Bought a new LOH weapon and packs just wreck me. What part of my stats are too low? I literally get 4-5 shotted by Phasebeast champs.

Just tried some Act 3 and it's definitely not doable, at least with any sort of efficiency. Part of that is probably my weapon, but I'm wondering what else I need in order to make Act 3 farmable? My resists seem good, is my Armour too low? Need more LoH? DPS? Dex?

I just spent about 2-3 million on everything except a weapon, I had to go up to higher prices in the 200k+ range to get some of the resist stats I was after. These are my stats now:

27k HP (my old weapon has 103 VIT, 720 DPS and Crit DMG)
5950 Armour (with Enchantress and Passive)
    883 Resists
    1604 Dexterity

    183 Life Per Second
116 Life Per Hit (from a Ring)
    14k DPS

For the weapon I'm willing to spend a mil or two, what should I be trying to get? Life on Hit? Socket? What DPS range?

Are those stats buffed? 6k Armour with a 1000 armour shield requires 625 armour per slot hat naturally has an armour value. That seems really high :o

EDIT: You know, I have to ask... How on earth did you manage to make 8.5 million before dinging 60? I know you said you've farmed Hell a lot, but bloody hell. I only recently got the 'loot 5m gold' achievement, and I've had a level 60 since launch week...

I've been farming Act 3 on my DH, meaning Act 3 Inferno.

Is anyone farming Act 3 reliably on their Monk? What kind of stats do you have?

Is it possible to get gear good enough to farm Act 3 with using only 8 mil or so?

Long story short I've been farming Act 3 on my DH, but since 1.0.3 dying too much counts, and I'm built glass cannon. If I want to say, exchange my shoulders for ones with survivability, it'll cost me about 3-5 mil. I'd almost rather gear my Monk and farm with him.

So how far do you think you can get right off the AH with this much, and what gear should I be looking for? I of course know to choose a resist and stack it + All, but what about weapons? Do we still want Life on Hit? How much should I spend on it? Is a socket important? What should I look for on Rings/Amulets?

invis snakes are the worst creation.. i cant kite in those tunnels public games are horrible gah i dont even know!

Ah, yeah. In the sewers, any packs you can't kill you'll want to try to kite to a spot you can dump them off at. Sometimes you can't, so you have to man up or just restart.

In the end I think the best way to deal with the Nagas is to preemptively SS just before they re-appear in your face. You'll learn the timing after a while, and will still probably die, but it works.

Totally disagree here that DPS is the main factor when deciding which weapon is better. If you take IAS out of calculation weapon damage plays huge role in Damage output. I especially picked up a bow with less dps but its damage was higher than those similiar both min and max. 250 more min damage on blue xbow +dex %+skill%+crit dmg? Just quick estimate 250x1800dex - 4.5k raw damage+skill %. Crits will make even noticeable diffrence 10k+ per hit already.

When im looking for weapon i always look up Damage first because it can vary a lot on weapons in range of 100 DPS->socket->Crit dmg->Dex/etc->IAS(post patch). 38 dex is hardly noticeable diffrence in overall damage.

... When I say DPS, I don't mean the DPS value of the weapon. I mean the number that your DPS improves when you put it in the spreadsheet (i.e all factors are considered). I honestly figured people would be smart enough to make that assumption and connect those dots, but apparently I'm mistaken.

Very true but I've compared several bows to a bow with a socket and a critical gem in it and 90% of the time the socketed bow wins out. Even against bows that were 2 to 300+ dos higher than the socketed bow. You can do it yourself if you like just to hopefully back my statement up. Bows with Critical DMV or with a possibility to throw a critical DMV gem in them are sought out for.

Whichever gives more in the spreadsheet is the one you go with. I've also checked a 950 bow with a socket vs an 1100 and the 1100 won out. Depends on a lot of factors, but 90% of the time socketed weapons cost insanely more than those without, and you're unlikely to find a cost efficient improvement. No point in getting a 5 mil weapon with a socket when you can get a 2 mil without and have the same DPS gains.

I don't buy a weapon unless it comes with a socket anymore. Its a huge DPS increase having that critical dmg affixed to your weapon. Especially if you use SS. Which I don't use anymore cause my crit chance is up to 49% unbuffed.

You should be using whatever gives you the most DPS. If X weapon without a socket gives more than Y with a socket, X is clearly the better option and choosing Y would be completely moronic.

To the OP, use the spreadsheet (check the frontpage of this subforum) to check your DPS gains with new gear or weapons. In my slightly meh gear, 38 Dex gives me 1.3k DPS.

im on a europe server, but do you look just for a simple blue 1100 dps xbow or 1100 bow.
but i will check it out, you really help me out a lot man!

Yeah and blue bow/xbow will do fine. The DPS/damage is what's important and where your damage comes from. When I upgraded from a 950ish xbow to one at 1100 I think I gained about 8-9k DPS. The Bow/Xbow thing is mostly personal preference, I prefer Xbows because it makes things like Impale and Cluster Arrow much more worthwhile.

What are you having problems with? Pretty sure when I did Act 2 I was barely hitting 30k DPS and had no health.

    hmm thanks for your suggestions
    @sircuddles
i understand if i had a good 1100 dps weapon
problem is atm im using a crappy 950+ bow something with no good stats
cause all the good ones are pricey so i cant afford those , im just farming act1+2 trying to get more money so that i can get better gear from AH.

I just checked the AH and you can get an 1100 DPS Crossbow for under 500k, at least on US. That should be pretty affordable. Once you get something around 1100 DPS, you won't need to upgrade your weapon for quite a while (until you have a regular farm route and ~5-10 mil gold).

An 1100 DPS Crossbow will probably give you a 7-10k DPS increase, it should be the first thing you get when you start farming for gold. Once you upgrade, you'll be able to finish Inferno if you want to (and if you're solid at kiting).

You can finish Inferno with 35k easily. I suspect you can at 30k, but there's really no reason to be that low. A good 1100 DPS weapon and high Dex gear will get you to 40kish. If you play slow and smart, I'm fairly certain Inferno is beatable at 30k.

People who are actually using good gear will lose substantially more than 160 Dex. Natalya's set for me would be a huge DPS loss. Dropping 60 mil to lose DPS so I can SS more? I'll stick to not sucking at the game and kiting.

I also look forward to laughing at your sadness when the set is nerfed.

Funny. What is good gear? I'm sitting at 88k dps without sharpshooter. Is my gear crap? And since for some reason people in this thread apparently can't read, i didn't acquire the entire set JUST for the 4 piece bonus, I was already wearing 3 pieces before the patch. All i had to buy was the boots. If the set gets nerfed, I'll just sell the boots and put back my old boots. I don't see why i would be sad because of this? Try harder.

If you were using 3 pieces of Natalya's, you were missing out on DPS via better gear. Natalya's pieces just aren't strong enough, even with the bonuses. That is of course unless you spent more than 100 mil on perfectly rolled Natalya's, then I can see it being worth it.
