posted a message on Experiences with the new drop rates?
In all the farming runs I have done in act1 it seems I have found nothing of value. The only notable thing I found in Act2 was a 1100k dps 2h, but even the stats on that were jacked up. The only gold I can make is from selling broken down stuff, and from selling to the vendor. Even the ilvl63 stuff I find doesn't sell on the AH even tho I put most up for like 20k...

I rarely play now. I don't mind the whole having to farm to progress, but at this point it appears there is no progression.

posted a message on Blacksmithing value
Thank for your responses. The reasoning behind the question was that I have a toon for every class (2 which are in inferno currently), and was wondering if something like this would make it easier to gear out as opposed to spending 10-30mil+ per item, per slot, per toon. The 2 that I have in inferno currently still can not handle act2 elites/champion mobs even after countless hours of farming for gear, and I guess I haven't found a good enough niche to make a decent amount of gold within a reasonable time frame. The crap I find appears to be so worthless that I even have a hard time getting rid of it on the AH. Another thought I had would be to buy gem patterns, and try selling gems to acquire the gold needed to get gear. Any thoughts and/or suggestions as to how I can even get one of the 2 I have in inferno to the point of actual progression? To say I'm getting frustrated, at this point, would be an understatement.

Is blacksmithing worth doing at all? I am mainly asking in terms of the 6 prop's type gear. For example... Could I craft, through BS, a 1handed 6 prop weapon that could be a 1k dps with good stats on it as well. Same for armor (minus the dps portion of course). I fully understand about the randomness, but is it even possible or does that type of gear only come from drops? If it is even possible does anyone know the rates? Tho that starts getting into the random portion of it....

    -increased repairs

I understand the reason they wanted to change the repair costs, but I think they did it the wrong way. They said it was to make graveyard zerg less of an option, but that would imply that they didn't want you to die and then rush to your death again over and over to whittle down champ/elite mobs. However, I do a single farming run and make no where near the funds I used to make due to playing a melee and getting hit all the time. Even without having a death I was playing like 30k, and I wasn't done with my farm run! It has almost cut my farming production in half (pure gold wise). They should of maybe had death's cost more durability. Same repair costs, but more of them for zerg meanwhile those who are not dying are not getting hit with this penalty as well.

-lowering the damage of the monsters in inferno is cancelled out by all the dps nerfs.

I agree with this as well. "We don't want people to feel the "need" to have to stack IAS". No one "needed" too. People choose too. They like to talk about how they want people to experiment and come up with their own builds, starts, etc, but everytime they nerf an overall stat you limit options. Any class could of had 2 stereotypical builds. One focused on big numbers (crit/crit dmg), and one focused around smaller numbers (Hit fast, but maybe not as much per hit as the other build but more hits). Nerfing a stat like IAS limits the later of those builds which limits viable options for other possible builds. It makes no sense to nerf something just because people choose to stack it. Whats next? If the majority of people start running around with 70k-80k Hps are they gonna nerf vitality? Where does it end?

posted a message on Blacksmith STILL worthless
My problem with BS'n is a combo deal.

1- The costs for higher lvl items is still high
2- the luck that is involved.

If the cost was lower the random stat thing (which the stats rarely, if ever, line up) wouldn't seem so bad, but throwing high cost and a "winning the lotto" chance of getting something worth while is too much. Even the lotto only costs a buck or 2....

Not as in depth as some of the discussion here on the forums but I found this guide to give a good general overview of the 2 main inferno builds along with the strongest spells/stats for Wizards.

    http://www.squidoo.c...-guide-diablo-3

I agree that things like this are often easier to take in then forum discussions.

Not a bad little read. Thank you. It would appear that my current build is sort of a hybrid of the 2 they discuss. My current build is ...
    http://us.battle.net...XPOS!UXd!YbaZYZ

Useing AO to keep mobs slowed and add dmg along with venom hydra. DS is my "oh shit" button, and I pop mirror image either as defensive or to get the packs to stop so I can "turn and burn" for a bit. Passives are Temp Flux (for snares), Astral Pres (AP regen), and Illusionist (so i can pop MI more).

    HPS - 35k
    DPS - 26.8k
    Resists - 150-200ish
    Armor - 5300
    Crit chance - 5%
    Crit dmg - 110%
    Attks per sec - 1.72
    HPS regen - 423
    Movement speed - 12%
    Currently useing a 2H.

I am trying to go from Act1 to Act2, and kind of having issues. Was hopeing there was a fore mentioned guide I could go over and iron out wrinkles. While I have not seen many "arguments" over gear/stats/builds it does make it easier to absorb the info when not sort through the debates. Which cudos to the community for actually debating and not acting children when making points for, or against, any certain train of thought. Tip of the hat to you all. That is not often seen.

posted a message on Any PC written Guides?
Is there any player written guides in the sense that you would see on the WoW forums? Where someone would post a "Shammy Raid Healer Guide" or a "Fire Mage Guide". Where in it they would post the most important stats to max (intel, hit, crit, spellpower, etc), the items/slot that you could find said stat. In addition to stats/gear there would also be a section on passives and strats.

    For example...
"Joe Shmoes 1Hand+Source IAS Wizard Guide"
These are the stats your looking for...
These are the slots you can get it on....
These are the passives most commonly used....
This is the general strat to make this build work...

    Or...
"Nell and Bob's 2Hander Crit Wizard Guide"

These are the stats your looking for...
These are the slots you can get it on....
These are the passives most commonly used....
This is the general strat to make this build work...

I just seem to get a better understanding when the info is presented in this fashion. It wouldn't surprise me if no such guides exist atm. Game still fairly young and all the different possible builds and such, but I know I would be greatful for links (if they do exist) or if someone were to write up some.

    Quote from shadoroth

I have heard of people on the forums talking about simply never getting hit in act 3 when farming. But sometimes the odd moloch fireball and more often then not those spearchuckers hit me and almost 1 shot me.

You are going to get hit from time to time, and you also die at some point. It just does not seem feasible to NEVER get hit at all. If someone can complete an entire Act of inferno and NEVER get touched we all could use their insight. ;)

Wiz or DH? I have both, and both are the same basic playstyle (ranged dps). Stay at range, deal some damage, run/kite, or die...
