When you take away the ability to trade effectively, you need to compensate for it. I feel they are trying to do just that.
I think if all they did was remove the auction house but left everything else the same (ability to trade legends and gold), we would never see the above changes.

THEY ARE GOING TO EXPLODE WITH ACTIVITY!
Think of the web traffic they are going to get once this change happens? Ad revenue is going to shoot through the roof.
Blizzard just let the website owners make a lot more money. -

"regenerate 4% of your maximum Life per second for 60 seconds"
"ou gain 2% of your maximum Life per second."
Thats the balance? Barb heals double the amount and everybody?
You're mixing barb with demonhunter with that 2% max life per second.
Barb gives 4% life regen to entire party which is very balanced since it affects everyone
Barb also gets 620 life per second that's shared too.
But to get both buffs, barbs are giving up a lot of staple buffs, like the 20% resistance to entire party... and a damage passive.
Since it affects the entire party and not just the barb, I consider that balanced well enough. -
Sep 21, 2012Bodycount1 posted a message on Patch 1.0.5 PTR Patch Notes - 1.0.5 Coming to the PTRThey just devalued magic find on gear again. First time was with paragon levels. Second time is with this new change to later acts dropping more properties.Posted in: News
Why even have magic find on gear anymore?
I'm only paragon 19 but I have max magic find from my gear farming act 3. I gave up some HP and damage for it. Looks like I'll have to regear again. Most likely something they want and expecting people to do to use the RMAH so they get more money. -

Let me tell you what will happen with barbs guys;
Barbs will drop warcry all together, and get an other fancy ass skill. The 20% Armor buff will be easilly negated by the inferno damage nerf.
That leaves the 20% all resistance. But heres the thing. Most barbs run around with 500-600 all res unbuffed. That means they need to gather ~100-120 all res to get on the same level that warcry would. This is a mere 2 items with all res!
In other words, gather up those random rolled all res items! (lacuni prowlers with str / all res for example)
I already increased my Resist All yesterday by 80 because I knew Resist All items are going to go up in price soon.
Now i'm at 1000 with current war cry buff. Should drop down to 600-700 without it. That's enough to do inferno after the 1.0.5 nerfs. Especially if you have room to pick up Superstition passive.. WW barbs could offtank on the side then. -

They can make it easier and easier to obtain loot; but until the loot is interesting to obtain, what's the point?
The easier loot is to get, the more useless the AH becomes. Soon instead of vendoring 95% of all drops, you will vendor 99.9% of all drops meaning have fun trying to make gold. The people will billions of gold right now will be the 1% and have all the power in this game. -
Sep 14, 2012Bodycount1 posted a message on Dev Journal: Defensive Bonuses and Monster DamageEvery class has some sort of resistance buff right? Barb it's war cry and it's being nerfed. OWE is the monk one and it has to be nerfed as well. Only problem is it ties into gear choices where as war cry doesn't.Posted in: News
So it's gotta be nerfed to be fair. My guess it that they will make it not double stack anymore. Meaning if you have a single resist and a resist all, you wont be able to add them together. It will pick the larger of the two and ignore the smaller value. That's the only way I can see it nerfed without hurting current gear choices. -
Sep 14, 2012Bodycount1 posted a message on Dev Journal: Defensive Bonuses and Monster DamageIf I take the same damage now with War Cry: Impunity as I do in 1.0.5 without that buff, then I'll be happy. Sure in public games they wont like me since I won't provide the buff but I'll get to pick something else to help out.Posted in: News
Looks like I need to invest in more resist all now before prices go up again.
And I don't use Leap in my current WW build... but when I did use leap, I mainly used it as another shield cooldown like they mentioned they dont want us to use it as. It's the only good reason to take Leap besides jumping for shortcuts. They should lower the cooldown to 6 seconds if they lower the armor buff to 3 seconds. -

Yeah I just barely beat Belial with my highly defensive build before he enraged. I think I had 10 seconds left when he fell. First try he did enrage and let me tell you... you don't want him to enrage.
And I'm dual wield build so it's not like I had a sword and board... if I did he would have enraged easily.
I think for the next couple weeks.. high DPS weapons will be priced higher than normal until the inferno barbs are all geared up. I know personally I'm saving up for a 900+ dps weapon. These 750/785 dps swords I have just are not cutting it.

