posted a message on Please Blizzard, take seasons seriously.

There were people with full class sets and ancient weapons clearing GR 50+ after like 48 hours of the new season.

If you are not there yet, you do not invest enugh time to be competitive. Still blaming the "ancient weapon RNG" after weeks of the new season makes one wonder what exactly you are expecting. The really commitet people at the top disenchant ancient weapons every day because they play so much. They swim in that stuff. Unless you are ready to invest that much time, you wont be anywhere near the top, ever, and should stop being delusional about it.

sadly, the uber challenge is no challenge anymore with all those OP sets and ancient items. It changed from a fun experience to an annoying grind, at least for me.

    This really.

Last season I actually still died sometimes on my pet witch doctor (against the Diablo uber whos AoE fireball just roasted all my minions in about 3 seconds). Then they changed the vitality coefiicient on gear, increased pet life once again, buffed damage etc. Now i can go afk while my mobs kill uber diablo.

Players dont want difficult content, or they would have kept D3 closer to what it was at release.

posted a message on I hope Karma wont bite me in the ass for this...

Well, we had a funny little incident in a public game today.

So I joined a game in the "new" season which was tagged rift. Of course there were 3 of us in the rift and one guy was doing whatever bounty he wanted to. We asked him several times to join our rift or go to a bounty game, to which he did not even reply. So after a few minutes I started a kick vote.

We kicked him, and right as we did so, he killed a goblin and opened the vault :D The other 2 in my group have never been in the vault before, so we cleared it.

So, long story short, you better reply to group chat or you may get kicked in the worst moment...

Anyway, I regret starting that kick vote after I saw the vault. Maybe that was his first vault this season. I am kinda sorry for it now...

posted a message on Some questions from a fresh level70 WD :)

So many questions, and most of them are answered in any "how to play your WD" video on youtube... Did you even try to research anything yourself?

Any why the hate for specific items? If you just want to ignore all the best gear in the game, your character will not get very strong.

The comment in question from the Tavern Talk was only meant to indicate that a subscription MMORPG is a vastly different genre than a non-sub ARPG. The expectations from the players should reflect this difference, but we're seeing a lot of folks seemingly expertly adept at crafting a mountain from a mere molehill.

Realistic expectations were never really a strengh of the Blizzard playerbase ^^

Just like the inferno diffifulty at release and the MP10 and T6 setting in later versions were never intended to be where the majority of the people will be playing. But as soon as they were released, most people expected to be able to faceroll it.

was the D2 closed battle net overrun with hacks and dupes? I only ever played offline on a LAN but remember them selling the closed battle net to players in the wake of Diablo 1 fireballs up your ass while you are shopping at Griswolds.....

did the server side "closed" battle net become overrun with dupes and cheating? I'm curious

Yes, dont ask me how though.

Somehow items that were taken from offline mode and edited to have insane stats managed to creep into closed battlenet, where they were duped like crazy and sold like hot cakes. The duping was rampant anyway, there were so many high runes in circulation. People kept buying them even though they knew that they will go "poof" in the next server cleanup.

Personally, I dont know how much better that Blizzard could make their code. It's been 10 years since D2 and that version of Battlenet. I am sure they have learned a lot. But I dont know if that's enugh.

    1. My statement wasnt about if WOW or POE or Checkers should have been used as an example (as you clearly think I was meaning by your statement) I was saying "I think Blizzard has realized D3 is pretty played out so they hope you migrate to WOW, and thats why D3 is similar to WOW in many ways and has many ties to it.

    2. offline mode is easy. no different than any other game with a single player aspect. you simply have ALL online characters and stashes saved on the Blizzard servers, only to be used and viewed online and offline characters can only be played single player offline (or maybe a Lan party). its easy to separate online and offline and virtually every other game does it. they do it with seasons and regular right now, except its all saved on their servers. as soon as they decide they dont want to support D3, they will probably make a patch that gives us offline mode.

    3. and I said its a business cuz some people clearly arent understanding that. Blizz is in it to make money (no sh1t, right) and WOW is a monthly check, whereas D3 only gets them money when expansions come out. even I would support WOW as much as I could. anyone wanting to pay their bills and draw a steady paycheck would think that way.

1: D3 is not similar to WoW.

2: If it is so easy, why dont you tell Blizzard? I am sure they will hire people with workable, smart ideas that actually save them money.

3: People are understanding that. You are underestimating "people", and that needs some work to achieve ^^

Blizzard is not just supporting WoW though. They are still supporting D2 for example, which has not made them money for almost a decade.

Personally, I do not care for the "casual" moniker. I find it falls short of properly describing the user-friendly approach that Blizzard takes toward these complex games. A good replacement for the term "casual gamer" would be "average gamer", and when you're in the business of selling video games, you would do well to appease the common denominator, the average gamer.

Not that I support this, not that I think it's right, but I have ask; What is the difference between the average gamer and the casual gamer? Nothing much that I can see.

I prefer casual to average, actually^^

Average sounds like it is rating your playing ability while casual just says how much time you can spend with the game compared to some of the "hardcore" players. If you call it average, then that whole "elite vs. noobs" busines comes up, and I dont think that we want that :D

I think that most of the people who played D2 (or even D1) or WoW back when they were new are by now in a different positions in life and can only spend limited ammounts of time on games. Except for people like Krippi, Athene or Kungen and a few others who got fameous by playing them and made it their job.

I actually liked how many aspects of WoW were implemented in D3. At least in the vanilla version.

Also the boss fights that actually feel like boss fights with different stages etc, that was all really great when it came out. Killing Belial for the first time way back then, with his different phases and his (slightly) changing location, I was really hoping that Blizzard got it right.

Unfortunately that was not what the players wanted though... Think of it, in WoW you had a real progress system. With heroic raids so difficult that the majority of the players never saw them. That's what Inferno difficulty was originally intended to be. The spirit of the entire vanilla concept was to actually challenge players. And we all know how well that went from the WoW Expansion Cataclysm where they originally came out with really really challenging instances and raids and their player numbers dropped to the lowest count since WoW release... Since then it's back to easy casual friendly grind games.

posted a message on Offhand confusion

Ok i have not played my DH much, just farmed some shards on my WD to buy him the M6. Now that I finally have that complete, I was looking trough my stash and at all my offhands. Now the problem is bombadiers rucksack. I was looking trough the build section and not one build has any other offhand but bombadiers.

I have one of them, but it's lvl 44 :/ I have some options though, like meticulous bolts or the spine of seething hatred. Aren't there any builds with these? I remember the last time I checked DH's (admitted that was a while ago, probably before the M6 change) that elemental arrow builds and chackram builds weren't so unheared of?

So bottom line is, is my lvl 44 bombadiers really better than all the other options? -.-
