I would get the helm, even if it didn't have all resist. That block is too good to pass up, and having a helm with a socket is a big upgrade against one without.
Get a helm of command and make sure it has a socket in it for a nice life% gem.
Oh, and see if you can get the Sacred Shield model of shield with high (28 or 29%) block. It blocks for more than the stormshield does, for a lot cheaper. Just make sure to get some nice stats on it
Had a bit of fun, got a couple pieces of dps gear, and a crappy (1k dmg) 2h, and killed butcher with 5 stacks of neph. Mix of dps and tank gear, full dps build. More like 7.5 seconds, but meh.

Coast the barbarian forums here and you'll see less QQ and more people up to the task than other classes. And you will get pwned going further in inferno as a dps barb, just FYI. A1 is cake.
Yeah, I like having the charge for heals and for gap closing (more dps time on boss). You don't need a whole lot of damage to do the fight, as it's not a dps race. As long as you can survive the adds while pumping out enough AoE to take them down (sidearm and revenge), then you're set.
I mainly use ignore pain for p3 if I get trapped by his meteors, and threatening shout isn't needed I felt like, but I was using it for the elite packs. Wrath of the Berserker is a bit overkill for the fight though, as you don't really hit any parts where you need to necessarily nuke anything.
I'm currently on my way to larder in a3, but wow.... Those skele's with the giant axe damn near one shot me. Kind of at a stand still until I figure something out there.

The damage number takes into account things like attack speed and crit (I could be wrong on crit though). Also, the pictures you could be seeing may be damage buffed as well (passives, battle cry, Frenzy - Maniac)
So I see a lot of "dont judge DH before you played it and bla bla bla" Me as a monk and my friend as a DH. Are both well geared. We always grouped until inferno where we wanted to solo and see how well we can do. We completly destroyed act 1 inferno as most ppl do anyway. Now onto act 2 we both needed to gear up to beat the content without skipping rare pack. Some pack I had to skip due to bad affix. Same for him. We get to Belial. He defeated belial on his DH in 17 seconds. ( Phase 3 that is ) And you tell me that he has a almost hard time as any other class? Are you joking me? I had to work my a$$ off to beat Belial solo monk. I did beat him. Im completly stuck in act 3 now having to rethink of another way of tanking/regearing/rebuilding my whole char. While hes completly destroying everything very fast. Please. Stop saying DH are very well balanced compare to other class. You go roll a barb or a monk and tell me its the same thing

TL/DR You need RA, and you need to keep it's DR % about equal with armor's DR %. He also goes in depth on choosing between DR and vit, as DR increases your effective health pool.
Only thing I worry about in a3 as a barb, with stats that could be had in a2, are melee with attacks I can't dodge. Don't stand it stupid shit, move out of the way of ranged projectiles. I leaped into a pack of 30 skeletons, mix of sword and bow, under the keep level 1. Revenge spam and keep defensive cd's up = win.
Is it infuriating at times, quite. You still die often, especially to overtuned mobs. If blizzard does anything, it would be to tune down said mobs, due to how spiky it makes damage. Don't hold your breath for a barb buff though.

At first I was wondering what you were smoking, but you make an excellent point. The ability to COD items would be fantastic, due to losing neph stacks and the AH cap.

There's a list of legendary's to aim for. Note, they don't need to be lvl 60 to be good. Justice Lantern and String of Ears are both 50 and 52.
