Thanks a lot for the detailed analysis :)

I didn't know that Arcane Dynamo worked with Arcane Torrent. At the moment tho I'm not using any signature spell because I'm farming Torment 1 and I usually don't have any arcane power issues. I will add Magic Missile + Arcane Dynamo as soon as I go up in Torment level.

My "final" build should looks like this:

I'm still undecided on my last skill? What do you suggest?

    Hello everyone,

I'm kinda new to ros and I'm not sure where to go with my wizard:
    http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Wrain-2156/hero/44311046
My gear is still pretty bad and I'm basically using the arcane torrent build because I found a nice Moonlight Ward and I wasn't able to find any decent +fire damage gear.

    -What should I upgrade next?
-Any advice in general on the build/gear?

Thanks in advance for the help :)

You have a nice and balaced monk, I like the combination of loh / ls. The problem is that you lack of movement speed.
My advice is to get a echoing fury with a socket and a good dps to replace your off hand and switch out beacon of ytar for fleet footed.
Lacuni whit crit% would be nice too since you don't have movement speed on boots and your boots are really good :)

With the increase attack speed from echoing fury your loh will be enough to get through act 3 inferno.
PS: an echoing fury like mine (a poor one :)) will give your around 6k dps.

    Here is my monk:

Can't decide what upgrade next. SoJ ? An Echoing Fury with LS to menage better high monster power ?
    Don't know really...

I have 2 more weapon in my stash and i can't decide if to keep them or sell them :

    No links this page yet but since Neivri was the last one to post I'll rate that;

You seem to be doing it right, I personally don't mind having low resistances (got like 580 myself) so long as I have a decent amount of health/DPS to make up for it - you could really use new rings, if you look properly you'll find ones that are a lot better for reasonable prices (I think I paid around 1.5mill for each of my rings). Could use new chest, helm, etc. as well but the proper stats are already there, it's just a matter of waiting until you can afford more of each stat and all that. Though I dislike missing vitality on boots I like the damage reduced from elites on the chestplate.

Your weapons are pretty solid, I've been trying to get my hands on a pair that have life steal as well even though I don't really die, I'd rather be able to autopilot the runs all the way without even having to worry about what I'm doing.

    https://eu.battle.ne...460/hero/226352 This would be me.

Thanks for the advices Obe, especially on the rings :) I did some major upgrade too, namely inna's helm and legs. http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/
Now i'm sitting at around 90k dps with blazing wrath and 34% moving speed. I love attack speed and I think i'm going to get something (amulet or weapon) with loh.

Your monk is pretty solid, I think your next upgrade should be 2x natalya pieces or a Mempo of Twilight with Crit / Dex / Vit, it will cost a lot :)

@Neivri: The only thing I notice is that your overall resistance seems low (~580 if I totaled it right), but I try and stay near 700 res all so it might be personal preference.

    Mine: US Battle net, Rathgood-1666/hero/3207488

Also, please note that the current build is one I am experimenting with for Backlash. I use the standard build when farming/progressing.

I'm around 620 all res with owe. I know it's a bit low but with 64k dps (with BoH) elite packs die really fast and with the combination of life leach from weapon and globes radius i'm usually fine if I use well my defensive cd.
I think i'm going to buy (when i gather some more golds) inna's helm and legs while trying to keep at least 30k hp and 600 all res.

    For your monk i suggest:
    - more crit dmg: i suggest a mh with crit dmg and an open socket
    - more crit: you can get some decent crit + crit dmg rings for cheap
    - Andariel Visage: since you have poison as chosen resist Andariel Visage it's really good. It may cost a lot if you want one with an open socket

@gaeddan: maybe you should get another inna piece for the bonus. I wound buy the inna's chest. Mempo of Twilight with crit and dex it's a really huge upgrade but atm it cost a fortune :)

posted a message on Monks seem kinda boring compared to other classes?
Monks need some adjustment for sure but still, for me, it's a really fun class to play.
What bother me most is that I'm forced to take some skill like One With Everything and that i'm basically spamming mantras for most of the time since other spender cost too much to be used constantly.

    @sythan:
    - get some attack speed, you have around 900 loh but a slow weapon. I would start from the rings and the gloves. AS will give you more cyclone proc and more survivability.
    - get a double resist belt they are cheap now, I just changed mine.
    - after that, if you have the money, you should aim for a helm with a socket and maybe 2 inna pieces for the 130 dex bonus. I'm trying to get pants + helm (or chest) for a huge dps boost.

    Quote from Newti

There are a lot of small mechanics at work that make this by far the most effective weapon combination for any mid-high range budget. Important to know is that dps on your offhand doesnt matter too much. Its better to run with a 650 dps dagger that has 190% critdmg and 300 dex than with a 1200 dps + socket mace. On your mainhand its the other way around.

I'm at around 40k dps dw but i feel that the dmg is too low to burst down elites. It feel quicker to just use a shield and face tank at least some types of champion pack.
Still can't decide if it's convenient to just do act 2 until better gear.

What are the small mechanics that you are referring to ?

Ok now I understand, for each point in dex you get more dps if the dps of the weapon is higher.
Do you know i tool where i can compare weapon?

    So
    Quote from Martini

After that you want to uppgrade your weapon. You want a weapon with 800 dps+ 500 life on hit+ and atleast 1.4 attacks per sec. Dex is roughly 1:1 dex:dps.
    http://eu.battle.net...YihX!ZXU!aYacab

So you are saying that a 700 dps weapon with 200 dex is equivalent to a 900 dps weapon ? Are you sure ? Where I can find the exact calculation ?
I'm about to upgrade my weapon with near half of my golds and i want to be sure sure :)

It was not easy i have to admit. I did a lot of kiting and skipped some elite packs.
In the end the terminus was the most challenging part of act 2. Belias was a joke.

I used a similar build: mantra of healing with the time of need rune instead of mantra of evasion with hard target.

Another thing, in the screenshot of my stats i have the mantra of evasion with hard target on.

    @Pwnstarr
    What build are u using?
I think that u have low resist / armor of act 3 mobs. And the LoH is low too. Very nice dmg tho :D

    Hello fellow monks,
I just reached act 3 inferno with my monk and I really need to chance my weapon since the dmg is too low.

    Here my stats:

    My Build:
    http://us.battle.net...jgXh!XZU!Zbcaca

Any advice? What stats should my next weapon have?
It's better 1 more dps on a weapon or 1 point in dex? I can't figure out exactly the conversion dex -> dps

What are your stats (i'm interested in your weapons especially :) ) ?
I have just reached inferno and tryed this build, can't stay alive for more then 10 sec vs elites

And another question, do you know how dual wield dmg work ?
I usually do more dmg with the shield on, can't understand exactly why.
