That affix 'adds % to whatever-elemental damage' is just a damage boost, it has no implications whatsoever with any damage type. So if it adds cold damage, you won't be slowing anybody down and, for instance, the Cold Blooded passive from the Wiz won't benefit from it.
Same goes for arcane damage and Temporal Flux, poison damage and Bad Medicine and so on and so forth.
Yeah, going from 4 to 5 seems to be a big jump indeed.
On my WD, mp3. Fast, easy, good loot. Anything higher slows me down, but is manageable. Except for the Act 3 Keywarden. That dude makes me angry with this ridiculous blizzard or whatever. Him, I go for mp1.
I was listening to a lot of Jamiroquai, the groove is amazing to keep you going. Some assorted electronica, like LCD Soundsystem and deadmau5 to name a couple. Rap is always good too, Kanye, Lupe, Biggie, Bone Thugz, Snoop.
Right now I'm kinda lazy with playlisting, so I just pop up a shuffle on everything thing I have on Winamp and just forward with keyboard media-key If the song doesn't fit the mood.
Honestly, I found Act 3 at mp3 easier than 1.0.4. The keywarden gave me hell though, I died like 4 or 5 times from his goddamned blizzard. At 5 NV, he didn't drop the key =/
MP5 was a laugh... first time through I get phasebeasts, champ succubus and a couple of colossal golgors in the Core of Arreat staircase. Impossible for now.
I've searched the way I always do: I first use all the parameters without values, then add values below the ones mine has to approximate. Since this one only hit Blackthornes, I'm having trouble figuring out the price because of the reduced ranged damage, which is the one affix that separates mine from other similar rares.
Major problem was getting those high-value Blackthornes and then getting mixed results from rares.
So I found this chest and have been using for a while. I was recently doing a price check on my gear and the only other chests I've found that rolled these stats were a couple of Blackthorne's, one for 90m and another for 350m.
Now I know this isn't the case, but if this chest is worth at least in the range of +20m I'm going to sell it.
Thanks in advance for taking your time to respond.
Vanishing dye all the time. My WD uses all Forrester's, other usually Infernal, Abyssal or Purity. Always the same color on everything that isn't Vanished or a legendary.
Possibilities would be replacing DR with Quickening for spirit, Inner Sanctuary for Blind or Tailwind for escapability. I just have it in there because otherwise nobody would ever use it.
I disagree on switching Acid Cloud for Bears only because of 0 LoH. I run 0 LoH/LL and don't use Bears.
I'm at 55k dps with Pierce the Veil and Enchantress, and PtV makes Bears essentially unspammable. So I use a skill that has a nice DoT, cast it every ~3.5 seconds (or spam a bit depending on mob positioning), with an absolutely huge hit radius in Acid Rain. Granted, Bears does a lot more damage, but if you don't gear up for mana regen, things get tricky and you might end up with 0 mana to cast Spirit Walk when you need it and that's a bummer to say the least.
Things are not set in stone.
If you don't have a lot of gold to spend, I say get tankier and then go for an awesome weapon. I first went for ~80k HP, 30k+ dps with some +armor and all res gear to make my pets very tanky. This helped immensely as I was able to consistently farm Act 3, albeit a little slow due to low dps. You don't need to effectively stack a lot of crit to get a nice dps boost, getting to a mid 20's chance is fine along with some IAS and high int.

Cool beans playing a broken game. Lurker or actively playing and complaining?
I also noticed the War Cry situation, but to me its not a big deal since Battle Rage now lasts 2 minutes.

Though I do think Barbs and WD are better off at first, Monk catches up a bit further down the road and then never lets go.

Thanks for the help though.

If/when it gets a range buff, I would use this instead: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#bZRXgQ!dUb!cccbYZ

And Hard Target is a skill for the undergeared. Backlash or Overawe are the go-to mantras.
Love the Monk, hate the number of viable builds. Can't even count to 20.