I thought GF/MF is averaged in for all party members. Meaning if one person has 400 MF and the other three have zero, everyone has 100 MF.
Which is the reason for the people selling inferno pony runs requiring you to have 200 base MF.. so they can load up on dps/survival gear and still get the massive drops while charging you an arm and a leg.

I'm thinking the best (and cheapest) way for me to stay alive with to raise my HP thus Revenge will keep my alive.
I'm at 46k HP right now and have a little more room to grow with a few AH purchases. I'm using dual weapons (700 dps 190 loh and 1000 life on kill, and a 740 dps with 250 strength and 105 vit) but my next purchase will be a shield with a lot of vit plus life %. My resists now are all around the 700 range with buffs. Armor right about 70% mitigation after buffs. Right around 16000 dps during frenzy.
Should I keep stacking HP? This will avoid getting one shot to death and help revenge heal me back up faster. I grouped with another barb while doing butcher runs who had 80k HP and it looked like he wasn't even taking damage as his revenge brought him back up to full on every pack we faced. Of course butcher runs are fairly easy for even me and dual wielding but there are sometimes I drop low and my screen flashes.
Second question. When I buy my shield.. which weapon should I get rid of? the 705 dps 100 strength, 100 vit, 190 LOH and 1000 life on kill..... or the 740 dps with 250 strength and 105 vit?

been farming butcher for a week straight. maybe 40 or so kills with 5 stacks of valor each time. Never seen a 1hand over 550 dps and a 2hand over 650 dps

or they get their money from the RMAH.
Server uptime isn't free. Bandwidth isn't free either. Electricity to run those servers isn't free. Blizzard made a shitload from selling the game but to keep the game going for five or ten years when hardly anyone buys it anymore, they need a steady source of income.

I dont think anyone is using 100 million worth of gear. But you do need to spend millions on the AH to get past Act 2 as a Barb and then double that to even try Act 3.
So yes to get to where you're at you first need to farm act 1 which for me on my Barb, doing butcher runs only net me maybe 100k every 30-45 minutes.. and that's if I vendor all the blues. Because it's rare for me to get something AH worthy from doing butcher runs so I can't count on that.

I'm far away from it being on farm status. But I've been told Act 3 ramps up just as much as Act 2 did so once I can solo Act 2, I'll be in the same spot again trying to progress through Act 3.
Inferno was made for hardcore progress. Honestly I think they doubled the damage output on each act and that was it to try and stop you from beating the game. The first people who beat the game who didn't have the AH to fall back on honestly exploited to to do it. There's no way they could not exploit that crap.

Just get some MF gear and do whatever is faster for you. I'm slowly building my MF gear up to where butcher dropped 6 rares and 12 blues. But I got lucky I think on that one.

I use the enchantress for my crowd control follower. Trained every CC ability with her.
I use the templar for my tank/healing follower. Trained the tanky stuff and the "oh crap" talents for when I'm in trouble.
I tend to use the scoundrel the most because I just found a nice xbow for him. The only thing I hate though is when we come up to a treasure goblin, I like to get on the other side of him first so he runs to places where I already cleared. Well the scoundrel doesn't see things my way and goes ahead and shoots him before I have a chance to get ready.

With that build there's no rage attacks. I went with earthquake and so far I like it. I will group up lots of non-elites or elites and drop the earthquake for extra damage while using my cooldowns to stay alive. Right now i'm farming the skele king so I'm not that far into inferno yet. I realize act 2 is a big gear check and you and I both need better gear.
