Uhm, It's Blizzard. 99.9% of the information is true. You just have to find the right source. Also, everything that was leaked, it on a professional gaming site. It was there, because it was brought to them by an "unknown source" a.k.a. one of their employees that also works with Blizzard.

Ah, here we go. This one's up for debate.

    1) They we not generating profit for Blizzard. They were just an office taking up resources and money. However, none of the employees were fired. Blizzard North is also who requested job's for an unannounced PC project. Then, out of nowhere, they were merged. Moved down to South. What is thought to of happened, is that they wanted to keep an eye on their project. What project? Again, for debate, but 75% sure that it is Diablo 3. Due to all the of hype, and denial of Blizzard to not even of considdering of making a D3. Of course they would atleast considder it. That leads people to think that it is Diablo 3 they were working on.

Now also they belive that Diablo 3 has been rewritten for an ORPG, instead of a RPG. So they wanted to have more employees work on it, and keep a closer eye on develpment to make it the best damn game they can.

    2)....Well, there isn't really a 2. It just sounded stronger having a *1* there.

It doesn't exist. Anymore. They merged with Blizzard South.

Big box at the top with dates.

As for everything else: Diablo 3 has a 33% Chance to be mentioned at this year's E3. 33% for This year's Blizzcon, and a 16.5% to be mentioned at next year's E3, and 16.5% chance to be kept under the radar until release.

Okay, KnightmareX mentioned the three prime evils. Now, what happends when you killed them all? This is an argument against the Diablo 3 creation that has been going on for years. All three prime evils are dead. That would leave you saving the world and that is it. It's over. Done.

However, he also mentioned that they were weak when they weren't in Hell. Well, since the soulstone is dead, smashed, shattered, whatever, Diablo would have been sent to hell. With the other Prime Evils. NOW, if they were all together, wouldn't they have their full powers? That would mean, if they all went together, they could easily break out of hell. That brings us back to the Heaven vs. Hell. If they broke out of Hell, Heaven would have to come down to save the world.

The angels and demons would not have restrictions as the world stone and soulstones are gone. Their powers would be infinate. So a energetic battle between Heaven and Hell. Any way that you look at it would bring you to the Heaven vs. Hell idea. There's is no dought that that is the story line. But between the corruption of Tyrael, and All "Hell breaking loose", those are the two possible senerios.

    1) What does all this have to do with "Acts"?

    2) Houses would be awsome. But you should have to have the skills to build one.

Well, Diablo is the master. The Devil. If the Devil dies, hes dead. Gone. Tyreal is the supreme evil now. No dought Blizzard will tap into this, whether as a Act, or the main story line, he will be a boss.

Let me clarify mine. I wrote a lot without thinking through it. Actually, when I put certain classed I forgot about the whole customization ideas. I do think that Blizzard will have male and female for both. Actually, I guarentee they do. But still the classes are exactly as I explained them. I'm probably about 80% sure Diablo 3 will be along those lines.

As for neutral classes, there are atleast 3. Always. But the Neutral classes will change very little depending on whether you are good or evil. Basicly only appearance will change. Skills will hardly change at all...

I'm also guessing that since Diablo himself is dead, Blizzard may not exactly call the game Diablo 3, but either:

    A) Change the name entirely, example: Tyreal: Devil's Sidekick (*Lame yes. But an example non-the-less...*)

    B) Sub-Title it. Diablo: He's Baaa---ack.

posted a message on Guilds/Clans in Diablo III
Guilds. Everyone loves guilds. Even back in the days of Diablo we had clans. Now, in the days of World of Warcraft and "Guild" Wars, Guilds are everywhere you look. There is no reason for Blizzard not to put Guilds into Diablo 3. Clans were a huge part of the Diablo 2 multiplayer, and clan duels in Diablo 2 were still some of the best PvP times ever.

The dueling system is what set it off. It was perfect. If they keep it how it was before, along with putting arenas or "battle gounds" into the game, you could have the perfect game. Imagine being able to join a small game. 32 (maybe 64, and if we're lucky 128) people, and being able to go hostile. Or, if there is a person in a Guild, go hostile with the the entire guild, which then makes your guild hostile with them. Say a 64v64 guild battle. With individual Caps AND Tunics with your guild's CUSTOM identification image. Imagine uploading an amazing graphic that would be printed on everyone in your guild's armor. Like engraved.

Guilds are a perfect way to put team cooperation into Diablo, which is what the whole multiplayer experience is about. Massive guild wars with over 100 people would surely create the best MMORPG/RPG in the world, and on Blizzard's side, won't require a lot of work.

    100vs100 guild battles. Mmm.. Tasty.

    Quote from jm6517 »
I would not pay to play Diablo3. Mainly because, even if good, the game is always full of bugs and drops -- plus no promises of recovery of any sort. At least when free it wouldn't cost much to start over again when you lose equipment while transferring because their server dies.

Personally I think Blizzard doesn't purposely fix the dupe and bot problems. Having programming experience, the bot problem is an easy fix to do. Simply build into the command DLL to check if the command comes from the Keyboard/Mouse or from another program and flag the account (and all accounts that CD Key has used - a simple query of their login database) to be unusable/deleted by BNET. Require players to email from their email account with a justification and listing their account(s). Those not justified should be deleted.

