    Quote from Thornagol
In one of the UEE interviews, Blizz stated that they did a big increase in the "performance" bonus gains when you get a large group one-hit kill, a long kill chain, or large number of breakables. They were trying to figure out if this made the game a better experience for console players and IF it would also translate well to the PC in future patches.

I haven't seen a comparison of the numbers, but anything to earn more XP is always welcome in my mind.
Yeah, it's pretty significant, and really easy to chain mobs, especially as a WD with pets finishing mobs, and you Spirit Walking to the next group
You only have to attack something every few seconds for the massacre to keep going
Also, double damage spawns every 10 mobs you chain, and each globe beyond the first adds 20 seconds. If your on a difficulty you can farm, it's close to 100% uptime as long as you have the mobility
Speed buffs are always welcome too, via breaking at least 7 items

I don't see a reason to not have some form of this on all platforms. It could be a way for console to catch up to PC gear and Paragon levels, since we are months behind

I don't forget but I do keep mostly weapon slots only.

my one and only Thunderfury was level 61, that made things go smoothly at the top of the hill

The reason it was the way it was is because on console everything binds to your account like pc does now. And console drops are essentially the same as pc now. I will be playing console and am looking for friends for the nemesis system
We only have each other as friends that play the game, so the gifts drop for ourselves only. Anyone know if the rate increases per friend or how that works?
Yeah haven't had a nemesis monster yet, and at level 50, would like some for the drops

Is it me or is the massacre bonus fairly large on console?

I just recently started playing on console, but in comparison to PC the bonus is great

I believe it was getting atleast 5-10% of a level (at level 45 on normal) just from the bonus, roughly 100 kills

    I like this

Sadly I am moving from PC to a next gen console to play

I really enjoy D3, and on console my wife will be playing local co-op, she's not much of a PC gamer

I do like hardcore, but we will be playing softcore. My plan is to keep playing Hardcore on the PC

Anyone else moving to console for friends or anything? It a slight bummer starting over, and not even for season.

I have not played it on console as of yet, but I hope there are no deal breakers

posted a message on Lightning Wizard - Gear and Mechanics
Newer Wizard working on a lightning build with Electrocute

Today I have my first "main" piece, Myken's Ball Of Hate - Rolled Int/Vit/Crit and Enchanted Area Damage into Electrocute Damage
    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/mykens-ball-of-hate

Admittedly I am in rather poor gear,my main was on HC and I have since switched to 100 Paragon no gear Wizard
2400 DPS weapon with really nice Firebird Gloves(even better for 2.1)and fair Strongarm Bracers with Lightning damage are all I have to speak for

I assume a Velvet Camaral is the only absolutely needed piece of gear to make the spec start working
Is Ball of Hate useless without Velvet Camaral? Also how do they work with a single target? I have a fear that this build is terrible if mobs are not near eachother

I am now using (because of my lack of pieces) http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#UPNQST!VTSR!ZacZac My weapon does fire damage, so I get 15% from Elemental Exposure when I use Black Hole from the Arcane Rune. Electrocute until 5 stacks of Arcane Dynamo, Meteor and then Black Hole, repeat cycle pending Arcane Power and Black Hole cooldown

I believe my final build will be close to http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#UNjQST!VZSR!ZcaZac Take out a spender, get Familiar for the DPS increase, and change out Arcane Dynamo for Blur, Maybe switch EE out for something if I get a TF, Odyn Son, etc...

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/dovu-energy-trap http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/ancient-parthan-defenders

I was also wondering what you guys have put together as far as gear you prefer, as well as a build and how your experience has been - Dovu Energy Trap, Ancient Parthan Defenders, actually worth it?

