Furnace has a higher damage range than Maximus. Any 2-handed mace has a higher damage range than any 2-handed sword. The same is true for the 1-handers.

Maximus is usable if you exploit the fire chains' damage. If you want the best weapon for the FB's dot, a 2-handed mace is the best choice. And Furnace is the best 2-handed mace.
Thanks. I'll just keep my fingers crossed for a furnace :)

Thanks for the info, you guys have way better gear than me, that explains a lot of the tick difference.

Btw, just getting back to my sorc, I've always wondered : is there a maximum distance between the mob and you for the dot to tick, or does it go on forever even if you're on the other side of the map, or even in town?

    Hey guys,

With my Woh and very average gear, it goes up to 34M. I've tried it with a 3750 dps unsocketed Maximus (currently equipped on my profile), just to check whether it was worth a gift, and it only went up to 44M. I thought it would go way higher with a 2-hander, so I'm a little surprised.

How high does your FB dot tick? And do you think that Maximus is worth a gift?

That's a step in the right direction, and I think keys should be 100% in T6 too.

The real problem remains that you still need to roll a good amulet. I only crafted 10 of those for a single char since 2.1 started, none of which were good (and most were plain terrible), but I'm almost out of souls.

I know there are people out there with souls by the thousands, but that's definitely not the case for more casual players like me (around paragon 450 and playing multiples classes, which means I tend to burn through souls for reforging).

Blizther, please see this post on the official forums to see the breakpoints and how they impact the number of attacks your sentries do. Incidentally, there is currently no 1.84 BP, it's either 1.74 or 2.84.

Also, as I said, I don't have a Tasker yet, and my Krider is 2.2k dps. Obviously, I'd like to have a perfect Krider or Etrayu, but I've never had a decent roll for either of those, so saying I should get one doesn't really help me make the best of what I do have.

Lastly, I haven't played all that much since 2.1 came out, and I already got 2 gifts. Of course, RNG is RNG, but I seem to have an easier time finding gifts than good weapons, so I'm not gonna let it rot in my stash too long :)

You can not get elemental bonus from rings or amulet because ideally you will sacrifice those for a legendary gem socket. So you are left with bracer, Etrayu bow, and (if you can manage without the bombardier's rucksack) the quiver with elemental bonus as options.

"xbows hit harder " is history, because bow's weapon speed will help you maintain higher sentry BP which you will need for running with 3 spenders, without having to prioritize AS on gear as much as you would have to on xbow.
My gear is far from ideal :)
In particular, since I don't have TnT yet (after Diablo only knows how many thousands of shards), I can't reach high BPs, not even with a bow. Right now, I get to choose between 1.46 BP with a xbow and 1.74 with a bow, which means I'd only gain 12 EA/30 secs with the bow, probably not worth it.

Well, after rerolling to +%dps, my windforce is around 2875 dps, whereas my manticore is slightly below 2600. Of course, the damage range on the xbow is more interesting, and the %ias on the windforce means little if I can't reach a breakpoint.

At this stage, w/o TNT, I can only hit the 1.46 BP with a xbow, and I can only reach 2.03 with a bow, too low for the next BP.

Damn, back to farming it is, then ... I might still try the WF if I get a TnT to see how the 2.84 BP plays out.

Also, I've tried out the Buriza with Depth Diggers running Devouring Arrow+MS+CA. I enjoy the more active gameplay and DA does very good single-target damage (upwards of 15M for later pierces with a 2.4k dps xbow), but I can't keep the mobs slowed enough, and with my gear, it's not viable past GR 28, too much standing around (for the record, I haven't beaten GR33 yet, so YMMV).

Hey, got a new question. I've got these 2 weapons, both of them unmodified. I'm thinking of using a gift on the windforce once I (finally) get a Tasker, since it has the potential to be 2.9k dps, but the Wohjanni Assaulter is also a very good roll, and one that'd keep some toughness. What do you think?

Yep, though the advantage is minimal, so it burns down to whatever you managed to get your hands on :)

The system doesn't have to ban people. Its enough to raise some red flags so they can have a look at it and act.
Which is precisely what I said, but not quite what the previous poster was suggesting :)

That's what i've been told for months from other people, so still i have no idea why would Buriza be better than any other xbow?
Personally i believe that the only BIS xbow is the pre 2.1 Manticore with 1450+ dmg 10% dmg 33% crit chance 700+ dex and socket from Gift.
I think any high dps xbow would be fine. Unless you're playing with Devouring Arrow, I dont see Buriza having any specific advantage, since sentries have 0% chance to proc the freeze.

I'm still curious about the Buriza/Depth Diggers combination with DA, though. Gonna try that this evening.

They should do like how the Tour de france is handle:

Each bike have a chip that record the delivery power. If the power value exceed a specific threshold the runner is suspected to doping. It's been like that because humane body has its limits.
And we all know how well that worked out for them ... a new scandal every year :)

More seriously, automatic banning systems like the one you're suggesting are unreliable and dangerous. What they can and should do is use the same kind of monitoring and simply flag an account if the xp/hour seems unreasonable, so that they can actually investigate what's going on.
