    Thanks for the input!

Things took a bit of a turn today as I found a few key pieces I needed to make a pet build. If I decided to go pet WD instead, how would I reroll this differently then?

So, I just came back from an extended break, got insanely lucky, and had a pretty decent Furnace drop relatively quickly. Having not played much since the patch, I just wanted to make sure I rerolled this correctly.

I thought, especially for JadeWD, that rerolling the base damage was the way to go but as I looked over the leader board I see many people have rerolled to 10% dmg. I already have the item to give it a socket as well so that's not necessary.

If I could get some advice on which of those two to reroll (and why) I would greatly appreciate it!

The biggest problem I see with your argument is that anyone with a 'sample size' smaller than yours is not valid. My question is: once someone rolls out an 'amazing' item why would they keep crafting it? They wouldn't. So their sample size is always going to be smaller than someone who is getting unlucky in their crafting. The only way for someone to invalidate your argument is if they kept crafting an item long after they had no need to.

Crafting is not for everyone. If you want a GUARANTEED upgrade then go to the AH. If you want to roll the dice and MAYBE save a whole lot of money then by all means craft. Its like any sort of gambling, not everyone is going to win.

    Quote from Bilge

If you want a single player game, there are thousands out there for you to choose from.

If you insist on playing an online game, you must deal with the fact that online things, such as an AH, are available and probably required for higher end content. Just as in MMOs such as WoW, you cannot progress past a certain point solo, the same is true here.

    I simply don't understand the anti-AH crowd.

I'm not bashing the AH or anti-AH in any way. I was just curious if people were experiencing the same luck I was having while farming and it appears they are. That's all.

    What's you're mf?

It's around 200...like I said, it's not great but not terrible. Also, if I have read correctly, MF only allows MORE rares to drop and doesn't affect how they will roll out, correct?

    Quote from Kash1988

well, since we all (or at least almost all) have 90% of gear from AH, its very tough to be actually finding upgrades

but imagine...without AH, when u finish hell you have ilvl 54 gear max, now at that level of gear, u gonna find upgrades more often than in the first scenario

hope u understand what i mean

another thing on topic...yesterday i dropped 130 int, 69@, 3% crit (~8mil @ AH) bracers, so that was one hell of an upgrade

Yes, that makes sense. However, even the items I am finding that are rolling out well (STR, VIT, ARM, RES, LoH) are rolling out with such ridiculously low numbers that I am wondering if they would have even been upgrades without the AH. I can't tell you how many level 63 items I see with like +23 STR...and weapons, well, that's not even worth talking about!

Ok, so just to start off...I am not a HARDCORE player. I have logged 200 hrs on my Barbarian and most of that has come from farming Acts 1&2 Inferno. I am SLOWLY making my way through act 3.

My question is as stated...How often are people finding upgrades they can actually use vs. how many of your upgrades come from the AH?

I actually have a decent (but not great by any means) magic find set that I farm acts 1&2 with...each run netting me ~25-40 rares per run. I have seen my fair share of 62-63 items, usually 20 or more on any given night. My frustration is that out of 200 hours of play (probably 175 of that farming gear) I have found a total of ZERO upgrades for my gear...all the gear that I have has come from the AH.

So, with that being said, if Blizz had not implemented the AH (which many people were against from the beginning) I would basically be stuck in Act 1 still (or worse, Hell) trying to find my FIRST upgrade.

This isn't a 'QQ, this game sucks' thread...I am still playing regularly and having fun. I am just wondering if this is an excessive time to go without an upgrade?