Please state 2.0 or 2.1, so many changes coming for us, may use a spender pending how 2.1 finalizes for Lightning
Thank you in advance, I surf the forums multiple times a day here and get a lot of good information and insight from some good people on these forums

posted a message on Basic gear options - Crit vs Elite Damage vs Elemental/Skill damage
Main is a Hardcore WD, fire pet build with fire bats, no legendaries of note besides thing of the deep (20 yard pickup radius) and the stone of Jordan with fire damage. My gear is lacking a bit, went from 450k DPS to about 360K adding skill damage and balancing toughness. Running PUG 4 person T1 rifts, but feel lacking without BBVD going.Weapon is 2300 DPS with socket.

I am overcompensating on toughness (12K) but also feel like I haven't gotten much luck with legs, only half equipped with what I have found.

My SoJ is Vitality and Fire damage I believe, unfortunately not able to access my gear at this second.

    RoRG?

posted a message on Basic gear options - Crit vs Elite Damage vs Elemental/Skill damage
I am looking for advice on stat decisions, and hope to help some others in the process wondering the same thing

At the moment I have several characters doing T1, softcore and hardcore. Pretty normal gear, half decent legs, other half rerolled rares

My question is about different DPS stats. I have seen people claim crit and crit damage on every piece is the way to go, others about elite damage, and most agree on element/skill being very efficient.

When gearing up, is there a certain gear level and or mob difficulty on where the allocation of these stats weigh differently?

I know crit damage gem is best for a weapon, but what about gear choices where you may not have great legs to make your build

For instance I have a stone of Jordan that will make me lose 20% DPS, but it's has 25% elite damage and 15% fire damage, which I use a fire build. Unfortunately I feel in T1 I kill even trash mobs too slow, currently at 350k DPS. Unfortunately that is after 80 paragon levels worth of grinding that gear alone, a lot of bad luck if seems. Also that is a hardcore character so I do have more toughnes than softcore

Just looking for some insight on what you guys reroll and prioritize, what difficulty you run, what class, and hardcore/softcore

posted a message on Hardcore - bad DPS - help my build
    Thanks for the advice

I have since gotten a few upgrades and gotten away from locust swarm and firebomb

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#cTdUYQ!aeVT!ZbcaYb

Now using a Grave Injustice build as recommended, using Garg cooldown and BBVD, spamming firebats

Farming as a T1 group gets the cooldown super low on Garg and BBVD

I got up to 320K damage and still around 13k toughness, rolling armor on some of the previous locust items

I think I like BBVD more than Pirahnado, especially with most people still outgearing me

Still looking for more forgotten souls to get a gem in my weapon, but I did get a Thing Of The Deep with a pretty decent roll

749 int, 719 vit, 13% life and 9% crit - helped a lot with this build, love that pickup radius

Thanks again for the advice, has helped me a lot with this toon

posted a message on Hardcore - bad DPS - help my build
Have a few days at 70 with my Hardcore Witch Doctor
I feel like I do no DPS in comparison to most people I group with, and I feel it is my build/choice of gear
    Build: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#SheUYT!WVSR!acZaYa

Fire build - I Locust Swarm and Haunt (Haunt is cold damage)a few times and then spam Firebomb
Mobility with Spirit Walk and Pets for DPS and Survivability
Passives: Pierce The Veil gives me DPS, Fetish gives me tons of pets from spamming Firebomb, Creeping Death makes it so I don't have to recast much - especially because Pierce uses a lot of mana, and midnight adds pet DPS

I have almost all fire damage on what pieces I can, along with Firebomb and Locust Swarm increases
Plus damage includes 27% Locust Swarm, 23% Firebomb, and 21% fire damage

I am in mostly rares, the few legs I have aren't of any note, but definitely an increase over pretty much any rare

This is a hardcore toon - I do use a shield

    192K damage, 14 mil toughness, 13k healing

I only have 12% crit with 50% crit damage - I am thinking this is my problem
I have spent every forgotten soul I have to try and get a weapon socket, still working on it, but its 2,300 DPS with 9% damage on it, not the worst as it
I am fairly new to the game, like I said I am sure this is me, but what to alter/fix
I know 192K dps is low on paper, but I feel I have a good amount of +skill and +fire damage

Also, Firebats - Vampire bats seems good, its fire so maybe I can incorporate it
