I have all classes at 60, and with all of them I tried to finish the game. Except for DH, which by the start of Act 2 had its gear sold and is just standing there naked in my character selection screen doing nothing ever since. Did not enjoy it at all.
Started with Monks, which are cool, but my favorite is by far the WD, which is my main. Then Barb because it, for me, embodies what Diablo is all about. Monsters flying in the air is always fun.
I'd go for WD, if not Barb, if not Monk, if not Wiz, if not don't do it.
I use Fetish Sycophants from time to time, in low MPs. Its great. Procs a ton, I see a lot of those little dudes going around. And I mean a lot, usually I'm running around with 3-5 of those little bastards.
With high attack speed (2.00+), it works very very well. Too bad there isn't a skill to do something with them or boost them in some way, like Sac does with dogs.
Re-spec to Bears and mana regen because its just so much faster. Tried to run with Acid Rain, Corpse Bomb, Searing Locusts, only Ghost Bomb (with BBV,garg, dogs,Sac for increased dmg, zombie handler)... nothing comes close to Bears.
This requires high attack speed to work effectivelly (i'm at 2.47) because with PtV Acid Rain is not spammable, you use it 3 times in a row to take advantage of added ground-AoE damage of it while spamming Ghost Bomb and relying on SW, Horrify and the pets to stay alive. The combination of all the summons going around, anywhere from 4 to ~10, makes it easy to time the Acid Rains to take full advantage of the spell. Only weakness is single target, but how often are you actually engaged in single-target damage dealing other than the last elite standing? Even then the monster has already taken loads of damage from the AoE.
On the Garg rune, on lower MPs Humongoid is a clear-cut winner, but in higher MPs Restless Giant is way better. It does A TON of damage when it goes HULK SMASH.
After all that said, honestly, I switch around too much to consider these the 'builds I use'. These are just examples that worked for me.
Spider Queen+VQ+Blood Ritual gives an insane amount of mana regen. Spiritual Attunement pales in comparison.
But what I've found is that some people just spam blindly and expect the mana to hold. Mana management is also about knowing how your attack speed affects the skill you are using.
I play with 2.47 attack speed and using bears makes my mana freaking disappear. But thats the way I want it, 'cause its there just to finish off elites in the blink of an eye.
go for demon hunter, i can see it become the dominant class in pvp, sentry hits for blah blah blah
That is so awesome that you are dominating PvP! Oh wait... that's right, its not out yet. Nice guesswork.
I also say wait. If you really can't wait, just for basic stuff like as much damage, armor and all res you can get. I believe LL/LoH/Life Regen/Pickup range will be very nice additions in PvP, but I'll just wait and see.
This entire thread is the epitome of douche! You wrote a whole tl;dr post about how one guy antagonized you over something, which is all good and fine, but then you go ahead and say you PITY him?! Isn't that a little hypocritical at the very least? If you want to act all high and mighty about something, at least be the bigger man and take the high road. Saying you understand his opinion and pity him for it is extremely presumptuous. This trail kid could've easily posted his own thing about how he understands the opinion of this Jaetch kid he argued with on bnet and pities Jaetch for having elementary incorrect opinions which are easily understood. Your tunnel vision is evidently blinding you since you can't see this!
Anyway I'm with whoever said the game genie bit. But I have no problem with people who spend on the rmah! Without them I wouldn't be able to sell my digital stuff for irl cash money!

I was reading the posts and was going to add something until I read this and shit... this dude just took the words out of my mouth.
My conclusion at the end of all that was: It is far more efficient to play the way I enjoy it than to play efficiently for 10 minutes and than quit as I'm bored of doing the same thing all over again. I'm sure some of you feel the same way.

Most of the fun I have with this game are going up against challenging affixes. They are not a challenge at all on low MPs...
I think its a far more complex discussion than just 'this class is faster'. I'd put money on the table to wager that WDs are faster than WW Barbs in low MPs, but in higher MPs its the other way around. Obviously, for similarly geared characters. So I guess the discussion should be 'what class farms faster MP0-3' and so on.
Anywho... on an overall basis, ranging from MP0-10, I'd say, in a very very close race (as in a difference of maybe 1-2 million xp/hour or so), this:
1. WW Barb - pretty much tops all the way
2. CM Wiz - starts to shine on higher MPs
3. TR Monk - well-rounded
4. Cookie-cutter DH - tougher times in higher MPs
5. Acid Rain/Bears WD - mana problems in higher MPs only thing holding back (not applied to uber-geared folk)
14-30% Magic Find
14-30% Gold Find
Critical Hit Chance Increased by 3-6%
One of 3 Magic Properties (varies)
+112-200 Intelligence
+112-200 Strength
+112-200 Dexterity
Every successful critical hit has a 0.05% to increase your Magic and Gold Find by 50% for 15 seconds. Effect cannot occur more than once every 60 seconds.
+1 Random Magic Properties
Funny how people don't get what he's about. Don't like him, but he does what he does very well. If he didn't, no one would even bother to say 'he's a turd' and shit like that.
Some suggestions for xpmaximation, get 24% movement speed on your gear, remove horify with movementspeed it doesnt stack.
Also get lifesteal instead of life on hit, use the 6s spiritwalk and zombiebear packs with reflect damage. Not only will you be faster cause of 6s spiritwalk you will also survive now on mp4-6. If you have manaregproblems try using the spiritual attunement instead of blood ritual.
Jaunt is 4 seconds. Movement speed from Horrify does stack. Acid Rain works better with LoH for some reason.
Nice vid. I've been using the sinergy between TotD/GF/GI for quite some time now and I'm not changing from it anytime soon.

This cracks me up. How the hell can you invest 1000 hours into something you find unoriginal, not fun, tedious and boring?
This thread blows. Either shit or get off the pot.

If I don't mind killing slower, best I've found after this build was this one: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#SRUXYT!VYW!cacYcZ

Pickup radius and +health from globes/pots are nice stats to have that considerably affect run time. Also makes Gruesome Feast even more of a beast.
If you are not killing elites with little effort, drop down some MP levels.
