Also ITT, people expect not to be banned for obviously abusing a bug. Lesson learned, if you want to "see" what an exploit can do, watch youtube vids or streamers who decide they want to roll the dice with their accounts.

Check playtime this season, if more then 20 hours/day over the average of 4 weeks, instaban. Check sessions for keyboard input, if 10+ hours without a single minute without keyboard input, instaban. Monitor movement in town, if running the exact same pattern from the vendor, to the rift portal, to the blacksmith, to kadala for 10+ times in succession, instaban. Monitor targeting inside rifts, if never 'miss-clicking' air instead of a monster for 1+ hour, instaban. Monitor the use of potions, if never using a potion above a certain treshold for 100+ potion usages in a row, instaban. Monitor the use of certain skills, if never using skills like smokescreen of spirit walk above a certain health treshold for 100+ usages in a row, instaban. Monitor movement in specific rift maps, if taking the exact same route at the start of certain maps, 100+ times in a row, instaban.

This are just things I can think of in 5 minutes of brainstorming. You simply have to find the things a human can't do and a bot can. If you would put an actual team on it to work on it for a week you could come up with so many more factors that show non-human behaviour. If you're telling me blizzard cant write that, then I have to respectfully disagree with you. They could, they simply decide not to put effort into it.

We had this discussion just yesterday, and a million times before. Can we just stop promoting this nonsense, which might lead some people to just "try stuff out" which then in turn gets them banned?

Of course scanning your memory is illegal, but not if you ask for explicit permission to do so. You give Blizzard this permission by signing the EULA at the first start of the game, otherwise you won't be able to play D3. Of course you can't just go and scan people's memory, but there are always loopholes - or what do you think how virus scanners and those things work.

A company can write what they want in their EULAs. It does not supercede a nation's laws. At least in Germany, any terms in a company's EULA, that conflict with national or case laws are nullified, even if you agreed to them. They can scan my memory based on their EULA, but they should try their best not to be caught in the act.

Please show me the German law that states that software cant scan a persons RAM after explicitly asking for permission to do so. I really do not believe such a law exists. I guess there are no virus scanners in Germany then?

The basic right to "Informationelle Selbstbestimmung". Your virus scanner comparison is lacking. Of course the virus scanner is reading my memory but it doesnt tell its company anything UNLESS I want it to send data to them regarding malware. The issue lies in sending data of myself to 3rd parties without my explicit case-by-case consent

Oh, but blizzard warden does the same thing as a virus scanner. It's not like they copy your whole RAM and send it to their headquarter to inspect it there. Ofcourse not. They simply put 'entries' into warden and warden searches for those entries. If it finds a match warden will not send back your RAM to blizzard, it will simply send back 'positive hit for x bot, by x person, at x time'. As is stated in:

THE GAME MAY COMMUNICATE INFORMATION BACK TO BLIZZARD, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION YOUR ACCOUNT NAME, DETAILS ABOUT THE UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM DETECTED, AND THE TIME AND DATE; AND/OR (B) BLIZZARD MAY EXERCISE ANY OR ALL OF ITS RIGHTS UNDER THIS AGREEMENT, WITH OR WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE TO YOU.

They dont just randomly communicate information of your RAM back to blizzard, they simply send back this very specific information (account name, details about the program detected, time and date). They for sure dont need to ask your permission again on a case-by-case basis. You agreed once, thats enough. Similar to any other software that asks if they can send specific information back to their server for x reason, it's not like Facebook needs to ask your permission every time they use your data for commercial use.
Do you really believe a multimillion dolar company like blizzard-activision would develop software like Warden if it woudnt be legal? Do you really believe you know the law better then they do? Why if this discussion comes up nobody ever shows an example of a successful law-suit against Blizzard for scanning their memory?

This whole post is just a joke. The whole argueing about what is 'more bad' or 'you should ban botters first' is nonsense. It's like telling a police man who catches you speeding to go solve murder cases instead. Wont work, sorry.

Anyone who used this exploit didnt do so on accident. The steps required were so specific that there is no way anyone just randomly stubled into this, especially for multiple passives. Anyone who sais he didnt abuse it extensively and got perma-banned is simply lying.

I think the cap with non ancient weapon can be around 50.. Still seeking an ancient AW or SS... The good thing of this patch is that you can use many variation till i say lev 50, which isn't bad at all..

Haven't tried Delrasha yet, just mlee and ranged TR and AW build..

There is no way a non-ancient weapon caps at 50 when people have allready cleared 60 with an ancient one.