As for the dupe problem, what I would do is simply remove any item that has all the same properties (includes defense, type, actual mods on item, etc.) from any character when they log on. Shutdown all, ALL, the servers for 24 hours and do this. Of course send an email to all registered accounts anouncing this first. It is statistically improbable to have items with all the same properties. Yes, even remove items from people who have "legit" items, because I do think most people would be okay with that if they know its fixing the dupe problem. I would even remove all runes, gems, potions, and gold from all characters. Then upload a fix that would check to see if a character "adds" an item not currently listed in the game. This will be done whenever an item is added to their inventory, or while they are in their inventory view. Any accounting gaining a "unlisted" (duped) item would be flagged for review by BNET.

Also add to the above check anytime an item is traded or moved that it's properties are within listed specifics for the item. This will prevent bugged items due to a server crashing or otherwise. Item's bugged will be removed with an automatic e-mail sent to the registered email account allowing the person to send back justifying why they should get a replacement for the item removed.

Also, have the game check to see if the DLLs of the game have changed when the player first starts the game and when the game stops. Also allow players to hit a button that will check all DLLs on all players in that game if it is correct. Such checks would only stop the game for maybe 20 seconds. However players could only do this once until a new player arrives in the game.

In addition, if a Player kills another Player, have no gold drop and the body appear in town. Or anyone killing someone with one or more bodies in play will loses 1% of their experience that they had when they first came into the game.

As for your DLL solution: Doesn't work. A game doesn't register keyboard strokes when you are playing online. It is registered using packets. Only on your side does it reconize key strokes. A DLL would not matter.

And duping: There is no way to fix this on Open Battle Net. The items that your character has is saved in your .D2 file. The item I.D. is easily changed when you dupe on your character. The program is actually hex editing the item when it is duped, so that Diablo does not reconize it as a dupe.

That duping issue is why sometimes when you would hack on Diablo 2, you would go to play your character and it pops up with "Bad Inventory Data" when you went to enter an actual game.

These are problems with every game online, always will be there. There is no way to 100% fix a game. Only prevent it. Like water proof. There is never anything that is water proof, only resistant. Think of hackers like water.

Okay, with World of Warcraft being how it is, there will definately be character customization. Sooo... It's ownage. They would now have classes instead of characters. And hopefully make the character development process atleast over the creativeness of Mr. Potato like World of Warcraft is.

    As for classes...

Paladin: (same as before, don't change it) But as a Heavenly Warrior with healing powers. As it was before. (Almost Angelic...) 1 handed sword, and shield.

Amazon. Again, for good. Female warrior. Strong skills. Speed. Agility. Spears/Bows and 1 Handed swords.

Mage: Simmilar to the Sorceress. Same skills, under a new name. For good. 2 handed staves, secondary: 1 handed Wands.

Summoner: The good side of the Necromancer. Up raising heavenly spirits for pretection and fighting. Also a secondary healer like the Paladin, however, not so much a fighter. Has a large range of summons and a lot of choices for creatures/beings. Staves/Wands

Priest: Heavy Healer. Not a damage dealer or taker.
    _______

Barbarian: Both good and evil. Split durring the upraging of the demons. Some went good, some went bad. Brute strength and force. Axes and Two Handed swords and Dual Wielding 1 handed swords.
    _______

Necromancer. The Bad side of the Summoner. Raise demons for your evil bidding. Now a fighter. Has a large number of demons with a large range of skills.

*Dark Paladin: Same as a good one, only factioned for evil.

*Dark Amazon: Dark female warrior. Same as good one. Only skill changes.

*Dark Priest: Same as good one. Different skills. Different Powers. Same basic principals.

Warlock: Black Magic. Heavy magic dealer.

    *= Name unknown

This is just a guess. Also, depending on being a Heaven Alliance or Hell Alliance, your appearence will change depending. Along with armor looks and weapon looks, making you look more good or evil.

The idea in Diablo 2 multiplayer was perfect. It was flawed in design, but overall the layout and structure was perfect. Open B.Net and Closed B.Net, along with the standard single player game play. It was genius.

If Diablo 3 comes out, the same will be there. You have your single player character that can play on Open Battle Net. There, of course there will always be a risk of hackers, your character is saved on your computer so you can edit it at will.

But if you want your multiplayer to be hacker free, you can just play on Closed Battle Net where your character is saved on Blizzard's servers. This, if the game is fully 3D, will make it identical to a MMORPG. Which is just what Diablo 2 was, with a top-down perspective.

Also, with Open Battle Net it gives you the option of playing on a TCP/IP sever, also known as LAN. However your character needs to be saved on the computer, so you would have to be on the same computer no matter where you go to play on the LAN. So it hurts LAN Centers, which brings back to the point of illegal servers.

Either way, Blizzard will always lose some money, but make more then they lose. Besides, it's Diablo. Who would care what LAN Centers want? It still owns.

    EDIT:

This means, yes. I would P2P to play Diablo 3. It's the perfect game with the perfect multiplayer setup. That's what makes Diablo so great.
