I'm considering the idea of not picking up rares anymore. I sell 5+ screens worth of rares a night for 200-300k. Why? It wont make me rich. And all I've found this week are two items that sold for 275k each.
So if you get 200-300k per night, why wouldn't you do this? After 10 nights you'd average 2.5M just for doing what you normally do, and you have a chance to get items that sell for a decent amount on the AH. I guess you'll never get into investing as most investment opportunities are for medium to long-term grown. Just because something isn't a get-rich-quick operation doesn't mean it's not worth it.
OT: I only pick up rares; lvl 62 and 63 Armor, all jewelry, Legendaries, lvl 61+ 1h weapons, and lvl 63 2h weapons. I've found picking up everything fills your inventory too quickly, and wastes too much time when combined with IDing them and traveling back to town frequently.
@OP- So many people can't face the facts they just don't have good luck. MF, NV, and MP all increase your odds at good loot, but none of them guarantee better drops. I have been getting better drops lately, but I think that's the result of 1.0.5, not some crazy Blizz conspiracy. You deserved the ban, and I hope you keep getting terrible drops.
I had one of these with the same stats, except mine had 174 Int. I put it on AH for 15M bid, 55M b/o. Someone bid within an hour, and then it was bought out within 6 hours. Good luck, get that gold!

On Monday, I was complaining in trade chat that I don't even get excited when I see Resp. Chests any more... That night, I open one in Act 3, Keep lvl 2, and out pops a Zurimasa's set torso item. I put it on the AH with a minimum bid of 15M, and a buyout of 55M (as a joke). Then someone bought it for 55M... So don't give up on those Resp. Chests! They may pay off.
OT: I do the Alkaiser route, but also add in one circle of Tower of the Cursed... 2-4 Elites in a small area.
I've posted an auction before, and it posted my item 4 times (due to Comcast being terrible). I didn't dupe, but the 3 "extra" auctions could not be bid on/bought out, it was just an AH bug.
Why the jump to "OMG DUPES ARE REAL!" after this terrible item is posted several times with the same bid/b.o and time? Now, if they bids/buyouts were different, the times were off, etc. we would have PROOF that it's a dupe.

Also, a LoH gem in one of the weapons might not be a terrible idea if you keep dying.
