we got a 1174 dps 1h 15%IAS 60%crit 100+int and vitality in middle act 3 yesterday off of a regular chest. RNG is random.

and i got 12% runspeed 120+ int/vitality boots with dex and some resist off a rare vendor for 7k in act 1 inferno. you just never know... thats the fun of diablo

i am soloing my way thru act 3 with Glass Cannon - down in the last part of it now. ~28k hp and 45k dps, 400 all resists... is enough to not get 1shotted by spears or fireballs, with force armor anyway. believe it or not the slow time / time warp 20% dmg inc bubble is pretty good in act 3 with all the chokepoints. lets me halflife blue packs with my first 3 celestial orbs. and if you are a baddie like me its very helpful for getting thru all the spears and fireballs

IAS not necessary but nice, dex not necessary but nice.

tl;dr OP hates the entire game and blizzard and everyone that likes the game at all.

look, d3 was a huge commercial success. that much is obvious. was it still a complete let down? yes, everyone knows it. was it a worthy successor to d2? did it become the freeform ultima online 2 people were hoping for with pking and stuff back in whatever ten years ago date it was originally announced ?

no. its a korean grind game with a RLAH. BUT ITS MY GRIND GAME OK? LET ME JUST GRIND IN IT, AND LET ME TRY TO ENJOY IT. NOW IM CRYING. I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY WITH YOURSELF. WHY COULDN'T YOU JUST LET ME ENJOY THE BAD GAME D3 IS??!1 WHYYYYY

but seriously - d3 is what it is. its honestly probably just a cash battery for Project Titan for blizzard right now. what did you expect? the development took forever and like a zillion different people had their dirty paws in the mix at one point or another.

just play it for a few months. get yo sixty bux out of it, then play whatever the next hyped up MMO or MOBA out is around christmas time.

roll yourself a nice spliff and put on the QVC shopping channel for background noise and pour yourself a nice beer and log in to ventrilo with your friends and just farm for some drops. just relax. have fun with it. not everything has to be a mega battle arena world invitational sponsored gaming hollywood event to be worth sixty bucks anymore.

yeah. there is a RLAH. obviously they designed the game around us using it. Just like they design wow around the monthly fee and now the vanity item shop- everything takes forever and the expensive stuff looks pretteh. its not a wild conspiracy, its a bidnass.

i know... its beat city, but ive also gotten legendary/good set item from random minions. random drops be random.
but for players looking to advance into / thru act 2 - just find ways to quickly farm gold. use goldfind gear if you have to (srsly) - sell everything over 1kg, dont DE for mats even level 60 stuff if you don't plan on using the mats to randomroll gear to sell or if you don't like selling in general. who knows when the comm AH will be up and stable. if you want to progress now, farm gold gold gold. goto the AH and buy some upgrayddz and you'll find the later inferno acts much, much easier. even just a great weapon upgrade and like two +60 all resists items will give u a noticeable improvement.

keep playing! don't give up! unless you don't like the game then i suppose you can give up =P

everyones experience i've talked to so far has been pretty much the same:

farm act 1

then one of two things happen:
1) uninstall ->forums to bitch
2) Auction House 3 for ten hours

really the Auction House 3 portion of the game is the 'srs biz' check. you either want to deal with that or you don't. it is where blizz alienated everyone they're going to alienate. i personally love trading so i have no problem at all camping the AH for sillies putting great deals up. i could see if you didn't like that though, that farming for DAYS for your own upgrades would burn you out. Each act so far feels fine to me in Inferno, at least for softcore mode. Hard at first, but once you cheese it with AH-bought gear and a lil bit of gold farming, they're totally do-able.

This. i have a roughly 4m gold total suit on my wiz and once i spent the gold to drop vita for dps increase (at 36k) from a nice weapon and got myself to 400s resist all, i am cruising thru act II inf (farm style) and should have belial down tonight. im using cookie cutter arcane FA build. stacking defensive and finding that perfect HP total to avoid damage with FA (around 33-36k) is the key. also get 12% runspeed boots. also play solo - teaming up for anything past act 1 is just silly and makes the game unnecessarily hard. solo its much easier.

tldr - ranged are fine, inferno is endgame, etc.



it takes some time on the AH, but it really isn't THAT bad.
