I've rocked more than 100 MF and just got 2 legendaries this last week right when I got all my MF off (and both legendaries were the exact same item...) Just 1 BS plan and no JC plans...
If you see through he's personality, and don't spend too much time judging him for who he is, or what he did, etc. You will see that his ideas are really good!
I am currently struggling through act 3. And I've gotta say it: I'm getting jaded about this game pretty fast. Don't get me wrong, I have played many games that have struggling farming involved. But D3 is lacking something.
This is some of my negative criticism of the game which could arguably be related to what Kripp is experiencing:
-The content, quests/areas/bosses/mobs all feel repetitive. Both from a playthrough and a visual standpoint.
-There is no purpose in farming constantly. If I get all the top tier perfect items what is my reward?
-The gearcheck on some bosses and specific zones is too obvious. Skill is not as important as gear.
I really want to like this game, trust me I do... But I am getting jaded. I barely want to play it anymore... I've already farmed Act 2 more than 50 times... I could complain also about drop rates, random drop rolls, and AH prices. But all those issues with itemization and AH would not matter if there was SOMETHING to DO with the gear we aquire.
My personal favourite is commonly used around the skeleton king quest.
Enchantress: Don't you think it's curious that we spend so much time killing what should already be dead?
Wizard: What?! (Seaming offended by the question)
Enchantress: Um... I mean... Nothing... (Says in a shady/shy way)
The fun part is that the female Wizard uses Azula's voice actor (from Avatar: The Last Airbender) and when she says "what" she sounds a LOT like Azula. I get nerdgasms.
Spending time on the AH is a better way to make money then farming gold anyways, the 10 items limit kind of puts a damper on that though.
Yeah, I find the 10 items limit quite annoying. The WoW AH was way better in that way, but then again, WoW has a realm system, which reduces the load a lot.

Limited game creation is only there to stop people farming sarkoth in act 1 over and over and to also stop people repeating certain quests for levelling - such as the one in act 2
Yes they nerfed farm spots, but thats to combat bots - they dont want you farming 1 area, they want you to clear an area for loot and gold;
Just run hell mode with gf on or similar
Im running inferno pony levels with MF gear, and doing ok for myself atm;
Only upto 12mil tho atm, but my loot is pretty much better then whats on ah that isnt a small upgrade with a stupid price;
How hard was for you to get to gear good enough for Ponies? Also, finding the items to get into Ponies, ain't easy. I've played through the game a a lot of times now and haven't found any of the materials for the staff yet. But then again, I have the worst luck ever, 150hs into the game and absolutely no legendaries...
I had to resort to ashes farming and bought gear that way... >_<
All of these wouldn't be any kind of issue if the game could be played off-line.
I personally enjoyed about a weekend of ashes gold farming and I'm pissed as fu** that they not only nerfed that method but they also limit the amount of game creation...
I'm currently using a 900 something DPS + Intellect 2h Sword. Wondering if switching to a Wand with a Source is effective.
I find myself oftenly running out of AP and swinging my sword in the air, when using a wand instead of doing this it sends a bolt that can hit from a distance. It's funny, but when I use a Hydra+Blizzard build, get close to the mob and start hitting it with my sword I deal a whole lot of damage more than when kiting forever. Maybe if I'm able to hit with the wand while kiting I may improve my Effective DPS?
Also, looking on the Ah it's hard to find a high DPS wand, however if the trade-off from being able to shoot when out AP is a DPS increase, it may be worth it!
Nice method! But I prefer the Royal Cripts Ashes run. I get about 10k per run and there is 100% chances the ashes will be there each run. Today I made about 1 million in about 5 to 6 hours.
DPS on your character sheet is a really tricky number. It scales really high with attack speed and crit. If you stack attack speed your number will raise, you will attack really fast, but your AP will run out as fast. If you stack too much int you won't crit as much and your attacks will be slow. If you have too much crit modifiers you will rely a lot on RNG.
So don't guide yourself on that number.
Get a decent ammount of attack speed, some crit modifiers, a nice DPS weapon, and then stack some INT.
- Learn how to dodge mortar. You need to run in zigzag. Also mortar has a fixed range. If you are too close or too far it won't hit you. I sometimes use teleport aggressively against mortar, get close to them so that I don't get killed.
- Learn how to time your potions and diamond skin as well as teleport.
- Use teleport with the fracture rune, also illusionist helps, but it just triggers when the mob hit's you with his basic attack.
- Get some resistances.
And last but not least: Inferno requires skill and gear. It's not for everyone. I've seen many friends of mine just admiting that hell is as far as they can clear. Maybe it's your limit too.

The thing with WoW is you could get the best gear without touching the AH.

Maybe low difficulty runs? Or just storming through act 1 inferno? Another possibility would be a creative usage for the GAH and RMAH.
It is interesting to see how people will be facing this new limits Blizzard has imposed on us.

I was jaded about the game before this, GG Blizz.

Get Vit gems if you are struggling too much.
