I apologize (again) to the OP. I hope he understands my comment was well-meaning. I didn't mean to engage some random pseudo-intellectual 'know-it-all' in a back-n-forth pissing contest.
No worries. I hope you find the pages as useful as I do
I've been lurking around these forums for a long time. I thought I'd finally say hello.
I first played Diablo 1 back when I was in high school and was totally hooked.
When Diablo 2 came out, I brought my computer over to a friends house and played all weekend long. It was a blast!
I'm pretty disappointed in Diablo 3, but I hope it will improve over time and become awesome some day.
I'm also a coder and I've coded a few tools to help me become a better Diablo player. You can look at my profile to see the posts I made about the tools I created.
Can we trust this? I never like clicking unfamiliar links, especially ones posted by new members with 4 posts. Be careful people.
Hello
Yes, I only have a few posts, I just dont post that much. I spend most of my time coding stuff or playing games. I read diablo fans via RSS and only visit the forums once in a while. The page is safe, just static content.
So I tired of switching between several different pages in Blizzards Diablo guide, so I wrote some quick code to create a single page, with all the weapons and armor and set bonuses on a single page.
This way I can just do a quick search for the text I am after.
I also wanted a page with all skills and all runes in the same page, so again, I could search for certain keywords. So I wrote some more code to do that. These are all fresh data, as of today.
So I wanted to increase the damage of my Wizard, but wasn't sure which stat gave me the biggest bang for my auction house buck:
Attack Speed?
Primary stat intelligence?
Crit chance?
Crit damage?
Min damage?
Basically you enter all your gear stats in, and in real time it calculates the same stats you see in the game.
This way I can 'try on' a piece of gear I am thinking about purchasing from the auction house to see exactly what sort of impact it would have.
I made this tool in about a day, so it may have some bugs. I also only really tested it with Wizard, although it should work fine with the other classes.
The damage calculation isn't exactly perfect. I usually find it off a very tiny amount. I think this is due to the number you see on gear being rounded, but calculations behind the scene in Diablo are done with the non-rounded number. So thus it's a little off on the website, but close enough.
Maybe there is already a tool out there that does this, but I wasn't aware of it.
Oh, there is also a 'Bang for your Buck' box, that will tell you how much extra damage you will get from each stat. Basically, to kinda help you determine which stat you can trade off for another on the AH to get some cheaper gear while still getting same amount of more damage.

This this is about as low as it can go or do you think it will continue to fall and fall and fall forever?

Thanks!
By the way, in case anyone is interested in the code I wrote to generate this site, here it is: https://github.com/Sembiance/d3_eq_skills_scraper

This a million times. If there was just TONS of mobs packed into Whimsyshire, I would actually bother to go there from time to time.

So I made a web site to help me calculate it: http://diablogeartheory.com
To show you it in action, here is a link to my current Wizard build: http://diablogearthe...71-65113c12974c
