party members. Meaning if one person has 400 MF and the other three have zero, everyone has 100 MF.

Which is the reason for the people selling inferno pony runs requiring you to have 200 base MF.. so they can load up on dps/survival gear and still get the massive drops while charging you an arm and a leg.

posted a message on HP needed for act 2 and act 3 - Inferno
I'm currently limping my way through Act 2. Can't really do it solo since mobs hit so hard so I'm finding public games with heavy dps to help out.

I'm thinking the best (and cheapest) way for me to stay alive with to raise my HP thus Revenge will keep my alive.

I'm at 46k HP right now and have a little more room to grow with a few AH purchases. I'm using dual weapons (700 dps 190 loh and 1000 life on kill, and a 740 dps with 250 strength and 105 vit) but my next purchase will be a shield with a lot of vit plus life %. My resists now are all around the 700 range with buffs. Armor right about 70% mitigation after buffs. Right around 16000 dps during frenzy.

Should I keep stacking HP? This will avoid getting one shot to death and help revenge heal me back up faster. I grouped with another barb while doing butcher runs who had 80k HP and it looked like he wasn't even taking damage as his revenge brought him back up to full on every pack we faced. Of course butcher runs are fairly easy for even me and dual wielding but there are sometimes I drop low and my screen flashes.

Second question. When I buy my shield.. which weapon should I get rid of? the 705 dps 100 strength, 100 vit, 190 LOH and 1000 life on kill..... or the 740 dps with 250 strength and 105 vit?

My wife found a 1.190 running butcher, i thought items of that lvl couldn't drop from there, guess i was wrong.

been farming butcher for a week straight. maybe 40 or so kills with 5 stacks of valor each time. Never seen a 1hand over 550 dps and a 2hand over 650 dps :(

Hell change it to 5. There are times like right now I want to find strength, vit, all resist, magic find, pickup radius gear. Sure only a few pieces might show up but it will save me time searching through hundreds of auctions.

posted a message on I really wish that they would make servers that didn't have an RMAH.
We either pay a monthly fee like in Warcraft....

or they get their money from the RMAH.

Server uptime isn't free. Bandwidth isn't free either. Electricity to run those servers isn't free. Blizzard made a shitload from selling the game but to keep the game going for five or ten years when hardly anyone buys it anymore, they need a steady source of income.

Well i'm farming in act 3 doin siegebreaker runs and prob pulling in around 2mil/hour... Sometimes less sometimes more due to RNG but it evens out, ofcourse I am not a melee but theres plenty of vids out there of monks/barbs doin siege runs and no there not wearing 100 million gold worth of gear, there doing it fairly cheaply.

I dont think anyone is using 100 million worth of gear. But you do need to spend millions on the AH to get past Act 2 as a Barb and then double that to even try Act 3.

So yes to get to where you're at you first need to farm act 1 which for me on my Barb, doing butcher runs only net me maybe 100k every 30-45 minutes.. and that's if I vendor all the blues. Because it's rare for me to get something AH worthy from doing butcher runs so I can't count on that.

I'm also playing barb and currently trying to progress in Act 2 inferno. My advice is to not go solo. Join a public game and hope you get a few range classes in with you that stacked DPS. It's going slow and I have to leave a couple games due to overpowered elite packs but I'm slowly progressing through it.

I'm far away from it being on farm status. But I've been told Act 3 ramps up just as much as Act 2 did so once I can solo Act 2, I'll be in the same spot again trying to progress through Act 3.

Inferno was made for hardcore progress. Honestly I think they doubled the damage output on each act and that was it to try and stop you from beating the game. The first people who beat the game who didn't have the AH to fall back on honestly exploited to to do it. There's no way they could not exploit that crap.

posted a message on Warden + Butcher or Belial?
I can solo butcher runs fairly easy right now and get five stacks plus extra elite packs on the way to butcher with no problems. But act 2 I can't even get past the first elite pack without racking up a 10k repair bill.

Just get some MF gear and do whatever is faster for you. I'm slowly building my MF gear up to where butcher dropped 6 rares and 12 blues. But I got lucky I think on that one.

Yeah people push those item links out. I saw one the other day for a 2handed sword. Clicked it and didn't disconnect but the sword that came up was something way too powerful to be in the game. Something like 15000 dps.

I use the scoundrel for my dps follower. I took all the dps talents with him

I use the enchantress for my crowd control follower. Trained every CC ability with her.

I use the templar for my tank/healing follower. Trained the tanky stuff and the "oh crap" talents for when I'm in trouble.

I tend to use the scoundrel the most because I just found a nice xbow for him. The only thing I hate though is when we come up to a treasure goblin, I like to get on the other side of him first so he runs to places where I already cleared. Well the scoundrel doesn't see things my way and goes ahead and shoots him before I have a chance to get ready.

posted a message on Just Started Inferno, How's my gear?
I used that build for a bit and found that I didn't really need Furious Charge. I used it but didn't really need it. If I was in a situation where I needed to gain health or die, it would save me for a second or two but I'd still die.

With that build there's no rage attacks. I went with earthquake and so far I like it. I will group up lots of non-elites or elites and drop the earthquake for extra damage while using my cooldowns to stay alive. Right now i'm farming the skele king so I'm not that far into inferno yet. I realize act 2 is a big gear check and you and I both need better gear.