You are aware HP scales with 20% per rift lvl right? So 60 has 120%^10=620% more hp then 50.

Are you telling me the damage increase going from a non ancient to an ancient weapon is 620%? No way.

Having done 57 myself I can tell you I could clear a 57 with a non-ancient AW. I had no conduit, nor power pylon in my rift. I had no stoneboy (had the skelleton summoner boss), having either of that would have easily made up for the non-ancient weapon.

The potential of the build is insane. The damage it provides is insane and given you get the proper rift you can theoretically run this build with 0 toughness. For example, I had this rift with only teddy bears (no ponies), the density was insane and I got to 70% rift progress within 3 minutes. If you can finish such a rift with a nice power+conduit and stoneboy I'm sure you can reach ~64 orso. It certainly does not cap out at 50 for non-ancient weapons.

sigh.. what people share to get their 15 seconds of "fame"...

any decent barb already knew that cyclones do that from simply being able to hit monster in other rooms with them

Except that DFslet allready had far more then 15 seconds of "fame" in season one. Being the first to write a guide on the raekor charge barb after obtaining rank 1 with it.and being on the frontpage of diablofans multiple times.

These small tricks make the difference to be able to compete for top 1 and it's great he's sharing them.

So untill you obtain multiple rank 1 greater rifts and reach the diablofans frontpage I guess you just take your sour face elsewhere instead of mocking those that try to help others to become better! Thank you!

posted a message on Current 'gimping performance for xp' metagame

Does anyone share my frustration when it comes to players gimping their damage output by like 50% in supposedly fast greater rift farm groups and that the players that don't and deal pretty much all the damage don't get rewarded but punished for doing so?

I feel quite annoyed when I see this wizzard join with leoric's signet+hellfire ring+leorics crown, while I'm wearing a focus and restrain doubling his damage in speed 42 greaters and all he's doing is slowing me down causing rifts to be 3min instead of 2 min. Does anyone share my frustration?

Don't get me wrong, I understand why people do it, but if all 4 players would do it the speed of the clear would be extremely bad, so basically ~2 people are supposed to deal the damage while 2 others leech or something. It feels wrong that the leechers get rewarded for doing so. What's your opinion on this?

Barbs are certainly viable in group play, especially in the theoretically perfect rifts (high density, little ranged mobs, good affixes, pylon). Personally did a 48 rift with dutchfreak in 4man (2dh, wd, barb) and that was without pylon. It feels good walking through a whole lvl thats empty because dutch allready killed everything, only having to kill a few yellow or fire chain packs here and there and the rift guardian in the end.

I agree soo much with the post above. If you think all this requires is luck, go do 100 rifts yourself and get rank 1. Ifnot, stay silent. Blizzard sets the rules, not DF. If you dislike systems blame blizzard, but dont come in here blaming PLAYERS for using all tools blizzard gave them to achieve rank 1. There is absolutely zero logic in that.

Haha what a complete crap. New people have ranked and continued to rank up to today. Just 2 days ago the highest single rift was cleared, and yesterday the highest demon hunter rift was cleared. What are you actually smoking.

posted a message on Best weapon for pet build? For DoTs build?
I disagree with anyone saying SMK is BIS for jade harvest builds. I tried it, and its simply not worth it. By default a 1.2 attacks/secondweapon (sunkeeper)deals around 17% more damage then a 1.4 attacks/second weapon (SMK). Very important to note is that this damage increase is a flat multiplicative increase. Secondly a sunkeeper has the +30% elite damage stat (extremely strong) and the SMK has the +crit damage stat (extremely weak, +% damage on normal weapons is a far better stat even) Equiping a SMK means near full BBV and fetish army uptime, however they take 2 active skill slots that could be used for other skills. A jade harvester build always needs 4 skills: spirit walk, soul harvest, locust swarm, haunt. So with SMK your out of options after taking these 4 mandatory skills. This means you will loose skills likepiranhiado (+15% additive damage), horrify (+50% toughness and insane control) or mass confusion (+20% additive damage and great control). Piranhiado and theincreased base damage of a sunkeeper easily make up for the 30% additive damage gain from BBV. Ontop of that piranhiado is far better for control and allows you to hit far more mobs with harvest. Since the damage fetishes do is irrelevant (you 1-shot mobs anyway) they only serve as meatshield/control, horrify is far better suited for that since its an actual stun and it doesnt scatter mobs around like fetish army tends to do. Piranhiado>horrify>harvestcan never be beaten by big bad vodoo>fetish army>harvest.
